1 Goocai Jehova. Kũrathimwo nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa wĩtigagĩra Jehova, ũrĩa ũkenagĩra maathani make mũno.
Praise ye the LORD. Blessed [is] the man [that] feareth the LORD, [that] delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 Ciana ciake nĩigatuĩka cia bata bũrũri-inĩ; rũciaro rwa arĩa arũngĩrĩru nĩrũkarathimwo.
His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Gwake mũciĩ gũkoragwo na ũtonga na indo nyingĩ, naguo ũthingu wake ũtũũraga nginya tene.
Wealth and riches [shall be] in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 Mũndũ ũrĩa mũrũngĩrĩru o na arĩ nduma-inĩ nĩatheragĩrwo nĩ ũtheri, ũgatherera mũndũ ũcio mũtugani, ningĩ arĩ tha, o na nĩ mũthingu.
To the upright there ariseth light in darkness: [he is] gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 Mũndũ ũcio mũtugani na ũheanaga o ũguo tũhũ, o ũcio wĩkaga maũndũ make na kĩhooto-rĩ, nĩarĩonaga maũndũ mega.
A good man showeth favor, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Ti-itherũ mũndũ ũcio ndakenyenyeka; mũndũ mũthingu atũũraga aririkanagwo nginya tene.
Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 Angĩigua ũhoro mũũru ndangĩĩtigĩra; ngoro yake nĩĩkindĩire, aikaraga ehokete o Jehova.
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
8 Ngoro yake nĩngitĩre, ndangĩĩtigĩra; marigĩrĩrio-inĩ nĩakoona gũtoorio gwa thũ ciake.
His heart [is] established, he shall not be afraid, until he seeth [his desire] upon his enemies.
9 Nĩahurunjĩte iheo ciake akahe andũ arĩa athĩĩni, naguo ũthingu wake ũtũũraga nginya tene; rũhĩa rwake nĩrũkambarario na igũrũ, aheo gĩtĩĩo.
He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.
10 Mũndũ ũrĩa mwaganu nĩakoona ũguo na arakare, nĩakahagarania magego make, acooke abuĩrie; merirĩria ma arĩa aaganu matigaakinyanĩra.
The wicked shall see [it], and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
