1 Thaburi ya Daudi Rahai Jehova, inyuĩ ciũmbe cia igũrũ, rahai Jehova tondũ nĩwe ũrĩ riiri na hinya.
You angels in heaven, praise Yahweh! Praise him because he is very glorious and powerful.
2 Rahai Jehova, mũheane ũhoro wa riiri wa rĩĩtwa rĩake; thathaiyai Jehova thĩinĩ wa ũkengi wa ũthingu wake.
Proclaim that (he/his name) is glorious; bow down before Yahweh in his holy [temple].
3 Mũgambo wa Jehova ũragamba na kũu iria-inĩ; Mũrungu ũcio wa riiri nĩararuruma, Jehova araruruma igũrũ rĩa maaĩ maingĩ.
Yahweh’s voice is heard above the oceans; Yahweh, the glorious God, thunders. His voice thunders over the huge oceans [DOU].
4 Mũgambo wa Jehova nĩ ũrĩ ũhoti; mũgambo wa Jehova ũiyũrĩte riiri.
His voice is powerful and majestic.
5 Mũgambo wa Jehova unangaga mĩtarakwa; Jehova oinangaga mĩtarakwa ya Lebanoni ĩgatuĩka tũcunjĩ.
The sound of Yahweh’s voice breaks great cedar trees, the cedars that grow in Lebanon.
6 Atũmaga bũrũri wa Lebanoni ũtũũhe ta njaũ, nakĩo Kĩrĩma gĩa Sirioni gĩgatũũha ta njaũ ya mbogo.
He causes [the mountains in] Lebanon to jump like calves jump, and causes Hermon [Mountain] to jump like a young bull jumps.
7 Mũgambo wa Jehova ũhenũkaga nĩnĩmbĩ cia mwaki.
Yahweh’s voice causes lightning to flash.
8 Mũgambo wa Jehova ũinainagia werũ; Jehova ainainagia Werũ wa Kadeshi.
His voice causes the desert to shake; he shakes Kadesh Desert [in the southern part of Judah].
9 Mũgambo wa Jehova ũthioraga mĩtĩ ya mĩgandi, na ũgatũma mĩtitũ ĩhũrũrũke ĩgatigwo ũtheri. Nakuo hekarũ-inĩ yake arĩa othe marĩ kuo makaanĩrĩra makoiga, “Kaĩ arĩ riiri-ĩ!”
Yahweh’s voice shakes the huge oak trees and strips the leaves from the trees while the people in the temple shout, “Praise [God]!”
10 Jehova arĩ igũrũ rĩa mũiyũro wa maaĩ aikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene; Jehova egũtũũra aikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene arĩ Mũthamaki nginya tene.
Yahweh ruled over the flood [that covered the earth]; he is our King who will rule forever.
11 Jehova aheaga andũ ake hinya; Jehova arathimaga andũ ake magaikara na thayũ.
Yahweh enables his people to be strong, and he blesses them by causing things to go well for them.
