Galaatiya 5

1 Nuuni la77atethan daana mela Kiristtoosi nuna aylletethaafe kessis. Hiza, minnidi eqqite; zaaridi aylletetha qambbaran geloppite.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

2 Ta, Phawuloosi, geyssa si7ite. Hintte qaxxarettanaw koykko, Kiristtoosi hinttena aykkoka maaddenna.

Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

3 Qaxxarettiya oonikka higgey kiittiya ubbaa polanaw besseyssa gujjada ta odays.

For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

4 Higge naagidi xillanaw koyeyssato, Kiristtoosappe shaakettideta; Xoossaa aadho keehatethaafe kunddideta.

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

5 Shin nuuni Xoossaa Ayyaana baggara ammanon xillanaw ufayssan naagoos.

For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

6 Hiza, Kiristtoos Yesuusan de7ikko, siiqon qoncciya ammanoppe attin qaxxarettin, qaxxarettonna aggin nuna aykkoka maaddenna.

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

7 Kase hintte lo77o woxxeeta, shin ha77i tumaas kiitettonna mela hinttena diggiday oonee?

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

8 Hayssa mela iita cimoy hinttena xeegida Xoossaafe yibeenna.

This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.

9 Hessika, “Guutha irshshoy munuqa ubbaa denthees.” geetettidi xaafettidayssa mela.

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

10 Hinttew hara qofi baynnayssas ta Godan ammanettays. Shin hinttena buqiya oonikka Xoossafe ba pirddaa ekkana.

I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

11 Ta ishato, ta ha77i gakkanaw qaxxaro sabbakkiyabaa gidikko, yaatin tana ays gooddonaa? Hessi tuma gidiyakko Kiristtoosa masqaliyabaa tamaarssoy asaas dhube gidennashin.

And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

12 Hinttena buqeyssati qaxxaretetha xalaala gidonnashin, banttana qaaratiyakkoka ta dosays.

I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

13 Ta ishato, hintte la77a daanaw xeegettideta. Gidoshin, hintte la77atethay asho amo polanaw hinttew gaaso gidoppo; hessafe aathidi issoy issuwa siiqon maaddite.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

14 Higge ubbay, “Ase needa dosa” yaagiya issi qaalan qashettis.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15 Shin hintte issoy issuwara saxetiyabaanne meetettiyabaa gidikko, hintte woli wurssonna mela naagettite.

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

16 Hiza, ta hinttew odays; Ayyaanan de7ite; hintte asho amuwaa poloppite.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 Asho amoy Ayyaana amuwaara morkke; qassi Ayyaana amoykka asho amuwaara morkke. Entti issoy issuwara ixettiya gisho hintte dosiyabaa oothanaw dandda7ekketa.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 Shin Ayyaanay hinttena kaalethiyabaa gidikko higgey hinttena haarenna.

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Asho oosoti erettidayssata; enttika, laymatethi, tunatethi, qayxe,

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 eeqa goynno, bita, morkketethi, kachchi, qanaate, hanqo, bana doso, shaaketethi, iita tobbe

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 gene, matho, yethinne hessa hessa melata. Kase ta hinttew odidayssada ha77ika ta hinttew odays. Hayssa melabata ootheyssati Xoossaa kawotethaa laattokona.

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 Shin Ayyaana ayfey, siiqo, ufayssi, sarotethi, dandda7a, keehatethi, lo77otethi, ammano,

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 ashkketethi, bana haaro. Hayssa melabata ixxiya higgey baawa.

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 Kiristtoos Yesuusabaa gididayssati bantta ashuwa iya iita qofaranne iya amuwaara issife masqaliya bolla kaqqidosona.

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 Nu Ayyaanan de7iyabaa gidikko, nuna Ayyaanay kaaletho.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Ane issoy issuwa yiloyishenne qanaatishe coo ceeqetteyssa aggoos.

Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
