< Thaburi 52 >
1 Thaburi ya Daudi Wee njamba ĩno ĩrĩ hinya, ũreegana nĩ ũndũ wa maũndũ mooru nĩkĩ? Ũtindaga wĩrahĩte mũthenya wothe nĩkĩ, o wee ũtuĩkĩte gĩconoko maitho-nĩ ma Ngai?
“To the chief musician, a Maskil of David, When Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Achimelech.” What vauntest thou thyself of wickedness, O mighty man? the kindness of God endureth all the time.
2 Rũrĩmĩ rwaku rũthugundaga mwanangĩko; rũhaana ta rwenji rũnoore, o wee wĩkaga maũndũ ma maheeni.
Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs, like a sharpened razor, thou worker of deceit.
3 Wendete maũndũ mooru gũkĩra marĩa mega, ũkenda maheeni gũkĩra kwaria ma.
Thou lovest evil more than good; falsehood more than speaking righteousness. (Selah)
4 Wendete ciugo o ciothe ithũkagia andũ, wee rũrĩmĩ rũrũ rwa maheeni!
Thou lovest all words of destruction, the tongue of deceit.
5 Ti-itherũ Mũrungu nĩagakwananga nginya tene na tene: Agakũnyiita, akũhurie na akũrute hema-inĩ yaku; agakũmunya akweherie bũrũri wa arĩa marĩ muoyo.
[Therefore] God will also destroy thee for ever: he will take thee away, and pluck thee out of his tent, and root thee out of the land of life. (Selah)
6 Andũ arĩa athingu nĩmakona ũguo metigĩre; nao magathekerera mũndũ ũcio, moige atĩrĩ,
And the righteous shall see it, and they will be afraid, and laugh concerning him:
7 “Ũyũ nĩwe mũndũ ũrĩa wagire gũtua Ngai kĩĩhitho gĩake kĩa hinya, no eehokire ũtonga wake mũingĩ, na akĩgĩa hinya nĩ ũndũ wa kũniina andũ arĩa angĩ!”
“Lo, this is the man that made not God his fortress; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, relied proudly on his mischievous wickedness.”
But I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the kindness of God for ever and ever.
9 Ngũtũũra ngũgoocaga nginya tene nĩ ũndũ wa ũrĩa wĩkĩte; ndĩrĩĩhokaga rĩĩtwa rĩaku, nĩgũkorwo rĩĩtwa rĩaku nĩ rĩega. Ndĩrĩkũgoocaga ndĩ mbere ya andũ aku arĩa aamũre.
I will thank thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for [it is] good, before thy pious ones.
