< Thaburi 143 >

1 Thaburi ya Daudi Igua ihooya rĩakwa, Wee Jehova, thikĩrĩria kĩrĩro gĩakwa ũnjiguĩre tha; ũka ũndeithie, nĩ ũndũ wa wĩhokeku waku na ũthingu waku.
A Melody of David. O Yahweh, hear my prayer, Give ear to my supplications, In thy faithfulness, answer me, in thy righteousness.
2 Ndũgaciirithie ndungata yaku, nĩgũkorwo maitho-inĩ maku gũtirĩ mũndũ ũrĩ muoyo ũngĩtuuo mũthingu.
Do not then enter into judgment with thy servant, for no one living, can appear just before thee.
3 Thũ nĩĩthingatĩte, ĩkangurumania thĩ tĩĩri-inĩ; ĩtũmaga ndũũre nduma-inĩ ta arĩa maakuire tene.
For an enemy hath pursued my soul, hath crushed, to the earth, my life, hath made me dwell in dark places, like the ancient dead.
4 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio roho wakwa ũkaringĩka thĩinĩ wakwa; ngoro yakwa nĩĩmakĩte mũno thĩinĩ wakwa.
Therefore hath my spirit, fainted concerning myself, Within me, hath, my heart, been confounded.
5 Nĩndĩrĩririkanaga matukũ marĩa ma tene; ndĩrĩcũũranagia mawĩko maku mothe na ngatarania maũndũ marĩa moko maku meekĩte.
I have remembered the days of aforetime, I have talked with myself of every deed of thine, Of the work of thy hands, I would speak:
6 Ndambũrũkĩtie moko makwa na kũrĩ we; muoyo wakwa ũkũnyootagĩra ta bũrũri ũrĩa mũũmũ.
I have spread out my hands unto thee, My soul, is as a thirsty land, for thee. (Selah)
7 Wee Jehova, hiũha kũnjĩtĩka; roho wakwa nĩũthirĩtwo nĩ hinya. Tiga kũũhitha ũthiũ waku, ndikahaane ta arĩa matoonyaga irima.
Speedily answer me, O Yahweh, My spirit faileth, —Do not hide thy face from me, or I shall be made like unto them who go down into the pit.
8 O rũciinĩ reke njiguage kiugo kĩa wendo waku ũrĩa ũtathiraga, nĩgũkorwo nĩwe ndĩĩhokete. Nyonia njĩra ĩrĩa njagĩrĩirwo nĩkũgera, nĩgũkorwo muoyo wakwa ndĩwerekeirie igũrũ kũrĩ we.
Let me hear, in the morning, thy lovingkindness, for, in thee, have, I trusted, —Let me know the way in which I should walk, for, unto thee, have I uplifted my soul.
9 Ndeithũra kuuma kũrĩ thũ ciakwa, Wee Jehova, nĩgũkorwo ndĩĩhithaga harĩwe.
Rescue me from my foes, O Yahweh, Unto thee, have I come seeking refuge.
10 Nduta gwĩkaga wendi waku, nĩgũkorwo Wee nĩwe Ngai wakwa; Roho waku mwega arondongoragia, ngeragĩre kũrĩa kwaraganu.
Teach me to do thy good pleasure, for, thou, art my God, —Thy spirit, is good, thou wilt set me down to rest in a level land.
11 Wee Jehova, nĩ ũndũ wa rĩĩtwa rĩaku, tũũria muoyo wakwa; nĩ ũndũ wa ũthingu waku-rĩ, nduta kuuma mĩnyamaro-inĩ.
For the sake of thy Name, O Yahweh, wilt thou give unto me life, In thy righteousness, wilt thou bring forth, out of distress, my soul;
12 Nĩ ũndũ wa wendo waku ũtathiraga, kiria thũ ciakwa; niina arĩa othe maathũire, nĩgũkorwo niĩ ndĩ ndungata yaku.
And, in thy lovingkindness, wilt thou exterminate my foes, —and destroy all the adversaries of my soul, because, I, am thy servant.
