< Rwĩmbo 8 >

1 Naarĩ korwo no ũtuĩke ta mũrũ wa maitũ, ũrĩa wongire nyondo cia maitũ! Hĩndĩ ĩyo, ingĩgũtũnga nja, ndaakũmumunya, na gũtirĩ mũndũ o na ũrĩkũ ũngĩĩmena.
Oh that you were like my brother, who nursed from the breasts of my mother! If I found you outside, I would kiss you; yes, and no one would despise me.
2 Ingĩgũtongoria, ngũtware nyũmba ya maitũ, ũcio wandutire maũndũ. Ingĩkũhe ndibei ĩrĩa njamithie wega ũnyue, o yo ngogoyo ya mĩkomamanga yakwa.
I would lead you, bringing you into the house of my mother, who would instruct me. I would have you drink spiced wine, of the juice of my pomegranate.
3 Guoko gwake kwa ũmotho akũigĩte rungu rwa mũtwe wakwa, nakuo guoko gwake kwa ũrĩo gũkaahĩmbĩria.
His left hand would be under my head. His right hand would embrace me.
4 Inyuĩ aarĩ a Jerusalemu, ndamwĩhĩtithia atĩrĩ: Mũtikoimbuthũre wendo o na kana mũwarahũre, o nginya wĩrirĩrie kwarahũka guo mwene.
I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, that you not stir up, nor awaken love, until it so desires.
5 Nũũ ũyũ ũroka ambatĩte oimĩte werũ-inĩ, etiiranĩtie na mwendwa wake? Mwendwa Rungu-inĩ rwa mũtĩ wa matunda nĩho ndakwarahũrire ũrĩ toro; hau nĩho nyũkwa aagĩĩrĩire nda yaku, o hau nĩho ũcio warĩ na ruo rwa kũrũmwo aagũciarĩire.
Who is this who comes up from the wilderness, leaning on her beloved? Beloved Under the apple tree I awakened you. There your mother conceived you. There she was in labour and bore you.
6 Njĩkĩra ta mũhũũri ngoro-inĩ yaku, ũũhũũre ta mũhũũri guoko-inĩ gwaku; amu wendo ũrĩ hinya o ta gĩkuũ, ũiru waguo ũmĩtie ngoro o ta mbĩrĩra. Ũcinaga o ta mwaki ũrakana, na o ta rũrĩrĩmbĩ rũnene mũno rwa Jehova. (Sheol h7585)
Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm; for love is strong as death. Jealousy is as cruel as Sheol. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a very flame of the LORD. (Sheol h7585)
7 Maaĩ maingĩ matingĩhota kũhoria wendo; njũũĩ itingĩhota kũũthereria. Korwo mũndũ no aheane ũtonga wothe wa nyũmba yake nĩ ũndũ wa wendo-rĩ, no kũnyũrũrio ũngĩnyũrũrio o biũ.
Many waters can’t quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned.
We have a little sister. She has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister in the day when she is to be spoken for?
If she is a wall, we will build on her a turret of silver. If she is a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar.
10 Niĩ ndĩ rũthingo, nacio nyondo ciakwa ihaana ta mĩthiringo mĩraihu na igũrũ. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio maitho-inĩ make-rĩ, nduĩkĩte o ta mũndũ ũtũmaga aiganĩre.
I am a wall, and my breasts like towers, then I was in his eyes like one who found peace.
Solomon had a vineyard at Baal Hamon. He leased out the vineyard to keepers. Each was to bring a thousand shekels of silver for its fruit.
12 No mũgũnda wakwa wa mĩthabibũ nĩ wakwa o niĩ nyiki; cekeri icio 1,000 nĩ ciaku wee Solomoni; nacio cekeri 200 nĩ cia arĩa marĩmagĩra maciaro maguo.
My own vineyard is before me. The thousand are for you, Solomon, two hundred for those who tend its fruit.
13 Atĩrĩrĩ, wee ũikaraga mĩgũnda-inĩ hamwe na arata a thiritũ yaku, reke o na niĩ njigue mũgambo waku.
You who dwell in the gardens, with friends in attendance, let me hear your voice!
14 Umagara na ihenya mwendwa wakwa, ũtuĩke ta thiiya, kana ta thwariga nyanake ĩrĩ irĩma-inĩ iria ĩrĩ mahuti manungi wega.
Come away, my beloved! Be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of spices!
