Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy the brother, to Philemon our beloved friend and fellow-laborer,
2 ne son shiiqiya woosa keethatas, nu michche Afibiyasinne nuura issife de7iya wotaaddare Arkkiphaasas xaafida kiita.
and to the beloved Apphia, and to Archippus our fellow-soldier, and to the church in thy house:
3 Xoossaa nu Aawappenne nu Godaa Yesuus Kiristtoosappe aadho keehatethaynne sarotethay hinttew gido.
Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Neeni geeshshata doseyssanne Godaa Yesuusa ammaneyssa taani si7iya gisho, Xoossaa woossashe nena qoppiya wode ubban ta Xoossaa galatays.
I thank my God at all times, making mention of thee in my prayers,
hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints;
6 Neeni ne ammanuwa haratas shaakkeyssi nuus Kiristtoos Yesuusa baggara yaa lo77obaa ubbaa erisana mela taani Xoossaa woossays.
that the fellowship of thy faith may become effectual in the knowledge of every good thing which is in us, for Christ Jesus.
7 Geeshshata wozanay ne oosuwan minnida gisho, ta ishaw, taani ne siiquwan daro ufayssinne minthetho demmas.
For we have great thankfulness and comfort on account of thy love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by thee, brother.
8 Hessa gisho, neeni oothanaw bessiyabaa oothana mela nena kiittanaw Kiristtoosa baggara taw minotethay de7ees.
Wherefore, though I have much boldness in Christ to enjoin upon thee that which is befitting,
9 Taani Phawuloosi, cimidayssi, Kiristtoos Yesuusas ha77ika qashon de7eyssi, siiqon nena woossays.
yet for love's sake I beseech thee rather; being such a one as Paul an old man, and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus,
10 Taani qashon de7ashe iyaw zoriya aawa gidida ta na7aa Anasmoosa gisho nena woossays.
I beseech thee for my child, whom I begot in my bonds, Onesimus;
11 I kase nena maaddenna, shin ha77i nenakka tanakka tuma maaddiya asi.
who in time past was unprofitable to thee, but is now profitable to thee and to me;
12 Taani wozanappe dosiya Anasmoosa neekko yeddays. Taani Wonggelaa gisho qashettidashin, ne gisho taw oothidi tana maaddana mela ta matan iya ashshanaw koyas.
whom I have sent back; and do thou [[receive]] him, that is, my own flesh.
Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might minister to me in the bonds of the gospel;
14 Shin ne sheneda oothanaw koyasippe attin neera zorettonna wolqqan aykkoka oothanaw koyikke.
but I chose to do nothing without thy consent, that thy benefit may be not as from necessity, but willingly.
15 Anasmoosi guutha wode neeppe shaakettidayssi, ooni eri simmidi ubba wode neera de7onna aggenna. (aiōnios g166)
For perhaps he was separated from thee for a season to this end, that thou shouldst receive him back as thine for ever; (aiōnios g166)
16 Hiza, hayssafe guye Anasmoosi aylle gidonnashin, I ayllefe daro aadhdhees. I taw ay mela siiqo ishee! Qassi I new asa baggarakka Godaa baggarakka aadhdhida isha.
no longer as a bond-servant, but above a bond-servant, a brother beloved, especially to me, but how much more to thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord!
17 Hiza, neeni tana ne lagge giyabaa gidikko tana mokkeyssada iya mokka.
If thou then regardest me as a partner, receive him as myself.
18 I nena qohidabay woykko I acottidabay de7ikko taappe ekka.
And if he wronged thee in anything, or oweth thee, put that to my account.
19 He acuwa taani qanxana gada taani, Phawuloosi, ta kushen xaafays. Neeni taw ne shemppuwa acota uttidayssa taani nena akeekisanaw koshshenna.
I Paul have written it with my own hand, I will repay it; not to say to thee, that to me thou owest even thy own self besides.
20 Ta ishaw, Godaa baggara neeppe maade demmanaw koyays. Kiristtoosa baggara tana minthetha.
Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.
21 Taani gidayssafe daro neeni oothanayssa erada qassi ne taw kiitettanayssa ammanada hayssa xaafays.
Having confidence in thy obedience I have written to thee, knowing that thou wilt do even more than I say.
22 Xoossay hintte woosa si7idi tana hintteko guye zaarana gada qoppiya gisho, taw imathi shemppiya keethi giigisa.
And at the same time make ready a lodging for me; for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.
23 Kiristtoos Yesuusa gisho taara qashon de7iya Ephphaafiri nena saro saro gees.
Epaphras, my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus,
24 Qassi taara issife oothiya Marqqoosi, Arsxirokoosi, Deemasinne Luuqaasi nena saro saro goosona.
Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow-laborers, salute thee.
25 Godaa Yesuus Kiristtoosa aadho keehatethay hintte ayyaanaara gido.
