< Thaburi 20 >
1 Thaburi ya Daudi Jehova arogwĩtĩka rĩrĩa ũrĩ mĩnyamaro-inĩ; rĩĩtwa rĩa Ngai wa Jakubu rĩrokũgitĩra.
“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” May the Lord answer thee on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;
2 Arokũrehere ũteithio kuuma handũ harĩa hake haamũre, na agũtiirĩrĩre arĩ kũu Zayuni.
May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and support thee from Zion;
3 Aroririkana magongona maku mothe, na etĩkĩre maruta maku ma njino.
May he remember all thy meat-offerings, and accept in favor thy burnt-sacrifice. (Selah)
4 Arokũhe maũndũ marĩa ngoro yaku ĩĩrirĩirie, na atũme mĩbango yaku yothe ĩgaacĩre.
May he grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy resolves.
5 Rĩrĩa ũkaahootana nĩtũkoigĩrĩria na gĩkeno, na tuoye bendera ciitũ na igũrũ nĩ ũndũ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Ngai witũ. Jehova arokũhingĩria maũndũ marĩa mothe ũmũhooete.
We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we upraise our banners: may the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.
6 Rĩu nĩmenyete atĩ Jehova nĩahonokagia ũrĩa wake mũitĩrĩrie maguta; nĩamwĩtĩkaga arĩ kũu igũrũ rĩake rĩamũre, arĩ na ũhoti wa kũhonokania ũrĩa ũrĩ guoko-inĩ gwake kwa ũrĩo.
Now I know that the Lord saveth his anointed: he will answer him from his holy heavens, with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Andũ amwe mehokaga ngaari cia ita, na angĩ makehoka mbarathi, no ithuĩ twĩhokaga rĩĩtwa rĩa Jehova Ngai witũ.
Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; but we will invoke the name of the Lord our God.
8 Makurumaga makagũa thĩ, no ithuĩ tũrũgamaga tũkehaanda.
They are prostrate and fallen; but we are risen up and stand erect.
9 Wee Jehova, honokia mũthamaki! Twĩtĩkage rĩrĩa twagũkaĩra!
O Lord, save [us]: may the king answer us on the day when we call [on him].
