< Thaburi 26 >

1 Thaburi ya Daudi Wee Jehova, nduĩra itua rĩa kĩhooto, nĩgũkorwo mĩthiĩre yakwa nĩmĩkindĩrĩku; ndũũrĩte ndĩhokete Jehova itegũthangania.
Of David. O Lord, be my judge, for my behaviour has been upright: I have put my faith in the Lord, I am not in danger of slipping.
2 Wee Jehova, ngeria na ũndorie, tuĩria ngoro yakwa o na meciiria makwa;
Put me in the scales, O Lord, so that I may be tested; let the fire make clean my thoughts and my heart.
3 nĩgũkorwo wendo waku ũkoragwo ũrĩ mbere yakwa, na ngeragĩra njĩra-inĩ yaku ya ũhoro wa ma.
For your mercy is before my eyes; and I have gone in the way of your good faith.
4 Ndiikaranagia na andũ a maheeni, o na kana ngagwatanĩra na andũ arĩa marĩ ũhinga.
I have not taken my seat with foolish persons, and I do not go with false men.
5 Nĩthũire kĩũngano kĩa andũ arĩa mekaga ũũru, na ngarega gũikarania na andũ arĩa aaganu.
I have been a hater of the band of wrongdoers, and I will not be seated among sinners.
6 Ngwĩthamba moko nyonanie ndirĩ na mahĩtia, thiũrũrũke kĩgongona gĩaku, Wee Jehova,
I will make my hands clean from sin; so will I go round your altar, O Lord;
7 nyine nyanĩrĩire rwĩmbo rwa gũcookia ngaatho, na heane ũhoro wa ciĩko ciaku ciothe cia magegania.
That I may give out the voice of praise, and make public all the wonders which you have done.
8 Wee Jehova, nĩnyendete nyũmba ĩrĩa ũtũũraga, o handũ harĩa riiri waku ũikaraga.
Lord, your house has been dear to me, and the resting-place of your glory.
9 Ndũkeherie ngoro yakwa hamwe na ya arĩa mehagia, kana muoyo wakwa hamwe na wa andũ arĩa maitaga thakame,
Let not my soul be numbered among sinners, or my life among men of blood;
10 arĩa marĩ na maũndũ ma waganu moko-inĩ mao, o arĩa moko mao ma ũrĩo maiyũrĩte mahaki.
In whose hands are evil designs, and whose right hands take money for judging falsely.
11 No niĩ-rĩ, ndũũraga mũtũũrĩre ũtarĩ ũcuuke; kĩngũũre na ũnjiguĩre tha.
But as for me, I will go on in my upright ways: be my saviour, and have mercy on me.
12 Magũrũ makwa marũgamĩte handũ harĩa haigananu; nĩndĩrĩgoocaga Jehova ndĩ kĩũngano-inĩ kĩnene.
I have a safe resting-place for my feet; I will give praise to the Lord in the meetings of the people.
