1 Thaburi ya Ariũ a Kora Jehova nĩ mũnene, na nĩ wa kũgoocwo mũno, arĩ kũu thĩinĩ wa itũũra inene rĩa Ngai witũ, o kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩake kĩrĩa kĩamũre.
Yahweh is great, and he deserves to be greatly praised in the city where he [lives], [which is built on Zion], his sacred hill.
2 Kĩrĩma kĩu kĩa Ngai nĩ gĩthaka na gĩkaraiha na igũrũ, na nĩkĩo gĩkeno gĩa thĩ yothe. O ta ũrĩa Zafoni gũtũgĩrĩte na igũrũ mũno, no taguo Kĩrĩma gĩa Zayuni kĩhaana, itũũra rĩu inene rĩa Mũthamaki ũrĩa Mũnene.
That city, on a high [hill], is beautiful; it is the city where the true [God], the great king, [lives], and it causes people all over the world to rejoice [when they see it].
3 Ngai arĩ thĩinĩ wa ciikaro iria ngitĩre cia mũthamaki; nake nĩeyonanĩtie atĩ nĩwe kĩirigo gĩacio kĩa hinya.
God is in the strong towers there, and he shows that he protects the people in that city.
4 Rĩrĩa athamaki maanyiitanire hamwe na magĩthiĩ magatharĩkĩre itũũra rĩu,
Many kings gathered [with their armies] to attack [that city],
5 maarĩonire, magĩtuĩka nda; makĩũra nĩ kĩmako kĩnene.
but when they saw it, they were amazed; they became terrified, and ran away.
6 O hau-hau makĩnyiitwo nĩ kũinaina, makĩgĩa na ruo ta rwa mũndũ-wa-nja akĩrũmwo.
Because they were very afraid, they trembled like a woman who is about to give birth to a child;
7 Wamanangire o ta ũrĩa marikabu cia Tarishishi cianangagwo nĩ rũhuho ruumĩte mwena wa irathĩro.
they shook [like] ships sailing from Tarshish are shaken by a strong wind.
8 O ta ũrĩa tũiguĩte, ũguo noguo tuonete thĩinĩ wa itũũra inene rĩa Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, itũũra rĩu inene rĩa Ngai witũ: Ngai egũtũũra arĩgitagĩra nginya tene.
We had heard [that this city is glorious], and now we have seen that it is. It is the city in which Yahweh, the almighty one, [lives]. It is the city which God will preserve/protect forever.
9 Tũrĩ thĩinĩ wa hekarũ yaku, Wee Ngai, twĩcũũranagia ũhoro wa wendo waku ũrĩa ũtathiraga.
God, [here] in your temple we think about how you faithfully love us.
10 O ta ũrĩa rĩĩtwa rĩaku rĩtariĩ, Wee Ngai, ũguo noguo ngumo yaku ĩigana o nginya ituri-inĩ cia thĩ; guoko gwaku kwa ũrĩo kũiyũrĩtwo nĩ ũthingu.
You [MTY] are famous and (are praised/people praise you) all over the earth, because you rule powerfully [MTY] and justly.
11 Kĩrĩma gĩa Zayuni nĩgĩkenaga, namo matũũra ma Juda magacanjamũka nĩ ũndũ wa matuĩro maku ma ciira.
The people who live near Zion Hill should be happy! The people in [all] the cities [MTY] in Judah should rejoice because you judge people fairly.
12 Ceeraceerai Zayuni, mũrĩthiũrũrũke, mũtare mĩthiringo yarĩo ĩrĩa mĩraihu na igũrũ,
[You Israeli people should] walk around Zion [Hill] and count the towers there;
13 mũrore ũrĩa kũirigĩtwo na hinya, na mũrore ciikaro iria ngitĩre cia mũthamaki, nĩgeetha mũkeeraga rũciaro rũrĩa rũgooka ũhoro wacio.
notice the walls there and examine the forts in order that you can tell about them to your children.
14 Nĩgũkorwo Ngai ũyũ nĩwe Ngai witũ nginya tene na tene; egũtũũra atũtongoragia nginya hĩndĩ ĩtagathira.
[Say to them], “This is [the city that belongs to] our God, [the one who lives] forever; he will guide us all of our lives.”
