< Thaburi 82 >

1 Thaburi ya Asafu Ngai arũgamĩte kĩũngano-inĩ kĩrĩa kĩnene; aratuĩra “ngai” ciira arĩ gatagatĩ ga cio.
God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the deities.
2 “Nĩ nginya rĩ mũgũtũũra mũciiragĩrĩra andũ arĩa matarũgamagĩrĩra kĩhooto, na mũgatĩĩra arĩa aaganu maũthĩ?
“How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked?” (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
3 “Ciiragĩrĩrai kĩhooto kĩa arĩa matarĩ hinya na arĩa matarĩ maithe; tũũriai ihooto cia andũ arĩa athĩĩni o na arĩa ahinyĩrĩrie.
“Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.
4 Hatũragai arĩa matarĩ hinya na arĩa abatari; mateithũrei kuuma moko-inĩ ma arĩa aaganu.
Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.”
5 “Andũ acio matirĩ ũndũ mooĩ, na matirĩ ũndũ makũũranaga. Macangacangaga nduma-inĩ; mĩthingi yothe ya thĩ nĩyenyenyete.
They don’t know, neither do they understand. They walk back and forth in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6 “Ndoigire atĩrĩ, ‘Inyuĩ mũrĩ “ngai”; inyuothe mũrĩ ariũ a Ũrĩa-ũrĩ-Igũrũ-Mũno.’
I said, “You are elohim ·judges, gods·, all of you are sons of haElyon [the Most High].
7 No mũgaakua o ta ũrĩa andũ makuuaga; mũkaagũa o ta aathani arĩa angĩ.”
Nevertheless you shall die like men, and fall like one of the rulers.”
8 Arahũka, Wee Ngai, ũtuĩre thĩ ciira, nĩgũkorwo ndũrĩrĩ ciothe nĩ igai rĩaku.
Arise, God, judge the earth, for you inherit all of the nations.
