1 Yohaannisa 5
1 Yesuusa, I Kiristtoosa yaagidi, ammaniyaa oonikka Xoossaa na7a. Aawa siiqiya oonikka iya Na7aakka siiqees.
Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ, has been begotten by God; and every one who loves the begetter, loves also the begotten by him.
2 Nuuni Xoossaa siiqiya gishonne iya kiitaa naagiya gisho Xoossaa nayta siiqeyssa eroos.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 Nuuni Xoossaa siiqikko, iya kiitata naagoos. Iya kiitati deexo gidokkona.
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not burdensome;
4 Ays giikko, Xoossaa na7a gidiya oonikka ha alamiya xoonanaw dandda7ees. Nuuni ha alamiya xoonanay nu ammanuwana.
because, every one that is begotten by God, overcomes the world. And this is the victory which overcomes the world, even our faith.
5 Alamiya xoonanaw dandda7ey oonee? Yesuusi Xoossaa Na7aa gideyssa ammaniyaa asa xalaali xoonana.
Who is he that overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 Yesuus Kiristtoosi haatha xinqqatiyaranne ba hayquawa suuthara yis. I, haatharanne suuthara yisippe attin haatha xalaalara yibeenna. Geeshsha Ayyaanay tuma gidiya gisho, hessi tuma gideyssa markkattees.
This is her who came by water and blood, even Jesus the Christ; not by the water only, but by the water and the blood.
7 Heedzu markkati de7oosona.
And it is the Spirit who testified; because the Spirit is the truth.
8 Hessati, Geeshsha Ayyaana, haathaanne suuthaa. Ha heedzata markkatethay issino.
Indeed, there are three who bear testimony: the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and these three agree in one.
9 Nu asay markkatteyssa ammanoos. Shin Xoossaa markkatethay asayssafe daro aadhdhees. Xoossay ba Na7aas markkattida markkatethay hayssa.
If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater. Now, this is the testimony of God, which he has testified concerning his Son.
10 Xoossaa Na7aa ammaniyaa uraa wozanan ha markkatethay de7ees. Xoossaa ammanonna oonikka Xoossay ba Na7aas markkattida markkatethaa ammaniboonna gisho, Xoossaa worddanchcho oothees.
(He who believes on the Son of God, has the testimony in himself. He who believes not God, has made him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony, which God has testified concerning his Son.)
11 Hiza, markkatethay hayssa; Xoossay nuus merinaa de7o immis; he de7oykka iya Na7an de7ees yaageyssa. (aiōnios g166)
Now this is the testimony, that God has given to us eternal life: and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
12 Xoossaa Na7ay de7iya oodeskka de7oy de7ees. Xoossaa Na7ay baynna oodeskka de7oy baawa.
He who has the Son, has this life; he who has not the Son of God, has not this life.
13 Xoossaa Na7an ammaniyaa hinttew merinaa de7oy de7eyssa hintte erana mela hayssa hinttew xaafas. (aiōnios g166)
These things I have written to you, that you may know that you have eternal life--that you may continue to believe on the name of the Son of God. (aiōnios g166)
14 Xoossaa sheniyada aybibaakka iya woossiko, I si7eyssa nuuni eriya gisho iyan ammanettos.
And this is the confidence which we have with him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hearkens to us.
15 Nuuni woossiya ubbaa I si7eyssa erikko, nuuni woossiyabaa I immanayssa eroos.
And if we know that he hearkens to us, concerning whatever we ask; we know that we shall obtain the petitions which we have asked from him.
16 Oonikka ba ishay hayqo bessonna nagara oothishin be7ikko, Xoossaa iyaw woossanaw bessees. Hayqo bessonna nagara oothidayssatas Xoossay de7o immana. Hayqo bessiya nagari de7ees. Taani hinttena hessas Xoossaa woossite giikke.
If any one see his brother sinning a sin, not to death, let him ask, and he will grant to him life, for those who sin not to death. There is a sin leading to death. I do not say concerning it, that you should ask.
17 Iita ooso ubbay nagara, shin hayqo bessonna nagari de7ees.
All unrighteousness is sin: but there is a sin not to death.
18 Xoossaa Na7ay iya naagiya gisho, Xoossaa na7a gidida oonikka nagaran ubba wode de7onnayssa nuuni eroos. Xalahey iya qohanaw dandda7enna.
We know that whoever has been begotten by God, does not sin; but he who is begotten by God, guards himself, and the wicked on does not lay hold on him.
19 Nuuni Xoossassa gideyssanne ha kumetha alamey xalahen haaretteyssa eroos.
We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies under the wicked one.
20 Nuuni tuma Xoossaa eranaada Xoossaa Na7ay yidayssanne nuus akeeka immidayssa eroos. Nuuni iya na7aa, Yesuus Kiristtoosa baggara tuma Xoossan de7oos. Yesuusi tuma Xoossaanne merinaa de7uwa. (aiōnios g166)
Moreover, we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, that we might know him that is true; and we are in him that is true--in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and the eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
21 Ta nayto, eeqatappe hintte haakkite.
Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
