< Thaburi 36 >

1 Thaburi ya Daudi Ndĩ na ndũmĩrĩri nditũ ngoro-inĩ yakwa, ĩkoniĩ wĩhia wa mũndũ ũrĩa mwaganu: Nĩ atĩrĩ, hatirĩ wĩtigĩri Ngai maitho-inĩ make.
“To the chief musician, by the servant of the Lord, by David.” Saith vice itself to the wicked—so I feel it within my heart— that he should have no dread of God before his eyes.
2 Nĩ gũkorwo maitho-inĩ make mwene erahaga mũno, ũũ atĩ ndangĩhota gũkũũrana o na kana athũũre mehia make.
For he flattereth himself in his own eyes [too much] to find out his iniquity to hate it.
3 Ciugo cia kanua gake nĩ cia waganu na nĩ cia maheeni; nĩatigĩte gũtuĩka mũndũ mũũgĩ na wa gwĩkaga wega.
The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, to do good.
4 O na arĩ ũrĩrĩ-inĩ wake athugundaga o maũndũ mooru; eheanaga njĩra-inĩ ya kũmwerekeria gwĩka ũũru, na ndathũũraga ũndũ mũũru.
He deviseth wickedness upon his couch; he placeth himself on a way that is not good; evil he despiseth not.
5 Wee Jehova-rĩ, wendani waku ũkinyĩte o igũrũ, naguo wĩhokeku waku ũgakinya o matu-inĩ.
O Lord, into the heavens reacheth thy kindness, thy faithfulness even into the skies.
6 Ũthingu waku ũhaana ta irĩma iria nene, kĩhooto gĩaku gĩkarikĩra ta kũrĩa kũriku. Wee Jehova-rĩ, ũmenyagĩrĩra mũndũ o na nyamũ.
Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God; thy acts of justice like the great deep: man and beast dost thou ever help, O Lord.
7 Hĩ! Kaĩ wendo waku ũrĩa ũtathiraga nĩ wa goro mũno-ĩ! Andũ othe anene na anini moragĩra kĩĩgunyĩ-inĩ kĩa mathagu maku.
How precious is thy kindness, O God! And the children of men that seek shelter under the shadow of thy wings, —
8 Marĩĩaga makaigania kuumana na ũingĩ wa nyũmba yaku; ũmaheaga gĩa kũnyua kuuma rũũĩ-inĩ rwaku rwa gĩkeno.
These will be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and of the stream of thy delights wilt thou give them to drink.
9 Nĩgũkorwo gĩthima kĩa muoyo kĩrĩ kũrĩ we; ũtheri-inĩ waku nĩho tuonaga ũtheri.
For with thee is the source of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10 Kĩrĩrĩria kwenda arĩa makũũĩ, naguo ũthingu waku ũtũũre na arĩa arũngĩrĩru ngoro.
Draw down continuously thy kindness unto those that acknowledge thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Ikinya rĩa ũrĩa mwĩtĩĩi rĩroaga kũnjũkĩrĩra, o na kana guoko kwa ũrĩa mwaganu kũnyingate.
Let not come against me the foot of pride, and let not the hand of the wicked chase me off.
12 Ta rora wone ũrĩa andũ arĩa mekaga ũũru magwĩte thĩ; maikanĩtio thĩ, na matingĩhota gũũkĩra!
There are fallen the workers of wickedness: they are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
