< Kũguũrĩrio 18 >
1 Thuutha wa maũndũ macio nĩndonire mũraika ũngĩ agĩikũrũka oimĩte igũrũ arĩ na ũhoti mũnene mũno, nayo thĩ ĩkĩarĩrwo nĩ ũkengi wake.
After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory.
2 Nake akĩanĩrĩra na mũgambo mũnene, akiuga atĩrĩ: “Nĩrĩgũu! Babuloni itũũra rĩrĩa inene-rĩ, nĩrĩgwĩte! Nĩrĩtuĩkĩte gĩikaro kĩa ndaimono, na rĩgatuĩka gĩtũũro gĩa gũthaakĩrwo nĩ ngoma o yothe thũku, rĩgatuĩka gĩtũũro kĩa nyoni ciothe iria irĩ thaahu na thũũre.
He cried out with a mighty voice, “Fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, and a haunt for every unclean and hated bird.
3 Nĩgũkorwo ndũrĩrĩ ciothe nĩinyuĩte ndibei ĩrĩa ya maũndũ mooru ya ũtharia wake. Nao athamaki a thĩ nĩmatharirie nake, nao onjorithia a thĩ magĩtongio nĩ mũtũũrĩre wake wa mĩago mĩkĩru.”
For all the nations have fallen because of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich from the power of her luxury.”
4 Ningĩ ngĩigua mũgambo ũngĩ uumĩte igũrũ ũkiuga atĩrĩ: “Inyuĩ andũ akwa, umai kũrĩ we, nĩgeetha mũtikagwatanĩre na mehia make, na nĩguo mũtikae kwamũkĩra mĩthiro yake;
Then I heard another voice from heaven say, “Come out of her, my people, so that you do not participate in her sins, and so that you do not receive any of her plagues;
5 nĩgũkorwo mehia make nĩmeiganĩrĩire magakinya o igũrũ, nake Ngai nĩaririkanĩte mawaganu make.
for her sins are heaped as high as heaven, and God has remembered her unrighteous acts.
6 Mũheei o ta ũrĩa araheanaga; mũrĩhei maita meerĩ ma ũrĩa ekĩte. Gĩkombe kĩrĩa aramũringagĩria-rĩ, mũringĩriei kĩo maita meerĩ.
Render to her as she herself has rendered; make it double, as she has done, even according to her works. Mix a double portion for her in the cup she has mixed.
As much as she has glorified herself and lived in luxury, give her the same amount of torment and mourning, for in her heart she says, ‘I am like a queen; I am not a widow and will never see mourning.’
Therefore her plagues will come in a single day— death, mourning, and famine. She will be burned up with fire, for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”
The kings of the earth who have committed fornication with her and lived in luxury with her will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning.
10 Nao makaarũgama haraaya nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtigĩra kĩnyariirĩko gĩake, nao marĩre, makiugaga atĩrĩ: “‘Ĩiya-ĩ! Ĩiya-ĩ, wee itũũra inene, wee Babuloni, itũũra rĩa hinya! Ituĩro rĩaku rĩrĩ gũkinya ithaa-inĩ o rĩmwe!’
In fear of her torment they will stand at a distance and say, “Alas, alas, for the great city, Babylon, the mighty city! For in a single hour yoʋr judgment has come.”
11 “Onjoria a thĩ nĩmakamũrĩrĩra na mamũcakaĩre, tondũ gũtirĩ mũndũ ũgaacooka kũgũra indo ciao rĩngĩ:
The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo anymore,
12 indo cia thahabu, na betha, na mahiga ma goro, na ruru; ningĩ mataama ma gatani ĩrĩa njega, na marĩa ma rangi wa ndathi, na marĩa ma hariri, na mataama marĩa matune ta gakarakũ; ningĩ mĩthemba yothe ya mĩtĩ ĩrĩa mĩnungi wega, na indo cia mĩthemba yothe iria ithondeketwo na mĩguongo, na mbaũ cia goro, na gĩcango, na kĩgera, na mahiga mathaka ma nyaigĩ;
cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of citron wood, all kinds of articles made of ivory, all kinds of articles made of costly wood, bronze, iron, and marble;
cargo of cinnamon, incense, myrrh, frankincense, oil, fine flour, wheat, sheep, cattle, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.
