1 No wee-rĩ, no nginya ũrutanage maũndũ marĩa maringaine na ũrutani ũrĩa mwagĩrĩru.
But do, thou, speak the things which become the healthful instruction: —
2 Rutaga athuuri arĩa akũrũ maikarage matarĩ arĩĩu, na marĩ a gũtĩĩka, na a kwĩgirĩrĩria merirĩria ma mwĩrĩ, na marĩ arũmu ũhoro-inĩ wa gwĩtĩkia, na makoragwo marĩ na wendani o na ũkirĩrĩria.
That, aged men, be, sober, grave, sober-minded, healthy in their faith, love, endurance;
3 O nao atumia arĩa akũrũ marutage gũikaraga na mĩikarĩre ya ũtheru, na matigatuĩke a gũcambania o na kana mamenyere kũnyuuaga ndibei nyingĩ matuĩke ta ngombo ciayo, no nĩ matuĩke a kũrutanaga maũndũ marĩa mega,
Aged women, in the same way, in deportment, as becometh sacred persons, not given to intrigue, nor yet, to much wine, enslaved, teachers of virtue, —
4 nĩgeetha mahote kũruta atumia arĩa ethĩ kwenda athuuri ao na ciana ciao,
That they may constrain the young women to be, lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children,
5 na matuĩke a kwĩgirĩrĩria merirĩria ma mwĩrĩ, na atheru, na mehangʼagie na wĩra o wa kwao mũciĩ, na matuĩke atugi, na maathĩkagĩre athuuri ao, nĩgeetha gũtikanagĩe mũndũ ũngĩcambia kiugo kĩa Ngai.
soberminded, chaste, workers at home, good, submitting themselves to their own husbands, —that, the word of God, be not defamed;
6 O ta ũguo-rĩ, ũmagĩrĩria aanake, na ũmataarage matuĩke a kwĩgirĩrĩria merirĩria ma mwĩrĩ.
The younger men, in the same way, exhort thou to be sober-minded:
7 Maũndũ-inĩ mothe, tuĩka kĩonereria gĩa gwĩkaga wega maũndũ-inĩ mothe. Rĩrĩa ũkũrutana onanagia ũrũngĩrĩru, na ũtarĩ na itherũ,
In all things, shewing, thyself, an ensample of noble works, —in thine instruction, uncorruptness, gravity,
8 o na waragie ciugo iria ciagĩrĩire, itangĩrutĩka mahĩtia, nĩgeetha arĩa matũkararagia maconorithio tondũ wa kwaga ũndũ mũũru mangĩaria igũrũ riitũ.
healthful discourse that cannot be condemned, in order that, he that is of the contrary part, may relent, having nothing to say concerning us that is disparaging:
9 Taaraga ngombo atĩ ciathĩkagĩre aathani a cio maũndũ-inĩ mothe, na igeragie kũmakenia, no itigacookanagĩrie nao,
Servants, unto their own masters, to be submitting themselves in all things, to be, well-pleasing, not gainsaying,
10 na itikamaiyage indo ciao, no cionanagie atĩ no ciĩhokwo kũna, nĩguo itũmage ũrutani wa ũhoro wa Ngai Mũhonokia witũ wendekage maũndũ-inĩ mothe.
not taking anything away, shewing, all good faith, —that, the instruction which is of our Saviour God, they may adorn in all things.
11 Nĩ ũndũ wega wa Ngai ũrĩa ũrehaga ũhonokio nĩũguũranĩirio kũrĩ andũ othe.
For the favour of God, bringing salvation for all men, hath shone forth,
12 Wega ũcio wa Ngai nĩguo ũtũrutaga kũregana na maũndũ marĩa matarĩ ma kwĩyamũrĩra Ngai, na merirĩria mooru ma gũkũ thĩ, na gũtũũra twĩgirĩrĩirie merirĩria ma mwĩrĩ, na gũtũũra na mĩtũũrĩre ya ũngai na mĩrũngĩrĩru na ya kwĩyamũrĩra Ngai mahinda-inĩ maya tũrĩ, (aiōn g165)
Putting us under discipline—in order that, —denying ourselves of ungodliness and worldly covetings, in a soberminded and righteous and godly manner, we should live, in the present age, (aiōn g165)
13 o tũgĩetagĩrĩra kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro kĩrĩa kĩrĩ na kĩrathimo, hĩndĩ ĩrĩa gũkaaguũranĩrio riiri wa Jesũ Kristũ, ũrĩa arĩ Ngai witũ mũnene na Mũhonokia.
Prepared to welcome the happy hope and forthshining of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Christ Jesus, —
14 Nake nĩwe werutire nĩ ũndũ witũ, nĩguo atũkũũre waganu-inĩ wothe, na atherie andũ matuĩke ake kĩũmbe, arĩa marĩ na kĩyo gĩa gwĩkaga maũndũ mega.
Who gave himself up in our behalf, that he might redeem us from all manner of lawlessness, and purify for himself a people as his own treasure—zealous of noble works.
15 Rĩu-rĩ, maũndũ macio nĩmo wagĩrĩirwo nĩkũrutanaga. Ũmanagĩrĩria na ũkaananagie wĩ na wathani wothe. Ndũkanareke mũndũ o na ũrĩkũ akũire.
As to these things, be speaking and exhorting and reproving, with all manner of precept: let, no one, disregard thee!
