1 Mũndũ ũrĩa ũikaraga agitĩirwo nĩ Ũrĩa-ũrĩ-Igũrũ-Mũno arĩhurũkaga kĩĩruru-inĩ kĩa Mwene-Hinya-Wothe.
He who is dwelling In the secret place of the Most High, Habitually lodges in the shade of the Mighty,
2 Ngũkiuga ũhoro wa Jehova atĩrĩ, “Wee nĩwe rĩũrĩro rĩakwa na kĩirigo gĩakwa kĩrĩ hinya, nĩwe Ngai wakwa, ũrĩa ndĩĩhokete.”
He is saying of YHWH, “My refuge, and my bulwark, my God, I trust in Him,”
3 Ti-itherũ nĩegũgũteithũra gĩkerenge-inĩ kĩa mũtegi, o na kuuma mũrimũ-inĩ ũrĩa mũũru wa kũũraga.
For He delivers you from the snare of a fowler, From a calamitous pestilence.
4 Arĩkũhumbagĩra na njoya ciake, na rungu rwa mathagu make nĩho ũrĩĩgitagia; wĩhokeku wake nĩũgatuĩka ngo yaku na kĩĩhitho gĩaku.
He covers you over with His pinion, And under His wings you trust, His truth [is] a shield and buckler.
5 Ndũrĩĩtigagĩra imakania cia ũtukũ, kana mũguĩ ũrĩa ũthĩrĩrĩkaga mũthenya,
You are not afraid of fear by night, Of arrow that flies by day,
6 o na kana mũrimũ ũrĩa ũceemaga nduma-inĩ, kana mũthiro ũrĩa ũniinanaga mũthenya gatagatĩ.
Of pestilence that walks in thick darkness, Of destruction that destroys at noon,
7 Andũ ngiri no magũe mwena waku, nao ngiri ikũmi magũe guoko-inĩ gwaku kwa ũrĩo, no ndũngĩkuhĩrĩrio nĩguo.
One thousand fall at your side, And a myriad at your right hand, [But] it does not come near to you.
8 Wee no kwĩrorera ũkerorera na maitho maku wĩonere iherithia rĩa andũ arĩa aaganu.
But with your eyes you look, And you see the reward of the wicked,
9 Ũngĩtua Ũrĩa-ũrĩ-Igũrũ-Mũno gĩikaro gĩaku, o we Jehova, ũrĩa arĩ we rĩũrĩro rĩakwa,
(For You, O YHWH, [are] my refuge), You made the Most High your habitation.
10 hĩndĩ ĩyo gũtirĩ ũũru ũgaagũkorerera, gũtirĩ mwanangĩko ũgaakuhĩrĩria hema yaku.
Evil does not happen to you, And a plague does not come near your tent,
11 Nĩgũkorwo nĩagaatha araika ake nĩ ũndũ waku, makũgitagĩre mĩthiĩre-inĩ yaku yothe;
For He charges His messengers for you, To keep you in all your ways,
12 nĩmagakuoya na igũrũ na moko mao nĩgeetha ndũkaringwo kũgũrũ nĩ ihiga.
On the hands they bear you up, Lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 Nĩũgakinyĩrĩria mũrũũthi, o na nduĩra; ũkarangĩrĩria mũrũũthi ũrĩa mũnene, o na nyoka.
You tread on lion and cobra, You trample young lion and dragon.
14 Jehova ekuuga atĩrĩ, “Kuona atĩ nĩanyendete, nĩngamũhatũra hatĩka-inĩ; nĩndĩrĩmũgitagĩra, nĩgũkorwo nĩamenyete rĩĩtwa rĩakwa.
Because he has delighted in Me, I also deliver him—I set him on high, Because he has known My Name.
15 Arĩngayagĩra, na niĩ ngamwĩtĩka; ndĩrĩkoragwo hamwe nake hĩndĩ ya thĩĩna, ndĩrĩmũteithũraga na ngamũtĩĩithia.
He calls Me, and I answer him, I [am] with him in distress, I deliver him, and honor him.
16 Ngũmũtũũria muoyo matukũ maingĩ nginya aiganie, na ndĩmuonagie ũhonokio wakwa.”
I satisfy him with [the] length of [his] days, And I cause him to look on My salvation!
