< Thaburi 84 >

1 Thaburi ya Ariũ a Kora Wee Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe-rĩ, kaĩ gĩikaro gĩaku nĩ gĩthaka-ĩ!
“To the chief musician upon Gittith, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” How lovely are thy dwelling-places, O Lord of hosts!
2 Muoyo wakwa wĩriragĩria mũno, ĩĩ o na ũkoorwo nĩ hinya, nĩ ũndũ wa kwĩrirĩria nja cia Jehova; ngoro yakwa na mwĩrĩ wakwa irakaĩra Mũrungu ũrĩa ũtũũraga muoyo.
My soul desired, yea, it also longed for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh shout with joy unto the living God.
3 O na kanyoni-ka-nja nĩkoonete mũciĩ, nayo thũngũrũrũ ĩkeyonera gĩtara, harĩa ĩngĩikaria tũcui twayo, o hau hakuhĩ na kĩgongona gĩaku, Wee Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, o Wee Mũthamaki wakwa na Ngai wakwa.
Even as the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young: —[have I found] thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
4 Kũrathimwo-rĩ, nĩ andũ arĩa matũũraga nyũmba yaku; matũũraga makũgoocaga.
Happy are they who dwell in thy house: they will be continually praising thee. (Selah)
5 Kũrathimwo-rĩ, nĩ andũ arĩa maheagwo hinya nĩwe, o arĩa matuĩte na ngoro ciao gũthiĩ Zayuni.
Happy is the man whose strong confidence is in thee, [all] whose heart reflecteth on the paths [of righteousness].
6 Rĩrĩa megũtuĩkanĩria Gĩtuamba kĩa Baka, matũmaga kũgĩe na ithima; mbura ya maguna-ngʼombe o nayo ĩkũhumbĩraga na tũria twa maaĩ.
Passing through the valley of weeping, they will change it into a spring: also the early rain covereth it with blessings.
7 Mathiiaga magĩkĩragĩrĩria kũgĩa na hinya, nginya o mũndũ o mũndũ agakinya mbere ya Ngai kũu Zayuni.
They go from strength to strength, each of them appeareth before God in Zion.
8 Igua ihooya rĩakwa, Wee Jehova Ngai-Mwene-Hinya-Wothe; thikĩrĩria, Wee Ngai wa Jakubu.
O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
9 Wee Ngai, ta rora ngo iitũ; tiirĩra ũrĩa waku ũitĩrĩirie maguta gĩthiithi.
[Thou, ] our shield, behold, O God, and look upon the face of thy anointed.
10 Kaba mũthenya ũmwe nja-inĩ ciaku, gũkĩra gũikara mĩthenya ngiri handũ hangĩ o hothe; kaba ngorwo ndĩ mũrangĩri wa kĩhingo kĩa nyũmba ya Ngai wakwa, gũkĩra ndũũre thĩinĩ wa hema cia andũ arĩa aaganu.
For better is a day in thy courts than a thousand [elsewhere]: I would rather choose to wait at the threshold of the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 Nĩgũkorwo Jehova Ngai nĩ riũa na ngo; Jehova nĩarĩtũtugaga na agatwĩka maũndũ mega; arĩa mĩthiĩre yao ĩtarĩ ũcuuke ndarĩ ũndũ mwega angĩmaima.
For a sun and shield is the Lord God; grace and glory will the Lord give; he will not withhold any good from those that walk with integrity.
12 Wee Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, kũrathimwo nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa ũkwĩhokaga.
O Lord of hosts, happy is the man that trusteth in thee.
