< Aroma 14 >
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, [but] not to doubtful disputations.
2 Wĩtĩkio wa mũndũ ũmwe-rĩ, nĩũmwĩtĩkĩrĩtie kũrĩa irio cia mĩthemba yothe, no mũndũ ũngĩ, ũrĩa ũrĩ wĩtĩkio mũhũthũ, arĩĩaga o mĩthemba ya nyeni.
For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3 Mũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩĩaga mĩthemba yothe ya irio ndakae kũmena mũndũ ũrĩa ũtekaga ũguo, nake mũndũ ũrĩa ũtarĩĩaga indo imwe-rĩ, ndakae gũtuĩra ciira mũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩĩaga ciothe tondũ Ngai nĩamwĩtĩkĩrĩtie.
Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5 Mũndũ ũmwe-rĩ, onaga ta kũrĩ mũthenya ũmwe mũtheru kũrĩ ĩrĩa ĩngĩ; nake mũndũ ũngĩ akoona mĩthenya yothe no ũndũ ũmwe. O mũndũ nĩemenyere wega na ngoro yake.
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 Mũndũ ũrĩa wonaga mũthenya ũmwe ũrĩ wa mwanya-rĩ, ekaga ũguo nĩ ũndũ wa Mwathani. Nake ũrĩa ũrĩĩaga nyama-rĩ, arĩĩaga nĩ ũndũ wa Mwathani, nĩgũkorwo nĩ Ngai acookagĩria ngaatho; nake ũrĩa ũtacirĩĩaga-rĩ, ekaga ũguo nĩ ũndũ wa Mwathani, na nĩ Ngai acookagĩria ngaatho.
He that regardeth the day, regardeth [it] unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard [it]. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7 Nĩgũkorwo gũtirĩ o na ũmwe witũ ũtũũraga nĩ ũndũ wake mwene, na gũtirĩ o na ũmwe witũ ũkuaga nĩ ũndũ wake mwene.
For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio tũngĩkorwo tũrĩ muoyo kana tũkuĩte-rĩ, tũrĩ o a Mwathani.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10 Wee-rĩ, ũgũtuĩra mũrũ kana mwarĩ wa Ithe wanyu ciira nĩkĩ? Kana ũkũmena mũrũ kana mwarĩ wa ithe wanyu nĩkĩ? Nĩgũkorwo ithuothe nĩtũkarũgama mbere ya gĩtĩ gĩa ciira kĩa Ngai.
But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 O ta ũrĩa kwandĩkĩtwo atĩrĩ: “‘Ti-itherũ, o ta ũrĩa niĩ ndũũraga muoyo, iru o rĩothe nĩrĩgaturio mbere yakwa; naruo rũrĩmĩ o ruothe nĩrũkoimbũrĩra Ngai,’ ũguo nĩguo Mwathani ekuuga.”
For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 Hakĩrĩ ũguo-rĩ, o ũmwe witũ nĩakaheana ũhoro wake mwene mbere ya Ngai.
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio nĩtũgĩtige gũtuanĩra ciira ithuĩ ene. Handũ ha ũguo-rĩ, kaba mũtue na meciiria manyu atĩ mũtigatũma mũrũ kana mwarĩ wa ithe wanyu ahĩngwo kana agwe njĩra-inĩ.
Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in [his] brother’s way.
14 Niĩ nĩmenyete wega biũ ndĩ thĩinĩ wa Mwathani Jesũ, atĩ gũtirĩ irio irĩ thaahu cio nyene. No rĩrĩ, mũndũ ũrĩa wonaga kĩndũ ta kĩrĩ thaahu-rĩ, ũcio harĩ we kĩndũ kĩu nĩ kĩrĩ thaahu.
I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that [there is] nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him [it is] unclean.
But if thy brother be grieved with [thy] meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
16 Mũtikanareke ũndũ ũrĩa muonaga ũrĩ mwega ũtuĩke wa gũcambio.
Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
17 Nĩgũkorwo ũthamaki wa Ngai ti ũhoro wa kũrĩa na kũnyua, no nĩ wa ũthingu, na thayũ o na gĩkeno iria ciumaga kũrĩ Roho Mũtheru,
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18 tondũ mũndũ o wothe ũrĩa ũtungatagĩra Kristũ na njĩra icio nĩakenagia Ngai, o na akoonagwo arĩ mwega nĩ andũ.
For he that in these things serveth Christ [is] acceptable to God, and approved of men.
19 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, nĩtwĩkĩragei kĩyo gĩa gwĩkaga maũndũ marĩa marehaga ũhoro wa thayũ na magatũma tuonganĩrĩre hinya.
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
20 Mũtikanathũkie wĩra wa Ngai nĩ ũndũ wa irio. Irio ciothe nĩ theru, no rĩrĩ, nĩ ũũru mũndũ kũrĩa kĩndũ o gĩothe kĩrĩa kĩngĩhĩtithia mũndũ ũrĩa ũngĩ.
For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed [are] pure; but [it is] evil for that man who eateth with offence.
21 Nĩ kaba kwaga kũrĩa nyama, kana kũnyua ndibei o na kana gwĩka ũndũ ũngĩ o na ũrĩkũ ũrĩa ũngĩtũma mũrũ kana mwarĩ wa Ithe wanyu ahĩtithio.
[It is] good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor [any thing] whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, ũndũ ũrĩa wĩtĩkĩtie ũkoniĩ maũndũ macio-rĩ, nĩũmenyeke gatagatĩ gaku na Ngai. Kũrathimwo-rĩ, nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa ũtarĩ ũndũ angĩĩcuukĩra nĩ ũndũ wa kĩndũ kĩrĩa onaga kĩrĩ kĩega agĩĩka.
Hast thou faith? have [it] to thyself before God. Happy [is] he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
23 No rĩrĩ, mũndũ angĩkorwo arĩ na nganja, acooke arĩe irio iria arĩ na nganja nacio, mũndũ ũcio nĩetuĩrĩire ciira, tondũ kũrĩa gwake gũtiumanĩte na wĩtĩkio; naguo ũndũ o wothe ũtoimanĩte na wĩtĩkio nĩ mehia.
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because [he eateth] not of faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin.
