1 Qoronttoosa 2

1 Ta ishato, taani koyro Xoossaa qaala hinttew odashe yida wode, doona bilatethaninne cinccatethan yabiikke.

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellence of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.

2 Taani hinttera de7iya wode masqaliya bolla kaqettida Yesuus Kiristtoosappe attin harabaa eranaw koyikke gada ta qofa qachchas.

For I determined not to know any thing among you but Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

3 Ta hinttera de7iya wode daaburan, yashshaninne daro kokkorssan de7as.

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling:

4 Ta kiitaynne ta timirttey doona bilatethaninne cinccatethan gidonnashin, Geeshsha Ayyaana wolqqaa qonccisethaana.

and my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

5 Hessika, hintte ammanoy Xoossaa wolqqaanappe attin asa cinccatethan zempponna melassa.

that your faith might not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6 Ayyaanan de7on diccidayssatas nuuni cinccatethaa qaalan odoos. Shin he cinccatethay, ha sa7aa cinccatethaa woykko dhayanaw de7iya ha sa7aa haareyssata cinccatethaa gidenna. (aiōn g165)

Yet we speak wisdom among the perfect; but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are brought to nought: (aiōn g165)

7 Shin nuuni odiya cinccetethay, daro wodeppe sinthe Xoossay nu bonchchuwas giigisidayssanne geemmidi de7iya xuura cinccatethaa. (aiōn g165)

but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, even that which had been hidden, which God predestined before the ages, for our glory, (aiōn g165)

8 Ha sa7aa haareyssatappe oonikka ha cinccatethaa eribeenna. Entti eridabaa gidiyakko, bonchcho Godaa masqaliya bolla kaqqokona. (aiōn g165)

which none of the rulers of this age knew; for, had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. (aiōn g165)

9 Shin Geeshsha Maxaafan, “Ayfey be7iboonnabaa, haythi si7iboonnabaa, wozani qoppiboonabaa, Xoossay bana siiqeyssatas giigisis” yaagees.

But, as it is written: Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and into the heart of man have not entered the things which God has prepared for them that love him.

10 Xoossay ba xuuraa ba Ayyaana baggara nuus qonccisis. Geeshsha Ayyaanay hari attoshin geemmida Xoossaa xuura ubbaa pilggees.

But God has revealed them to us through his Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

11 Asan de7iya asa ayyaanaappe attin asabaa oonikka erenna. Hessadakka, Xoossabaa Xoossaa Ayyaanaappe attin oonikka erenna.

For what man knows the things of man, but the spirit of man which is in him? Even so, the things of God no one knows, but the Spirit of God.

12 Xoossay nuus coo immidabaa nu erana mela Xoossaa Ayyaanaa ekkidappe attin ha sa7aa ayyaana ekkibookko.

And we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we may know the things that are freely given to us by God:

13 Nuuni ayyaanabaa, ayyaana asatas asa cinccatethan gidonnashin, Xoossaa Ayyaanay immiya cinccatethan tamaarssos.

which things also we speak, not in words taught by man’s wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

14 Shin Geeshsha Ayyaanay baynna asi Xoossaa Ayyaana imotata ekkenna. Hessi iyaw eeyatethi; ubbay Geeshsha Ayyaanan pilggettiya gisho, I eranaw dandda7enna.

But an animal man receives not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he can not know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 Shin Geeshsha Ayyaani de7iya asi ubbabaa pilggees, shin iya oonikka pilggenna.

But the spiritual man discerns all things; yet he himself is discerned by no one.

16 Geeshsha Maxaafan, “Godaa wozanaa erey oonee? Iya zoranaw dandda7ey oonee?” geetettidi xaafettidayssa mela. Shin nuus Kiristtoosa wozani de7ees.

For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
