< Zekaria 2 >
1 Ningĩ ngĩtiira maitho, na rĩrĩ, hau mbere yakwa ngĩona mũndũ wanyiitĩte rũrigi rũa gũthima na guoko gwake.
And I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a man, and in his hand a measuring line.
2 Ngĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Wee-rĩ, wathiĩ kũ?” Nake akĩnjookeria atĩrĩ, “Ndathiĩ gũthima itũũra rĩa Jerusalemu, nĩguo menye wariĩ o na ũraihu warĩo.”
And I said to him, Whither go you? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth of it, and what is the length of it.
3 Na rĩrĩ, mũraika ũcio wanjaragĩria agĩthiĩ, nake mũraika ũngĩ agĩũka kũmũtũnga,
And, behold, the angel that spoke with me stood [by], and another angel went forth to meet him,
4 akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Tengʼera wĩre mwanake ũcio atĩrĩ, ‘Jerusalemu rĩgaatuĩka itũũra inene rĩtarĩ thingo, nĩ ũndũ wa ũingĩ wa andũ na mahiũ marĩa magaakorwo kuo.’
and spoke to him, saying, Run and speak to that young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be fully inhabited by reason of the abundance of men and cattle in the midst of her.
5 Jehova ekuuga ũũ, ‘Niĩ mwene nĩ niĩ ngaatuĩka rũthingo rwa mwaki ndĩrĩthiũrũrũkĩrie, na nduĩke riiri thĩinĩ wa itũũra rĩu.’”
And I will be to her, says the Lord, a wall of fire round about, and I will be for a glory in the midst of her.
6 Jehova ekuuga ũũ, “Ũkai, ũkai! Ũrai muume bũrũri wa mwena wa gathigathini, nĩgũkorwo ndĩmũharaganĩirie mĩena yothe ĩna ĩrĩa yumaga huho cia igũrũ,” ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga.
Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, says the Lord: for I will gather you from the four winds of heaven, says the Lord,
7 “Ũka, wee Zayuni! Wĩthare, o wee ũtũũraga kwa Mwarĩ wa Babuloni!”
[even] to Sion: deliver yourselves, you that dwell [with] the daughter of Babylon.
8 Nĩgũkorwo Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe ekuuga atĩrĩ, “Thuutha wa kũũhe gĩtĩĩo, akĩndũma ngahũũrane na ndũrĩrĩ iria ciatahĩte indo cianyu. Nĩgũkorwo ũrĩa wothe ũmũhutagia inyuĩ nĩ kĩũma kĩa riitho rĩa Ngai ahutagia.
For thus says the Lord Almighty; After the glory has he sent me to the nations that spoiled you: for he that touches you is as one that touches the apple of his eye.
9 Ti-itherũ nĩngambararia guoko gwakwa ndĩmookĩrĩre, nacio ngombo ciao itahe indo ciao. Hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩguo mũkaamenya atĩ Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe nĩwe ũndũmĩte.
For, behold, I bring my hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to them that serve them: and you shall know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.
10 “Wee Mwarĩ wa Zayuni-rĩ, anĩrĩra na ũkene, nĩgũkorwo nĩndĩrooka gũtũũra gatagatĩ-inĩ kanyu,” ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga.
Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Sion: for, behold, I come, and will dwell in the midst of you, says the Lord.
11 “Mũthenya ũcio-rĩ, ndũrĩrĩ nyingĩ nĩikanyiitithanio na Jehova, na nĩmagatuĩka andũ akwa. Ngaatũũra gatagatĩ-inĩ kanyu na nĩmũkamenya atĩ Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe nĩwe ũndũmĩte kũrĩ inyuĩ.”
And many nations shall flee for refuge to the Lord in that day, and they shall be for a people to him, and they shall dwell in the midst of you: and you shall know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.
12 Jehova nĩakagaya Juda gũtuĩke igai rĩake bũrũri-inĩ ũrĩa mũtheru, na nĩagethuurĩra Jerusalemu o rĩngĩ.
And the Lord shall inherit Juda his portion in the holy [land], and he will yet choose Jerusalem.
13 Hoorerai harĩ Jehova inyuĩ kĩrĩndĩ gĩa thĩ tondũ nĩeyarahũrĩte kuuma gĩikaro-ini gĩake gĩtheru.
Let all flesh fear before the Lord: for he has risen up from his holy clouds.
