1 Hiza, ta ishato, hinttee, hintte asatethaa Xoossaa ufayssiya, paxanne geeshsha yarshsho oothidi, immana mela taani hinttena Xoossaa maarotethan woossays. Xoossaa hintte goynnanaw bessiya tuma ogey hessa.
So I encourage you, my brothers and sisters, because of God's compassion for you, to dedicate your bodies as a living offering that is holy and pleasing to God. This is the logical way to worship.
2 Lo77o, ufaysseyssanne polo gidida Xoossaa sheniya hintte shaakki eranaw hintte qofan laamettiteppe attin ha alamiya daanopite. (aiōn g165)
Don't follow the ways of this world; instead be transformed by the spiritual renewal of your mind so you can demonstrate what God's will really is—good, pleasing, and perfect. (aiōn g165)
3 Xoossay hintte issuwas issuwas immida ammanuwa mela wozanaama asada qoppite. Qoppanaw besseyssafe aathidi hinttena dummayidi, otoron qoppofite gada taw imettida aadho keehatethan hinttew odays.
Let me explain to all of you, through the grace given to me, that no one should think of themselves better than they ought to. You should think about yourselves realistically, according to the degree of trust God has shared with you.
4 Nu issi asatethaa giddon dumma dumma kifileti de7oosona; he dumma dumma kifiletas dumma dumma oosoy de7ees.
Just as there are many parts to the body, but they don't all do the same thing,
5 Hessada, nuuni daro asi gidikkok, Kiristtoosan issi asatethi gidida. Nuuni issi asatethi gididi dumma dumma kifileti issoy issuwara oykettida.
so we are one body in Christ, even though we are many—and we all belong to one another.
6 Nuus imettida aadho keehatethan dumma dumma imotati de7oosona. Nu imoy tinbbit odo gidikko, nuus de7iya ammanuwa mela odanaw bessees.
We each have different gifts that vary according to the grace given to us. So if it's speaking for God, then you should do so depending on how much you trust in God.
7 Nu imoy harata maade gidikko, he oosuwan minnanaw bessees; tamaarsso gidikko, he tamaarssuwan minnanaw bessees.
If it's the ministry of service then you should serve; if teaching then you should teach;
8 Nu imoy harata minthetho gidikko, minnidi minthethanaw bessees. Nu imoy nuus de7iyabaappe haratas imo gidikko, wozanappe immanaw bessees. Nu imoy ayso gidikko, minnidi aysanaw bessees. Nu imoy haratas keeho gidikko, ufayssan keehanaw bessees.
if encouragement then you should encourage; if giving then you should give generously; if leadership then you should lead with commitment; if being merciful then you should do so gladly.
9 Hintte siiqoy qoodheppe qommon gidanaw bessenna. Iitabaa ixxite; lo77obaa minthidi oykkite.
Love must be genuine. Hate what is evil; hold on tightly to what is good.
10 Issoy issuwara ishada siiqetite; issoy issuwa bonchchite.
Be completely dedicated to each other in your love as family; value others more than yourselves.
11 Azallofit; hintte ayyaanan minnidi, Godaas oothite.
Don't be unwilling to work hard; serve the Lord with an enthusiastic spirit.
12 Xoossay immida ufayssan ufayttite; metuwa dandda7ite; ubba wode Xoossaa woossite.
Remain cheerful in the hope you have, put up with the troubles that come, keep on praying.
13 Ammaniya geeshshata koshshiyaban maaddite; imathata mokkite.
Share in providing for the needs of God's people, and welcome strangers with hospitality.
14 Hinttena goodeyssata anjjite; anjjiteppe attin baaddofite.
Bless those who persecute you—bless them, and don't curse them.
15 Ufayttessatara ufayttite; yeekkeyssatara yeekkite.
Be happy with those who are happy; cry with those who are crying.
16 Issoy issuwara issi qofan de7ite. Otoro qofaa aggidi, hinttena kawushshidi, kawushsha ooso oothite. Hintte hinttena cincca gidi qoppofite.
Think about one another. Don't consider yourself more important than others; live humbly. Don't be conceited.
17 Oonikka hinttew iitabaa oothiko, he uraas iita zaaroppite. Asa ubbaa sinthan nashisiya lo77o ooso oothite.
Don't pay back anyone evil for evil. Make sure you show everybody that what you're doing is good,
18 Asa ubbaara saron daanaw hinttew dandda7ettiya ubbaa oothite.
and as far as it's up to you, live at peace with everyone.
19 Ta ishato, hinttee, hintte huu7en asas halo keyoppite. Xoossay halo kessana mela iyaw aggaagite. Geeshsha Maxaafan, “Taani halo kessana; taani kushe zaarana” yaagees Goday, geetettidi xaafettis.
My dear friends, don't seek revenge, but leave it to God to execute judgment—as Scripture points out, “‘It's for me to dispense justice, I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
20 Shin Geeshsha Maxaafan, “Ne morkkey koshattiko muza; I saamotiko ushsha. Neeni hessa oothiko iya huu7en yeella tama bonqqo qolaasa” geetettidi xaafettis.
If those who hate you are hungry, give them food; if they're thirsty, give them a drink; for by doing so you pile fiery coals on their heads.
21 Iitaa lo77on xoonappe attin iitaan xoonettofa.
Don't be defeated by evil—conquer evil with good.
