1 Hiza, woosa keethaa cimatara cima gididayssi, Kiristtoosa waayiya markkatteysinne qonccanaw de7iya bonchchuwa shaakettanaw de7iya taani, hintte giddon de7iya cimata zorays.
The elders who are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 Hintte aawatethaafe garssan de7iya Xoossaa wudiya heemmite. Xoossay koyeyssada dosanaappe attin un77ettidi heemmofite. Qassi miishe koshshan gidonnashin, haggaazanaw de7iya lo77o qofan heemmite.
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight of it, not by constraint, but willingly; not for dishonest gain, but from a ready mind;
3 Hintte aawatethaafe garssan de7iya wudiyas leemiso giditeppe attin godatoppite.
Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock.
4 Heemmeyssata halaqay qoncciya wode qolettonna bonchcho kallachcha hintte ekkana.
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 Hessadakka, yalagato, cimatas haarettite. Hintte issoy issuwas ashkke gidite. Geeshsha Maxaafan, “Xoossay otoranchchota ixxees, shin ashkketas aadho keehatethaa immees” yaagees.
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves to the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Xoossay ba wode hinttena bonchchana mela wolqqaama Xoossaa kusheppe garssan hinttena kawushshite.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 I hinttew qoppiya gisho hinttena hirggisiya ubbaa iya bolla yeggite.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Hintte morkkey Xalahey, mittiyabaa koyidi, gaammoda gudishe hintte matara yuuya gisho hinttena haaritenne barkkite.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Alamen de7iya hintte ishati hessada waaye ekkeyssa eridi, ammanon minnidi, Xalahiyara eqettite.
Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 Ba merinaa bonchchuwas Kiristtoos Yesuusa baggara hinttena xeegida aadho keehatetha ubbaa Xoossay, guutha wodes hintte waayettidappe guye, I ba huu7en hinttena shiishana, katisana, minthidi essana, xaalisana. (aiōnios g166)
But the God of all grace, who hath called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you. (aiōnios g166)
To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
12 Ammanettida ishaa gada ta ekkiya Sillaase baggara ha dabddaabbiya hinttew qanthan xaafas. Ta hessa hinttew xaafiday, hinttena zoranawunne Xoossaa aadho keehatethay tuma gideyssa markkattanaassa. He aadho keehatethan minnidi eqqite.
By Silvanus, a faithful brother to you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which ye stand.
13 Hinttera issife doorettida Baabiloonen de7iya woosa keetha asaynne ta na7aa Marqqoosi hinttena, “Saro saro” yaagees.
The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, greeteth you; and so doth Mark my son.
14 Siiqo yeeretetha yeerettishe, issoy issuwa sarothite. Kiristtoosan de7iya hintte ubbaas saroy gido. Amin7i.
Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
