< 1 Ximotiyoosa 4 >
1 Yaana wodiyan balethiya ayyaanatanne tuna ayyaanata timirttiya kaallidi, issi issi asay ammanuwa kaddanayssa Geeshsha Ayyaanay qonccisidi odis.
Now the Spirit says expressly, that, in the last times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and teachings suggested by demons,
2 Hessa mela timirttey entta kahay doccin, asaa balethiya worddanchcho asttamaaretappe yees.
through the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their conscience,
3 Hessa mela asati ekkonne gelo qassi issi issi kathata moonna mela diggoosona. Shin ammaneyssatinne tumaa ereyssati Xoossaa galati woossidi maana mela Xoossay kathi medhdhis.
who forbid to marry, and command to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe, and know the truth.
4 Xoossay medhdhida ubbabay lo77o. Xoossaa galatidi miikko wora wodhdhiyabay aybikka baawa.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving;
5 Ubbabay Xoossaa qaalaninne woosan geeshshi gidees.
for it is sanctified by the word of God, and by prayer.
6 Hessa gisho, neeni ha timirttiya ammaneyssata tamaarssiko, nu ammanuwaninne lo77o timirttiya kiitettada diccida Kiristtoos Yesuusa lo77o aylle gidana.
By recommending these things to the attention of the brethren, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, being nourished with the words of the faith, and of good teaching, which you have fully known.
7 Shin go77i baynna tuma gidonna odappenne cima maccasaa haysiyappe baqata. Tuma ayyaana de7on daanaw nena loohisa.
But reject those profane and old-womanish fables, and exercise yourself for godliness.
8 Asi ba bolla miinthanaw oothiya oosoy guuthi maaddees. Shin tuma ayyaana de7on bana loohisoy ha77ika merinawukka de7o immiya ufayssi de7iya gisho ubbaas maaddees.
For the exercise of the body is profitable for little; but godliness is profitable for all things, and has the promise of the life that now is, and also of that which is to come.
9 Ha qaalay asa ubbay ekkanaw bessiya tuma oda.
This is a true saying, and worthy of all acceptation:
10 Nuuni asa ubbaa, ubbaafe aathidi ammaneyssata ashshiya de7o Xoossaafe ekkana gidi ufayssan naagiya gisho, hessas nuuni ooson daaburosinne baaxetoos.
for to this end we both labor, and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
11 Hayssa kiittanne tamaarssa.
These things command and teach.
12 Neeni yalaga gidiya gisho, nena oonikka kadhoppo. Shin ammaneyssatas neeni odan, ooson, siiqon, ammanoninne geeshshatethan leemiso gida.
Let no one despise your youth; but be an example to the believers, in word, in behavior, in love, in spirit, in faithfulness, in purity.
13 Taani yaana gakkanaw asaas Geeshsha maxaafaa nabbabon, sabbakoninne tamaarsson minna.
Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to teaching.
14 Tinbbitey odettin, cimati bantta kushiya ne bolla wothida wode neeni ekkida, nenan de7iya Geeshsha Ayyaana imotaa kadhoppa.
Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you according to prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.
15 Ne dichchay asa ubbaas qonccana mela hessa mintha qoppa; hayssa ubba wode ootha.
Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them, that your advancement may be manifest in all things.
16 Ne huu7esinne ne timirttiyas naageeta. Neeni hessa ubba wode oothiko nenanne nena si7eyssata ashshaasa.
Take heed to yourself, and to your teaching; continue in them; for by doing this, you will save both yourself, and those who hear you.
