Yohaannisa 16
1 “Taani hessa hintte ammanoy dhayonna mela hinttew odas.
I have spoken these things to you, that you may not be offended.
2 Entti hinttena Ayhude Woosa Keethatappe kessi yeddana. Hessadakka, hinttena wodhiya oonikka Xoossi koyabaa oothiya daaniya wodey yaana.
They will put you out of the synagogues: but the hour is coming, that every one killing you may think he is offering service to God.
3 Entti hessa hintte bolla oothey tana woykko Aawa eronna gishossa.
And they will do these things, because they did not know the Father, nor me.
4 Shin entti hessa hintte bolla oothiya wodey gakkiya wode taani hinttew odididayssa hintte akeekana mela taani hinttew hayssa odas. “Sinthatada taani hayssa hinttew odonna gam77iday ta hinttera de7iya gishossa.
But I have spoken these things to you, that when the hour may come, you may remember them, that I did say them to you. But I said not these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.
5 Shin ha77i taani tana kiittidayssako bays; hinttefe oonikka, ‘Awu bay?’ gidi tana oychchey baawa.
But now I go to Him that sent me; and no one of you asks me, Whither goest thou?
6 Shin taani hessa odida gisho, hintte wozanan daro azzanoy de7ees.
But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Shin taani hinttew tuma odays; taani beyssi hinttew lo77o. Ays giikko, taani boonna ixxiko minthetheyssi hintteko yeenna. Shin taani biikko iya hintteko yeddana.
But now I tell you the truth; it is profitable to you that I may go away. For if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I may go, I will send Him to you.
8 Minthetheyssi yidi, nagarabaa, xillotethabaanne pirddabaa ha alamiya asaa erisana.
And having come, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.
9 Nagarabay, asay tana ammanonna gishossa.
Concerning sin indeed, because they do not believe on me; and concerning righteousness;
10 Xillotethabay, taani Aawakko biya gishonne hintte tana zaari be7onna gishossa.
because I go to the Father, and you see me no more;
11 Pirddabay, qassi alamiya haareyssi pirddettida gishossa.
and concerning judgment, because the prince of this world has been condemned.
12 “Taani hinttew odiyabay darobay de7ees, shin ha77i hinttew gelenna.
I have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now.
13 Tuma Ayyaanay yaa wode hinttena tumatetha ubbaako kaalethana. I si7idabaa odeesippe attin baappe aybibaakka odenna. Qassi sinthafe yaanabaa hinttew I odana.
But when He, the Spirit of truth, may come, He will guide you in all truth: for He will not speak from Himself; but so many things as He hears, He will speak: and will proclaim to you the things which are coming.
14 I taw de7eyssafe ekkidi hinttew odiya gisho I tana bonchchana.
He will glorify me: because He will receive from mine, and proclaim them unto you.
15 Aawas de7iyaba ubbay tabaa; ‘Minthetheyssi taw de7eyssafe ekkidi hinttew odana’ taani giday hessassa.
And all things whatsoever the Father has are mine: therefore I said, that He takes from mine, and will proclaim them to you.
16 “Guutha wodeppe guye tana be7ekketa; qassi guutha wodeppe guye hintte tana be7ana” yaagis.
A little while, and ye see me no more; again a little while, and ye shall see me.
17 Iya tamaaretappe issoti issoti bantta giddon, “Guutha wodeppe guye hintte tana be7ekketa; qassi guutha wodeppe guye hintte tana be7ana; qassika taani Aawakko bays guussay woy guussee?” yaagidosona.
Then some of His disciples were saying to one another, What is this which He speaks to us, A little while, and you see me no more; and again a little while, and ye shall see me? and that I go to the Father?
18 “Guutha wodeppe guye geyssi woy guussee? I ay odettiyako nuus erettenna” yaagidosona.
Then they were speaking, What is this, Little while, of which He speaks? and we know not what He is talking about.
