< Thaburi 79 >
1 Thaburi ya Asafu Wee Ngai, ndũrĩrĩ nĩitharĩkĩire igai rĩaku; nĩithaahĩtie hekarũ yaku theru, imomorete itũũra rĩa Jerusalemu rĩgatuĩka irũndo cia mahiga.
A Psalm by Asaph. God, the nations have come into your inheritance. They have defiled your holy temple. They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.
2 Ciimba cia ndungata ciaku macineanĩte ituĩke irio cia nyoni cia rĩera-inĩ, na mĩĩrĩ ya andũ aku aamũre makamĩheana kũrĩ nyamũ cia gĩthaka.
They have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your saints to the animals of the earth.
3 Maitĩte thakame ya andũ aku ta maaĩ Jerusalemu guothe, na gũtirĩ mũndũ wa gũthika arĩa makuĩte.
They have shed their blood like water around Jerusalem. There was no one to bury them.
4 Tũtuĩkĩte andũ a kũmenwo nĩ arĩa tũriganĩtie nao, tũgatuĩka andũ a kũnyararwo na gũthekererwo nĩ arĩa matũthiũrũrũkĩirie.
We have become a reproach to our neighbours, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.
5 Wee Jehova-rĩ, nĩ nginya rĩ? Ũgũtũũra ũrĩ mũrakaru nginya tene? Nĩ nginya rĩ ũiru waku ũgũtũũra wakanĩte ta mwaki?
How long, LORD? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire?
6 Itĩrĩria ndũrĩrĩ iria itakũũĩ mangʼũrĩ maku, ũmaitĩrĩrie mothamaki marĩa matakayagĩra rĩĩtwa rĩaku;
Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name,
7 nĩgũkorwo nĩmatambuurĩte Jakubu na makaananga bũrũri wake.
for they have devoured Jacob, and destroyed his homeland.
8 Ndũgatũherithie nĩ ũndũ wa mehia ma maithe maitũ; tha ciaku irohiũha itũkinyĩrĩre, nĩgũkorwo tũrĩ ahinyĩrĩrĩku mũno.
Don’t hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us. Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, for we are in desperate need.
Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake.
10 Nĩ kĩĩ gĩgũtũma ndũrĩrĩ ciũrie atĩrĩ, “Ngai wao akĩrĩ ha?” Menyithania kũrĩ ndũrĩrĩ tũkĩĩonagĩra na maitho maitũ atĩ nĩũrĩhanagĩria thakame ya ndungata ciaku ĩrĩa ĩitĩtwo.
Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let it be known amongst the nations, before our eyes, that vengeance for your servants’ blood is being poured out.
11 Mũcaayo wa arĩa moohetwo njeera ũrogũkinyĩra; nĩ ũndũ wa hinya wa guoko gwaku gitĩra arĩa matuĩrĩirwo gũkua.
Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you. According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death.
12 Wĩrĩhĩrie maita mũgwanja harĩ ndũrĩrĩ iria tũriganĩtie nacio, nĩ ũndũ wa rũmena rũrĩa makũmenete naruo, Wee Mwathani.
Pay back to our neighbours seven times into their bosom their reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord.
13 Na ithuĩ andũ aku, o ithuĩ ngʼondu cia rũũru rwaku, tũkũgoocage nginya tene na tene; nĩtũrahage ũgooci waku, kuuma njiarwa na njiarwa.
So we, your people and sheep of your pasture, will give you thanks forever. We will praise you forever, to all generations.
