< Thaburi 2 >
1 Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmaga ndũrĩrĩ iciirĩre gwĩka ũũru na andũ mathugunde maũndũ ma tũhũ?
Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?
2 Athamaki a thĩ nĩmatuĩte itua, na aathani magacookania ndundu nĩguo mookĩrĩre Jehova, na mookĩrĩre Ũrĩa wake Mũitĩrĩrie Maguta.
The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Adonai, and against his Anointed, saying,
3 Moigaga atĩrĩ, “Nĩtwĩohorei mĩnyororo yao, na mabĩngũ mao tũmate matweherere.”
“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”
4 Ũrĩa ũikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene kũu igũrũ no gũtheka aratheka; We Mwathani-rĩ, nĩkũnyũrũria aramanyũrũria.
He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.
5 Ningĩ agacooka akamakũũma arakarĩte, na akamekĩra guoya mũnene angʼũrĩkĩte akameera atĩrĩ,
Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:
6 “Niĩ nĩ niĩ njigĩte Mũthamaki wakwa kũu Zayuni, kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩakwa kĩrĩa kĩamũre.”
“Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking].”
7 Niĩ nĩngwanĩrĩra itua rĩa Jehova: Jehova aanjĩĩrire atĩrĩ, “Wee nĩwe Mũrũ wakwa, ũmũthĩ nĩndatuĩka thoguo.
I will tell of the statute. Adonai said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father.
8 Hooya niĩ, na nĩngũkũhe ndũrĩrĩ ituĩke igai rĩaku, nacio ituri cia thĩ ituĩke ciaku kĩũmbe.
Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
9 Nĩũgaciunanga na njũgũma ya kĩgera ya ũthamaki; ũgaacihehenja ihaane ta tũcunjĩ twa nyũngũ ya rĩũmba.”
You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like pottery.”
10 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, inyuĩ athamaki ta kĩũhĩgeei, inyuĩ aathani a thĩ mũtaarĩke.
Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Tungatĩrai Jehova mũkĩmwĩtigagĩra, na mũkene o mũkĩinainaga.
Abad ·Serve· Adonai with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Mumunyai Mũriũ, ndakae kũrakara, na inyuĩ mũniinĩrwo njĩra-inĩ, nĩgũkorwo mangʼũrĩ make maahota kũrĩrĩmbũka o rĩmwe. Kũrathimwo-rĩ, nĩ arĩa othe moragĩra harĩ we.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
