< Thaburi 64 >

1 Thaburi ya Daudi Wee Ngai, igua mũgambo wakwa ngĩkwĩra mateta makwa; gitĩra muoyo wakwa harĩ kwĩhĩtĩrwo nĩ thũ.
“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint: preserve my life from the dread of the enemy.
2 Kĩĩhithe kuuma kũrĩ ndundu ya andũ arĩa aaganu, ũũhithe kuuma kũrĩ inegene rĩa mũingĩ ũrĩa wĩkaga ũũru.
Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumultuous assault of the workers of wickedness;
3 Manooraga nĩmĩ ciao ta hiũ cia njora, na makaaria ciugo njũru itariĩ ta mĩguĩ ĩrĩ ũrũrũ.
Who whet their tongue like a sword, who aim with their arrow, the bitter word:
4 Mehithagĩra mũndũ ũtehĩtie makamũratha na mĩguĩ; mamũrathaga o rĩmwe mategwĩtigĩra.
To shoot in secret at the innocent; suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
5 Momanagĩrĩria magĩthugunda mĩbango mĩũru, meranaga ũrĩa mekũhitha mĩtego yao; mooragia atĩrĩ, “Nũũ ũngĩmĩona?”
They encourage themselves in an evil plan; they tell secretly of laying snares: they say, Who will see them?
They search out iniquities; “We are ready with the carefully searched out device:” and the inward thought and heart of each is deeply [hidden].
7 No rĩrĩ, Ngai nĩekũmaratha na mĩguĩ yake, amathece o rĩmwe.
But God shooteth at them suddenly [his] arrow; —[thence] are come their wounds.
8 Akaamarehithĩria mwanangĩko nĩ ũndũ wa ciugo njũru iria maaragia na tũnua twao; andũ arĩa othe makamoona makaamanyũrũria, mamainainĩrie mĩtwe.
And their own tongues will stumble over themselves: all that look on them will shake their head.
9 Andũ othe nĩmagetigĩra; nĩmakaheana ũhoro wa wĩra wa Ngai, na meciirie ũhoro wa maũndũ marĩa ekĩte.
All men shall fear, and shall declare the deeds of God, and understand his works.
10 Andũ arĩa athingu nĩmagĩkenere Jehova na moragĩre harĩ we; andũ arĩa othe arũngĩrĩru ngoro nĩmamũgooce!
The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glorify themselves.
