< Thaburi 108 >
1 Thaburi ya Daudi Wee Ngai, ngoro yakwa nĩĩkindĩirie; nĩkũina ngũina, ngũgooce na rwĩmbo na muoyo wakwa wothe.
A Song, a Melody: David’s. Fixed, is my heart, O God, I will sing and touch the strings, even mine honour.
2 Arahũka, wee kĩnanda kĩa mũgeeto na gĩa kĩnũbi! Ngwarahũka ruoro rũgĩtema.
Awake, O harp and lyre, I will awaken the dawn!
3 Wee Jehova nĩngũkũgooca, ngũgooce gatagatĩ-inĩ ka ndũrĩrĩ; nĩngũkũinĩra ndĩ gatagatĩ-inĩ ka andũ.
I will thank thee among the peoples, O Yahweh, and will sing praise unto thee, among the tribes of men.
4 Nĩgũkorwo wendo waku nĩ mũnene, ũkaraiha gũkĩra igũrũ; wĩhokeku waku ũkinyaga o matu-inĩ.
For, great, above the heavens, is thy lovingkindness, and, as far as the skies, thy faithfulness.
5 Wee Ngai tũũgĩra, ũtũũgĩrio igũrũ rĩa igũrũ, riiri waku nĩũgĩe igũrũ rĩa thĩ yothe.
Be thou exalted above the heavens, O God, And, above all the earth, be thy glory.
6 Tũhonokie na ũtũteithie na guoko gwaku kwa ũrĩo, nĩguo ũteithũre arĩa wendete.
To the end thy beloved ones may be delivered, Oh save thou with thy right hand and answer me!
7 Ngai nĩarĩtie arĩ handũ hake harĩa haamũre, akoiga atĩrĩ: “Nĩngatũranga Shekemu ndĩ na gĩkeno kĩingĩ, na thimĩre andũ akwa Gĩtuamba gĩa Sukothu.
God, hath spoken in his holiness, I will exult! I will apportion Shechem! And, the Vale of Succoth, will I measure out;
8 Gileadi nĩ gwakwa, o na Manase no gwakwa; Efiraimu nĩ ngũbia yakwa ya kĩgera, na Juda nĩ mũthĩgi wakwa wa ũthamaki.
Mine, is Gilead—mine, Manasseh, but, Ephraim, is the defence of my head, Judah, is my commander’s staff;
9 Moabi nĩ kĩraĩ gĩakwa gĩa gwĩthambĩra, na Edomu nĩho njikagia kĩraatũ gĩakwa; nĩngwanĩrĩra nĩ ũrĩa ndooretie bũrũri wa Filistia.”
Moab, is my wash-bowl, Upon Edom, will I throw my shoe, Over Philistia, raise a shout of triumph.
10 Nũũ ũkũnginyia itũũra rĩrĩa inene rĩirigĩre? Nũũ ũkũndongoria andware Edomu?
Who will conduct me to a fortified city? Who will lead me as far as Edom?
11 Githĩ tiwe, Wee Ngai, o Wee ũtũtiganĩirie, na ũgatiga gũtwarana na mbũtũ ciitũ cia ita?
Hast not thou, O God, rejected us? and wilt not go forth, O God, with our hosts.
12 Tũteithie ũtũhootanĩre harĩ thũ ciitũ, nĩgũkorwo ũteithio wa mũndũ nĩ wa tũhũ.
Grant us help out of distress, for, vain, is the deliverance of man:
13 Ngai arĩ hamwe na ithuĩ nĩtũkũhootana, na nĩakarangĩrĩria thũ ciitũ thĩ.
In God, shall we do valiantly, He himself, therefore, shall tread down our adversaries.
