1 Hinttenoo, dureto, hintte bolla iita metoy yaa gisho yeekkitenne zeleelite.
Go to now, ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you.
2 Hintte shaloy buuqqis; hintte afilaykka bilan meetettis.
Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
3 Hintte worqqaynne hintte biray shi7is. He shi7ay hintte bolla markka gidana. I hintte asatethaa tamada maana. Hintte ha wurida qammatan hinttew shalo dagayeeta.
Your gold and your silver are rusted; and their rust shall be for a testimony against you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye have laid up your treasure in the last days.
4 Hintte gaden oothi pee7ida asaa kera miishiya qanxibeekketa. Hessi hintte bolla waasses. He asata waasoy wolqqaama Godaa haythan si7ettis.
Behold, the hire of the labourers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
5 Ha sa7an hintte ulo xalaalas qoppidi, injjen de7ideta. Shukas giigettida meheda hinttena dhiikkideta.
Ye have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure; ye have nourished your hearts in a day of slaughter.
6 Hinttera eqettanaw dandda7onna xillo asa bolla pirddideta iya wodhideta.
Ye have condemned, ye have killed the righteous [one]; he doth not resist you.
7 Ta ishato, Goday yaana gakkanaw genccite. Goshshanchchoy torchche iraynne sila iray yaana gakkanaw genccidi al77o kathaa naagidi waati gathi ekkiyako qoppite.
Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.
8 He goshshanchchuwada hintteka genccite. Godaa yuussay matattida gisho ufayssan naagite.
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
9 Ta ishato, Xoossay hintte bolla pirddonna mela issoy issuwa bolla zuuzummofite. Pirddeyssi penggen eqqis.
Murmur not, brethren, one against another, that ye be not judged: behold, the judge standeth before the doors.
10 Ta ishato, waayan genccida, Godaa sunthan odida nabeta leemiso oothidi ekkite.
Take, brethren, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spake in the name of the Lord.
11 Dandda7an genccidayssata nuuni anjjettidayssata goos. Iyoobey waanidi genccidaako hintte si7ideta. Goday wurssethan iya waati maaddidaakko be7ideta. I maarotinne qadhey kumida Godaa gidiya gisho hessa oothis.
Behold, we call them blessed which endured: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.
12 Shin ubbaafe sinthe, ta ishato, saluwan gidin woykko sa7an gidin woykko hara aybinkka caaqqofite. Xoossaa pirddan hintte gelonnaada hintte oday ee gidikko, “Ee” giite; akkay gidikko, “Akkay” giite.
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath: but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not under judgment.
13 Hintte giddon meto gakkiya oonikka de7ikko Xoossaa woosso. Ufayttiya oonikka de7ikko galatan yexxo.
Is any among you suffering? let him pray. Is any cheerful? let him sing praise.
14 Hinttefe harggettiya oonikka de7ikko woosa keetha cimata xeego. Entti Godaa sunthan shamaho zayte tiyidi iyaw Xoossaa woosso.
Is any among you sick? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 Ammanon woossida woosay hargganchchuwa pathana. Goday iya, harggiyafe denthana; I nagara oothidabaa gidikkoka Goday iya maarana.
and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.
16 Hessa gisho, hintte paxana mela hintte nagara issoy issuwas paaxitenne issoy issuwas woossite. Xillo asa woosay wolqqaama ooso oothees.
Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.
17 Eliyaasi nu mela ase. Iri sa7an bukkonna mela minthidi Xoossaa woossin heedzu laythinne usuppun ageena sa7an iri bukkibeenna.
Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.
18 Zaaridi I Xoossaa woossin saloppe iri bukkis; sa7aykka kathi mokkis.
And he prayed again; and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 Ta ishato, hinttefe oonikka tuma ogiyappe buutikko, haray iya tumaakko zaarikko,
My brethren, if any among you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 nagaranchchuwa iya bala ogiyappe zaariya oonikka, iya shemppuwa hayqoppe ashsheyssanne iya daro nagaraas maarota immeyssa ero.
let him know, that he which converteth a sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.
