1 Thaburi ya Daudi Jehova, nũũ ũngĩtũũra hema-inĩ yaku? Nũũ ũngĩtũũra kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩaku kĩrĩa kĩamũre?
A psalm of David. Lord, who can be guest in your tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?
2 Nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa mĩthiĩre yake ĩtarĩ ũcuuke, na ũrĩa wĩkaga maũndũ ma ũthingu, na kwaria aragia ũhoro wa ma kuuma ngoro-inĩ yake,
The person whose walk is blameless, whose conduct is right, whose words are true and sincere;
3 na ndarĩ njambanio rũrĩmĩ-inĩ rwake, na ndeekaga mũndũ wa itũũra rĩake ũũru, o na kana akamenereria mũndũ ũrĩa ũngĩ;
on whose tongue there sits no slander, who will not harm a friend,
4 mũndũ ũcio nĩathũire mũndũ ũrĩa wĩkaga maũndũ mooru, no nĩatĩĩte arĩa etigĩri Jehova, na ndagaga kũhingia mwĩhĩtwa wake, o na ũngĩkorwo ũrĩ wa kũmũtuuria,
nor cruelly insult a neighbour, who regards with contempt those rejected by God; but honours those who obey the Lord, who keeps an oath, whatever the cost,
5 ndakombanagĩra mbeeca ciake nĩguo one uumithio, na ndangĩoya ihaki nĩguo ahatĩrĩrie mũndũ ũteehĩtie. Mũndũ ũrĩa wĩkaga maũndũ ta macio ndarĩ hĩndĩ akeenyenyeka.
whose money is lent without interest, and never takes a bribe to hurt the innocent. The person who does these things will always stand firm.
