< Thaburi 129 >
1 Thaburi ya Agendi Maanahinyĩrĩria mũno kuuma ũnini-inĩ wakwa, Isiraeli nĩmakiuge ũguo,
“A song of the degrees.” Many a time have they assailed me from my youth, so should Israel say;
2 maanahinyĩrĩria mũno kuuma ũnini-inĩ wakwa, no rĩrĩ, matirĩ maahota kũndooria.
Many a time have they assailed me from my youth: yet have they not prevailed against me.
3 Andũ arĩa marĩmaga na mũraũ marĩmĩte ngʼongʼo wakwa, magatema mĩtaro mĩraihu.
Upon my back have ploughmen ploughed; they have drawn long their furrows:
4 No rĩrĩ, Jehova nĩ mũthingu; nĩanjohorithĩtie harĩ mĩhĩndo ya andũ arĩa aaganu.
[Yet] the Lord is righteous; he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
5 Andũ arĩa othe mathũire Zayuni marocookio na thuutha maconokete.
May all be put to shame and turned backward that hate Zion;
6 Marohaana ta nyeki ĩrĩ nyũmba igũrũ, ĩrĩa ĩhoohaga ĩtanamera;
May they become like the grass of the roofs, which withereth before it is pulled up;
7 mũmĩtui ndangĩmĩiyũria hĩ-inĩ ciake, o na kana ũrĩa ũmĩũnganagia amĩiyũrie moko-inĩ make.
Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor his arm he that bindeth sheaves.
8 Andũ arĩa mahĩtũkagĩra kuo maroaga kuuga atĩrĩ, “Kĩrathimo kĩa Jehova kĩrogĩa igũrũ rĩanyu; nĩtwamũrathima thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Jehova.”
Nor do they who pass by say, The blessing of the Lord be with you: we bless you in the name of the Lord.