14 “Nao nĩmakoiga atĩrĩ, ‘Itunda rĩrĩa weriragĩria nĩrĩkwehereire. Ũtonga waku wothe o na ũkengi waku nĩithirĩte, na gũtirĩ hĩndĩ igaacooka kuoneka o na rĩ.’
“The ripe fruit that was the desire of yoʋr soul has gone from yoʋ, and all yoʋr delicacies and splendors are lost to yoʋ; yoʋ will never find them again!”
15 Onjoria arĩa meendagia indo icio na magĩtonga kuuma kũrĩ we-rĩ, makaarũgama o haraaya nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtigĩra kĩnyariirĩko gĩake. Nĩmakarĩra, na macakae,
The merchants of these wares, who became rich from her, will stand at a distance in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud,
“Alas, alas, for the great city that was clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, with precious stone and pearls!
17 Ũtonga ũcio mũnene ũguo nĩwanangwo ithaa-inĩ o rĩmwe!’ “Anene othe a marikabu cia iria-inĩ, na arĩa othe mathiiaga na marikabu, atwarithia a marikabu, na arĩa othe marutaga wĩra kũu iria-inĩ rĩrĩa inene, makaarũgama o haraaya.
For in a single hour such great wealth has been laid waste!” And every shipmaster and seafaring man, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood at a distance
18 Rĩrĩa makoona ndogo ya itũũra rĩu rĩkĩhĩa-rĩ, nĩmakanĩrĩra moige atĩrĩ, ‘Kũrĩ kwagĩa itũũra rĩngĩ inene ta itũũra rĩĩrĩ?’
and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, “What city is like the great city?”
19 Nao nĩmakehurĩria rũkũngũ mĩtwe o makĩrĩraga na magĩcakayaga, na makae, makiugaga atĩrĩ: “‘Ĩiya-ĩ! Ĩiya-ĩ, Wee itũũra inene, kũrĩa arĩa othe ene marikabu cia iria-inĩ inene maatongeire nĩ ũndũ wa ũtonga warĩo! Nĩrĩanangwo ithaa-inĩ o rĩmwe!
They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and mourning aloud, “Alas, alas, for the great city, where all who had ships at sea grew rich from her valuable merchandise! For in a single hour she has been laid waste.
20 Rĩkenerere, wee igũrũ! Kenai inyuĩ andũ arĩa aamũre, na inyuĩ atũmwo, o na inyuĩ anabii! Ngai nĩarĩtuĩrĩire ciira nĩ ũndũ wa ũrĩa rĩamwĩkire.’”
Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints, apostles, and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her.”
21 Ningĩ mũraika ũrĩ hinya akĩoya ihiga rĩaiganaga ta ihiga inene rĩa gĩthĩi, akĩrĩikia thĩinĩ wa iria rĩrĩa inene, akiuga atĩrĩ: “Ũguo nĩguo itũũra rĩu inene rĩa Babuloni rĩgaatengemanio thĩ na hinya, narĩo rĩage gũcooka kuoneka o na rĩ.
Then a mighty angel picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, and said, “With such violence Babylon the great city will be thrown down, never to be found again.
22 Nacio nyĩmbo cia ahũũri inanda cia mũgeeto na aini, na ahuhi a mĩtũrirũ, na ahuhi a coro, matigacooka kũiguuo thĩinĩ waku o na rĩ. Gũtirĩ mũruti wa wĩra wa mũthemba o wothe ũgacooka kuoneka thĩinĩ waku o rĩ. Mũgambo wa ihiga rĩa gĩthĩi ndũrĩ hĩndĩ ũgaacooka kũiguuo thĩinĩ waku.
The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters will never be heard in yoʋ again. No craftsman of any trade will ever be found in yoʋ again. The sound of a mill will never be heard in yoʋ again.
The light of a lamp will never shine in yoʋ again. The voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in yoʋ again. For yoʋr merchants were the magnates of the earth, and all the nations were deceived by yoʋr sorcery.”
And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth.
