< Thaburi 109 >

1 Thaburi ya Daudi Wee Ngai, ũrĩa ngoocaga, ndũgaakire,
To the chief Musician. Of David. A Psalm. O God of my praise, be not silent:
2 nĩgũkorwo andũ arĩa aaganu na a maheeni nĩmathamĩtie tũnua nĩguo manjũkĩrĩre; nĩmarĩtie ũhoro wakwa na rũrĩmĩ rwa maheeni.
For the mouth of the wicked [man] and the mouth of deceit are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue,
3 Mandigicĩirie makĩaragia ndeto cia rũthũũro; maatharĩkagĩra hatarĩ gĩtũmi.
And with words of hatred have they encompassed me; and they fight against me without a cause.
4 Handũ ha wendo ũrĩa ndĩmendete naguo, o nĩ gũũthitanga maathitangaga, no niĩ nĩkũhooya ndĩmahooyagĩra.
For my love they are mine adversaries; but I [give myself unto] prayer.
5 Mandĩhaga wega na ũũru, na makandĩha wendani na rũthũũro.
And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
6 Mũndũ ũrĩa wĩkĩte ũguo mũigĩre mũndũ mũũru amũũkĩrĩre; mwena wake wa ũrĩo nĩkũrũgame mũndũ wa kũmũthitanga.
Set a wicked [man] over him, and let [the] adversary stand at his right hand;
7 Aacirithio-rĩ, nĩatuuagwo mwĩhia, na kũhooya gwake gũgĩtuĩke no kwĩhia.
When he shall be judged, let him go out guilty, and let his prayer become sin;
8 Matukũ make maronyiiha; ũtongoria wake ũrooywo nĩ mũndũ ũngĩ.
Let his days be few, let another take his office;
9 Ciana ciake irotuĩka cia ngoriai, na mũtumia wake atuĩke wa ndigwa.
Let his sons be fatherless, and his wife a widow;
10 Ciana ciake irotuĩka njara-rũhĩ cia gũcangacanga; iroingatwo ciume mĩciĩ yao ĩyo mĩanangĩku.
Let his sons be vagabonds and beg, and let them seek [their bread] far from their desolate places;
11 Indo ciake ciothe irotahwo nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa marĩ thiirĩ nake; andũ a kũngĩ nĩmeyoere maciaro ma wĩra wake.
Let the usurer cast the net over all that he hath, and let strangers despoil his labour;
12 Aroaga mũndũ ũngĩmwonia ũtugi, o na kana mũndũ ũngĩiguĩra ciana icio ciake cia ngoriai tha.
Let there be none to extend kindness unto him, neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children;
13 Njiaro ciake iroeherio, na marĩĩtwa maacio mathario kuuma rũciaro-inĩ rũrĩa rũgooka.
Let his posterity be cut off; in the generation following let their name be blotted out:
14 Waganu wa maithe make ũrotũũra ũririkanagwo nĩ Jehova; wĩhia wa nyina ũroaga gũgaathario o na rĩ.
Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with Jehovah, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out;
15 Mehia mao marotũũra hĩndĩ ciothe marĩ mbere ya Jehova, nĩguo akaaniina kũririkanwo kwao gũkũ thĩ.
Let them be before Jehovah continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth:
16 Nĩgũkorwo mũndũ ũcio we ndarĩ hĩndĩ eciiragia ũhoro wa gũtugana, no aingatithagia mũndũ ũrĩa mũthĩĩni, na ũrĩa mũbatari, o na ũrĩa mũthuthĩku ngoro, o nginya akamooraga.
Because he remembered not to shew kindness, but persecuted the afflicted and needy man, and the broken in heart, to slay him.
17 Aronyiitwo nĩ kĩrumi, tondũ we endete o kũruma andũ manyiitwo nĩ kĩrumi; kĩrathimo kĩromũraihĩrĩria, tondũ we ndendaga kũrathimana.
And he loved cursing; so let it come unto him. And he delighted not in blessing; and let it be far from him.
18 Ehumbaga kĩrumi taarĩ nguo; kĩamũtoonyire mwĩrĩ ta maaĩ, o na gĩkĩmũtoonya mahĩndĩ-inĩ taarĩ maguta.
And he clothed himself with cursing like his vestment; so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones;
19 Kĩrotuĩka taarĩ nguo ya igũrũ erigiicĩirie, na gĩtuĩke taarĩ mũcibi ehotorete nginya tene.
Let it be unto him as a garment with which he covereth himself, and for a girdle wherewith he is constantly girded.
20 Rĩrĩ nĩrĩtuĩke irĩhi rĩa Jehova kũrĩ arĩa maathitangaga, o kũrĩ arĩa maaragia ũũru igũrũ rĩakwa.
Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from Jehovah, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
21 No rĩrĩ, Wee Mwathani Jehova, njĩka maũndũ mega nĩ ũndũ wa rĩĩtwa rĩaku; ndeithũra tondũ wa wega wa wendo waku.
But do thou for me, Jehovah, Lord, for thy name's sake; because thy loving-kindness is good, deliver me:
22 Nĩgũkorwo ndĩ mũthĩĩni na mũbatari, nayo ngoro yakwa nĩĩgurarĩtio thĩinĩ wakwa.
For I am afflicted and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 Ndĩ hakuhĩ kũbuĩria o ta kĩĩruru kĩa hwaĩ-inĩ; hurutagwo nĩ rũhuho o ta ngigĩ.
I am gone like a shadow when it lengtheneth; I am tossed about like the locust;
24 Maru makwa nĩmaregerete nĩ kwĩima kũrĩa; mwĩrĩ wakwa ũhĩnjĩte nĩ kwaga maguta.
My knees are failing through fasting, and my flesh hath lost its fatness;
25 Nduĩkĩte kĩndũ gĩa kũnyũrũrio nĩ andũ arĩa maathitangaga; rĩrĩa maanyona, mainainagia mĩtwe.
And I am become a reproach unto them; [when] they look upon me they shake their heads.
26 Wee Jehova Ngai wakwa, ndeithia; honokia kũringana na wendo waku.
Help me, Jehovah my God; save me according to thy loving-kindness:
27 Tũma mamenye atĩ kũu nĩ guoko gwaku, mamenye atĩ Wee Jehova, nĩwe wĩkĩte ũguo.
That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Jehovah, hast done it.
28 O nĩ marumanage, no wee ũrathimanage; rĩrĩa maatharĩkĩra nĩmarĩconorithagio, no ndungata yaku no gũkena ĩrĩkenaga.
Let them curse, but bless thou; when they rise up, let them be ashamed, and let thy servant rejoice.
29 Arĩa maathitangaga makaahumbwo njono na mohwo thoni taarĩ nguo ya igũrũ.
Let mine adversaries be clothed with confusion, and let them cover themselves with their shame as with a mantle.
30 Nĩndĩrĩkumagia Jehova mũno na kanua gakwa; nĩndĩrĩmũgoocaga ndĩ kĩrĩndĩ-inĩ kĩnene.
I will greatly celebrate Jehovah with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
31 Nĩgũkorwo arũgamaga guoko-inĩ kwa ũrĩo kwa mũndũ ũrĩa mũbatari, nĩguo ahonokagie muoyo wake harĩ andũ arĩa mangĩmũtua nĩ mwĩhia.
For he standeth at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those that judge his soul.
