1 Thaburi ya Daudi Wee Jehova, nĩwe ndĩrakaĩra; hiũha ũũke kũrĩ niĩ. Igua mũgambo wakwa ngĩgũkaĩra.
Adonai, I have called on you. Come to me quickly! Listen to my voice when I call to you.
2 Ihooya rĩakwa rĩroambata mbere yaku ta mũtararĩko wa ũbumba; nakuo kwambararia moko makwa kũrotuĩka ta igongona rĩa hwaĩ-inĩ.
Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.
3 Wee Jehova, iga mũrangĩri kanua-inĩ gakwa, rangagĩra mũrango ũyũ wa mĩromo yakwa.
Set a watch, Adonai, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips.
4 Ndũkareke ngoro yakwa ĩguucĩrĩrio ũndũ-inĩ mũũru, ndigatuĩke wa gwĩka ciĩko cia waganu hamwe na andũ arĩa amaramari; Ndũkareke ndĩe irio ciao iria irĩ mũrĩo.
Don’t incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice deeds of ethical wickedness with men who work vain striving of iniquity. Don’t let me eat of their delicacies.
5 Mũndũ mũthingu nĩakĩĩninge: ũndũ ũcio nĩ wa kũnyonia ũtugi; kũndũithia nĩakĩndũithie: ũguo no ta kũnjitĩrĩria maguta mũtwe wakwa. Mũtwe wakwa ndũngĩrega gũitĩrĩrio maguta macio. No rĩrĩ, ihooya rĩakwa nĩ rĩa gũtũũra ndeganĩte na ciĩko cia andũ arĩa meekaga ũũru;
Let the upright strike me, it is kindness; let him reprove me, it is like oil on the head; don’t let my head refuse it; Yet my prayer is always against evil deeds.
6 aathani ao magaikio thĩ kuuma igũrũ rĩa rwaro rwa ihiga, nao arĩa aaganu nĩmakamenya atĩ ciugo ciakwa ciarĩ cia ma.
Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock. They will sh'ma ·hear obey· my words, for they are well spoken.
7 Nĩmakoiga atĩrĩ, “O ta ũrĩa mũndũ acimbaga mũgũnda na akahũũra hianyũ, no taguo mahĩndĩ maitũ maharaganĩtio mũromo-inĩ wa mbĩrĩra.” (Sheol h7585)
“As when one plows and breaks up the earth, our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol ·Place of the dead·.” (Sheol h7585)
8 No rĩrĩ, maitho makwa nĩwe macũthĩrĩirie, Wee Mwathani Jehova; nĩ harĩwe njũragĩra; nĩ ũndũ ũcio ndũkareke ngue.
For my eyes are on you, Adonai, the 'Adonay [Yahweh the Lord]. In you, I take refuge. Don’t leave my soul destitute.
9 Ngitĩra ndikanyiitwo nĩ mĩtego ĩrĩa nyambĩirwo, ũnjehanĩrĩrie na mĩtego ya andũ arĩa mekaga ũũru.
Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, from the traps of the workers of vain striving of iniquity.
10 Andũ acio aaganu maroogwa wabu-inĩ wao ene, no niĩ ngĩhĩtũkage itekuona ũgwati.
Let the wicked fall together into their own nets, while I pass by.
