1 Ihooya rĩa Daudi Wee Jehova, njigua na ũnjĩtĩke, nĩgũkorwo ndĩ mũthĩĩni na mũbatari.
A Prayer of David. O Lord, incline your ear, and listen to me; for I am poor and needy.
2 Gitĩra muoyo wakwa, nĩgũkorwo nĩndĩheanĩte harĩwe. Wee nĩwe Ngai wakwa; honokia ndungata yaku ĩno ĩkwĩhokete.
Preserve my soul, for I am holy; save your servant, O God, who hopes in you.
3 Njiguĩra tha, Wee Mwathani, nĩgũkorwo ngũkayagĩra mũthenya wothe.
Pity me, O Lord: for to you will I cry all the day.
4 He ndungata yaku gĩkeno, nĩgũkorwo nĩ kũrĩ we, Wee Mwathani, ndorereirie ngoro yakwa.
Rejoice the sold of your servant: for to you, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul.
5 Nĩgũkorwo Wee Mwathani ũrĩ mwega na nĩũrekanagĩra, ũkaingĩhia wendo kũrĩ arĩa othe magũkayagĩra.
For you, O Lord, are kind, and gentle; and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon you.
6 Igua ihooya rĩakwa, Wee Jehova; thikĩrĩria ikaya rĩakwa ũnjiguĩre tha.
Give ear to my prayer, o Lord; and attend to the voice of my supplication.
7 Mũthenya ũrĩa ngaakorwo na thĩĩna nĩngagũkaĩra, nĩgũkorwo nĩũkanjĩtĩka.
In the day of my trouble I cried to you: for you did hear me.
8 Wee Mwathani, thĩinĩ wa ngai ciothe gũtirĩ ĩngĩ tawe; gũtirĩ ciĩko ingĩhaananio na ciaku.
There is none like to you, O Lord, among the god; and there are no [works] like to your works.
9 Ndũrĩrĩ ciothe iria ũmbĩte nĩigooka igũthathaiye irĩ mbere yaku, Wee Mwathani; nĩikarehera rĩĩtwa rĩaku riiri.
All nations whom you have made shall come, and shall worship before you, O Lord; and shall glorify your name.
10 Nĩgũkorwo Wee ũrĩ mũnene, na nĩwĩkaga ciĩko cia kũgegania; Wee wiki nowe Ngai.
For you are great, and do wonders: you are the only [and] the great God.
11 Wee Jehova, nyonagĩrĩria njĩra ciaku, nĩgeetha thiiage na mĩthiĩre ya ma; he ngoro ĩĩrutĩire kũna, nĩguo ndĩĩtigagĩre rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
Guide me, O Lord, in your way, and I will walk in your truth: let my heart rejoice, that I may fear your name.
12 Nĩndĩrĩkũgoocaga na ngoro yakwa yothe, Wee Mwathani Ngai wakwa; ngũtũũra ngumagia rĩĩtwa rĩaku nginya tene.
I will give you thanks, O Lord my God, with all my heart; and I will glorify your name for ever.
13 Nĩgũkorwo wendo waku nĩ mũnene harĩ niĩ; nĩũndeithũrĩte kuuma mbĩrĩra-inĩ o kũrĩa kũriku mũno. (Sheol )
For your mercy is great toward me; and you have delivered my soul from the lowest hell. (Sheol )
14 Wee Ngai, andũ arĩa etĩĩi nĩmaraatharĩkĩra; gĩkundi kĩa andũ matarĩ tha nĩmaracaria muoyo wakwa, o andũ acio matakũrũmbũyagia.
O God, transgressors have risen up against me, and an assembly of violent [men] have sought my life; and have not set you before them.
15 No Wee, Wee Mwathani, ũrĩ Mũrungu mũigua tha na ũrĩ mũtugi, ndũhiũhaga kũrakara, na ũiyũrĩtwo nĩ wendo na wĩhokeku.
But you, O Lord God, are compassionate and merciful, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and true.
16 Wĩhũgũre ũndore na ũnjiguĩre tha; he ndungata ĩno yaku hinya waku, na ũhonokie mũriũ wa ndungata yaku ya mũndũ-wa-nja.
Look you upon me, and have mercy upon me: give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your handmaid.
17 Nyonia kĩmenyithia kĩa wega waku, nĩguo thũ ciakwa ikĩone iconorithio, nĩgũkorwo Wee, Wee Jehova, nĩũndeithĩtie na ũkaahooreria.
Establish with me a token for good; and let them that hate me see [it] and be ashamed; because you, O Lord, have helped me, and comforted me.
