AN INSTRUCTION OF ASAPH. Why, O God, have You cast off forever? Your anger smokes against the flock of Your pasture.
2 Ririkana andũ arĩa wegũrĩire o tene, arĩa wakũũrire magĩtuĩka mũhĩrĩga ũrĩa wegaĩire, na ũririkane Kĩrĩma gĩa Zayuni, o kũrĩa watũũrĩte.
Remember Your congregation [That] You purchased of old, You redeemed the rod of Your inheritance, This Mount Zion—You dwelt in it.
3 Erekeria makinya maku kũrĩ mwanangĩko ũyũ ũtũũrĩte kuo, wone ũrĩa handũ harĩa haku haamũre hathũkangĩtio nĩ thũ.
Lift up Your steps to the continuous desolations, Everything the enemy did wickedly in the sanctuary.
4 Amuku aku mararamĩire harĩa wacemanĩirie na ithuĩ; maahaandire bendera ciao irĩ imenyithia.
Your adversaries have roared, In the midst of Your meeting-places, They have set their ensigns as ensigns.
5 Metuĩte ta andũ mekũhiũria mathanwa mateme mĩtĩ ya mũtitũ.
He is known as one bringing in on high Against a thicket of wood—axes.
6 Mbaũ iria ciothe ciagemetio magĩciunanga na mathanwa na ibũi ciao.
And now they break down its engravings, Together, with axe and hatchet,
7 Nĩmacinire handũ-haku-harĩa-haamũre hakĩmomoka, magĩthaahia gĩikaro kĩa Rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
They have sent Your sanctuary into fire, They defiled the Dwelling Place of Your Name to the earth,
8 Moigire atĩrĩ na ngoro ciao, “Tũkũmahehenja mathire!” Maacinire handũ harĩa hothe Mũrungu aahooyagĩrwo kũu bũrũri-inĩ.
They said in their hearts, “Let us oppress them together,” They burned all the meeting-places of God in the land.
9 Gũtirĩ ciama tũringagĩrwo mahinda maya; anabii nĩmathirĩte, na gũtirĩ witũ ũũĩ nĩ nginya rĩ gũgũikara ũguo.
We have not seen our ensigns, There is no longer a prophet, Nor with us is one knowing how long.
10 Wee Ngai, thũ ĩgũtũũra ĩgũthirĩkagia nginya rĩ? Mũmuku no atũũre acambagia rĩĩtwa rĩaku nginya tene?
Until when, O God, does an adversary reproach? Does an enemy despise Your Name forever?
11 Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmĩte ũthune guoko gwaku, o guoko kũu gwaku kwa ũrĩo? Kũrute mĩkũnjo-inĩ ya nguo ciaku ũmaniine!
Why do You turn back Your hand, Even Your right hand? Remove [it] from the midst of Your bosom.
12 No rĩrĩ, Wee Ngai, nĩwe mũthamaki wakwa kuuma tene; nĩwĩkaga maũndũ ma kũhonokania gũkũ thĩ.
And God [is] my king of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13 Wee-rĩ, nĩwe wagayanirie iria na ũhoti waku, ũkĩhehenja mĩtwe ya nyamũ iria nene kũu maaĩ-inĩ.

You have broken the heads of leviathan, You make him food for the people of desert-dwellers.
15 Wee-rĩ, nĩwe watũmire ithima itherũke na tũrũũĩ tũtherere, ũkĩhũithia njũũĩ iria itahũaga.
You have cleaved a fountain and a stream, You have dried up perennial flowings.
16 Mũthenya nĩ waku o na ũtukũ no waku; Wee nĩwe wahaandire riũa na mweri.
The day [is] Yours, The night [is] also Yours, You have prepared a light-giver—the sun.
17 Wee-rĩ, nĩwe wekĩrire mĩhaka yothe ya thĩ; nĩwe watũmire kũgĩe hĩndĩ ya riũa na hĩndĩ ya heho.
You have set up all the borders of earth, Summer and winter—You have formed them.
18 Ririkana ũrĩa thũ ĩkũnyũrũrĩtie, Wee Jehova, na ũrĩa andũ arĩa akĩĩgu macambĩtie rĩĩtwa rĩaku.

19 Ndũkaneane muoyo wa ndirahũgĩ yaku kũrĩ nyamũ cia gĩthaka; ndũkariganĩrwo nĩ mĩoyo ya andũ aku arĩa manyariirĩtwo nginya tene.
Do not give up to a [wild] creature, The soul of Your turtle-dove, Do not forget the life of Your poor ones forever.
20 Ririkana kĩrĩkanĩro gĩaku, tondũ kũndũ guothe kũrĩa kũrĩ nduma bũrũri-inĩ kũiyũrĩte haaro.
Look attentively to the covenant, For the dark places of earth, Have been full of habitations of violence.
21 Ndũkareke mũndũ ũrĩa mũhinyĩrĩrie acooke na thuutha aconokete; andũ arĩa athĩĩni na arĩa abatari nĩmagooce rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
Do not let the oppressed turn back ashamed, Let the poor and needy praise Your Name,
22 Arahũka, Wee Ngai, ũrũgamĩrĩre kĩhooto gĩaku; ririkana ũrĩa andũ arĩa akĩĩgu magũthirĩkagia mũthenya wothe.
Arise, O God, plead Your plea, Remember Your reproach from a fool all the day.

Do not forget the voice of Your adversaries, The noise of Your withstanders is going up continually!