19 Entti bana oychchanaw koyeyssa Yesuusi eridi, “Taani, ‘Guutha wodeppe guye tana be7ekketa; qassi guutha wodeppe guye hintte tana be7ana’ gidayssas hintte issoy issuwa oychcheetii?
Jesus knew that they wished to ask Him, and said to them, You are seeking with one another concerning this, because I said, A little while, and you see me no more, and again a little while, and you shall see me?
20 Taani hinttew tuma odays; hintte yeekkananne afuxana, shin ha alamey ufayttana. Ha77i hintte azzanana, shin hintte azzanoy ufayssan laamettana.
Truly, truly, I say unto you, that you will weep and mourn, and the world will rejoice; you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
21 Issi maccasiya na7a yelana haniya wode ba yelo wodey gakkida gisho hirggawusu. Shin na7a yelidaappe guye na7i ha alamiyan yelettida ufayssaa gisho ba un77aa dogawusu.
When a woman may bring forth she has sorrow, because her hour has come: but when the little child may be born, she remembers her suffering no more, for the joy that a man has been born into the world.
22 Hessadakka, hintteka hintte wozanan azzaneeta, shin taani hinttena zaarada be7ana. Hintte wozanay daro ufayttana; he ufayssaa oonikka hinttefe ekkenna.
Therefore you indeed also now have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one taketh your joy from you.
23 “He gallas hintte tana aybibaakka woosseketa. Taani hinttew tuma odays; hintte ta sunthan woossiyabaa ubbaa Aaway hinttew immana.
And in that day you will ask of me nothing. Truly, truly, I say unto you, Whatsoever you may ask the Father, He will give it to you in my name.
24 Ha77i gakkanaw ta sunthan aybibaakka woossibeekketa. Hintte ufayssay polo gidana mela Xoossaa woossite; hintte ekkana.
Until now you have asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, in order that your joy may be full.
25 “Taani ha77i gakkanaw hinttew leemison odas, hizappe taani leemison odonna wodey yaana. Shin Aawabaa taani hinttew qonccen odana.
I have spoken these things unto you in parables; the hour comes, when I shall no longer speak to you in parables, but openly will I proclaim to you concerning the Father.
26 He gallas hintte ta sunthan Aawa woossana; hintte gisho taani Aawa woossike.
In that clay you shall ask in my name: and I do not say, that I will ask the Father for you;
27 Ays giikko, Aaway ba huu7en hinttena dosees. Hintte tana dosiya gishonne taani Aawa matappe yidayssa ammanida gisho, I hinttena dosees.
for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved me as a friend, and you have believed that I came out from God.
28 Taani Aawa matappe ha alamiya yas; qassi alamiya aggada Aawakko baana” yaagis.
I came out from the Father, and have come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
29 Iya tamaareti zaaridi, “Hekko, ha77i neeni qonccen odaasa; leemison aykkoka odakka.
His disciples say; Behold, now you are talking openly, and speaking no parable.
30 Neeni ubbabaa ereyssa nuuni ha77i eroos; qassi nena oonikka oychchana mela neeni koyakka. Hessi nuna neeni Xoossafe kiitettidayssa ammanthees” yaagidosona.
Now we know that you know all things, and have no need that any one may ask you: in this we believe that you came out from God.
31 Yaatin, Yesuusi zaaridi enttako, “Ha77i ammaneetii?
Jesus responded to them, Do you now believe?
32 Hekko, hinttee, hintte soo hintte soo laalettiya wodeynne ta xalaala yeggi aggidi baqatiya wodey yaana; ha77ika yikichchis. Shin Aaway taara de7iya gisho ta ta xalaala gidikke.
Behold, the hour cometh, and is already come, that you must be scattered abroad, each one to his own place, and leave me alone: I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 Hintte taara de7ishe saroy hinttew daana mela taani hessa odas. Alamen de7ishe hintte waayettana. Shin minnite; taani alamiya xoonas” yaagis.
I have spoken these things to you, in order that you may have peace in me. In the world you have tribulation: but take courage; I have conquered the world.
