1 Goocai Jehova. Wee ngoro yakwa-rĩ, gooca Jehova.

Praise Yahweh! With my whole inner being I will praise Yahweh.

2 Ndĩgoocaga Jehova hĩndĩ ĩrĩa yothe ngũtũũra muoyo; ndĩrĩinaga, ngoocage Ngai wakwa rĩrĩa rĩothe ngũtũũra muoyo.

I will praise Yahweh as long as I am alive; I will sing to praise my God for [the rest of] my life.

3 Ndũkanaige mwĩhoko waku harĩ anene, kana harĩ andũ, arĩa matangĩhota kũhonokania.

[You people], do not trust in your leaders; do not trust humans because they cannot save/rescue you [from your difficulties/problems].

4 Rĩrĩa roho wao wameherera, macookaga o tĩĩri-inĩ; mũthenya o ro ũcio mĩbango yao ĩtuĩkaga ya tũhũ.

And when they die, their corpses [decay and] become soil again. After they die, they can no longer do the things that they planned to do.

5 Kũrathimwo-rĩ, nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa ũteithio wake uumaga kũrĩ Mũrungu wa Jakubu, ũrĩa mwĩhoko wake ũrĩ harĩ Jehova Ngai wake,

But those whose helper is the God whom Jacob [worshiped] are happy. The one whom they confidently expect [to help them] is Yahweh, their God.

6 Mũũmbi wa igũrũ na thĩ, na iria, na kĩrĩa gĩothe gĩtũũraga thĩinĩ wacio: ũcio nĩwe Jehova, ũrĩa ũtũũraga arĩ mwĩhokeku nginya tene.

He is the one who created heaven and the earth and the oceans and all [the creatures] that are in them. He always does what he has promised to do.

7 Nĩarũgamagĩrĩra kĩhooto kĩa arĩa ahatĩrĩrie, na akahe arĩa ahũtu irio. Jehova nĩwe wohoraga arĩa mohetwo,

He decides matters fairly for those who are (treated unfairly/oppressed), and he provides food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are in prison.

8 Jehova nĩahingũraga maitho ma arĩa atumumu, Jehova nĩatiiraga arĩa mainamĩte, Jehova nĩendete andũ arĩa athingu.

Yahweh enables those who are blind to see again. He lifts up those who have fallen down. He loves righteous [people].

9 Jehova nĩamenyagĩrĩra andũ a kũngĩ, na agatũũria ciana cia ngoriai o na mũtumia wa ndigwa, no njĩra cia andũ arĩa aaganu nĩacirigiicaga.

Yahweh takes care of those from other countries who live in our land, and he helps widows and orphans. But he gets rid of wicked [people].

10 Jehova egũtũũra athamakaga nginya tene, Ngai waku, wee Zayuni, athamakage njiarwa na njiarwa. Goocai Jehova.

Yahweh will [continue to] be our king forever; you people of Israel, your God will rule forever! Praise Yahweh!
