1 Cookeria Jehova ngaatho, kaĩrai rĩĩtwa rĩake; menyithiai ndũrĩrĩ maũndũ marĩa ekĩte.
Give ye thanks to Yahweh, Call upon his Name, Make known, among the peoples, his doings;
2 Mũinĩrei, mũmũinĩre mũkĩmũgoocaga; heanai ũhoro wa ciĩko ciake ciothe cia magegania.
Sing ye to him, Make ye music to him, Speak ye of all his wonders.
3 Mwĩrahei nĩ ũndũ wa rĩĩtwa rĩake itheru; ngoro cia arĩa marongoragia Jehova nĩikene.
Make your boast in his holy Name, Joyful be the heart of them who are seeking Yahweh.
4 Cũthĩrĩriai Jehova na hinya wake; mathaai ũthiũ wake hĩndĩ ciothe.
Search out Yahweh and his strength, Seek diligently his face at all times.
Remember his wonders which he hath done, His portents, and the just decisions of his mouth.
6 inyuĩ njiaro cia Iburahĩmu ndungata yake, o inyuĩ ciana cia Jakubu, inyuĩ ake athuure.
O ye Seed of Abraham—his servants, Sons of Jacob—his chosen ones:
7 Jehova nĩwe Ngai witũ; matuĩro make ma ciira marĩ thĩ yothe.
Yahweh himself, is our God, Through all the land, are his just decision.
8 Nĩaririkanaga kĩrĩkanĩro gĩake nginya tene, nĩkĩo kiugo kĩrĩa aathanire, nĩ ũndũ wa njiarwa ngiri,
He hath remembered, unto times age-abiding, his covenant, The word he commanded, to a thousand generations;
9 kĩrĩkanĩro kĩrĩa aarĩkanĩire na Iburahĩmu, na noguo mwĩhĩtwa ũrĩa eehĩtire harĩ Isaaka.
Which he solemnised with Abraham, and his oath, to Isaac;
10 Nĩagĩĩkĩrire hinya harĩ Jakubu kĩrĩ kĩrĩra gĩake kĩa watho wa kũrũmagĩrĩrwo, agĩgĩĩkĩra hinya harĩ Isiraeli kĩrĩ kĩrĩkanĩro gĩa gũtũũra tene na tene:
And confirmed it unto Jacob for a statute, To Israel, as a covenant age-abiding;
11 “Wee nĩwe ngaahe bũrũri wa Kaanani ũtuĩke igai rĩrĩa ũkaagaya.”
Saying, To thee, will I give the land of Canaan, As your inherited portion;
12 Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa maarĩ o anini magĩtarwo, o anini biũ, na marĩ ageni kuo-rĩ,
While as yet they were men easily counted, —A very few, and sojourners therein;
13 morũũraga kuuma rũrĩrĩ rũmwe nginya rũrĩa rũngĩ, na kuuma ũthamaki-inĩ ũmwe nginya ũrĩa ũngĩ.
And they wandered from nation to nation, From a kingdom, to another people.
14 Ndarĩ mũndũ o na ũmwe eetĩkĩririe amanyariire; nĩ ũndũ wao akĩrũithia athamaki, akĩmeera atĩrĩ:
He suffered no son of earth to oppress them, And reproved—for their sakes—[even] kings!
15 “Mũtikanahutie andũ arĩa akwa aitĩrĩrie maguta; mũtikaneke anabii akwa ũũru.”
Ye may not touch mine Anointed ones, And, to my Prophets, may ye do no wrong.
16 Agĩtũma bũrũri ũcio ũgĩe ngʼaragu, na akĩniina mĩthiithũ yao yothe ya irio;
Then called he a famine over the land, All the staff of bread, he brake;
17 agĩtũma mũndũ athiĩ mbere yao: nĩwe Jusufu, ũrĩa wendirio arĩ ngombo.
He sent before them a man, For a slave, was he sold—[even] Joseph;
18 Nĩmamũtiihirie magũrũ na bĩngũ, na makĩmuoha ngingo na igera,
They forced, into a fetter, his foot, Into the iron, entered his soul;
19 nginya ũrĩa oigĩte ũgĩkinyanĩra, nginya kiugo kĩa Jehova gĩkĩonania atĩ aarĩ mũndũ wa ma.
Until the time when his word came to pass, Speech of Yahweh, proved him;
The king sent, and set him free, One having dominion over peoples, yet loosed he his bonds;
He appointed him lord to his household, And one having dominion over all he possessed;
22 nĩguo ataarage anene ake o ũrĩa angĩonire kwagĩrĩire, na arutage athuuri ake ũũgĩ.
That he might bind his rulers as he pleased, And, his elders, he might embue with wisdom.
23 Hĩndĩ ĩyo Isiraeli agĩthiĩ Misiri; Jakubu agĩtũũra arĩ mũgeni bũrũri-inĩ ũcio wa Hamu.
So Israel came into Egypt, And, Jacob, sojourned in the land of Ham;
24 Jehova agĩtũma andũ ake maciarane mũno; agĩtũma maingĩhe mũno gũkĩra thũ ciao,
And he made his people exceeding fruitful, —And caused them to become stronger than their adversaries.
25 iria aagarũrire ngoro ciao agĩtũma ithũũre andũ ake, agĩtũma ithugundĩre ndungata ciake ũũru.
He let them turn their heart—To hate his people, To deal treacherously with his servants;
He sent Moses his servant, Aaron, whom he had chosen.
27 Nao makĩringa ciama ciake gatagatĩ-inĩ kao, magĩĩka magegania make bũrũri-inĩ wa Hamu.
He set among them his threatening signs, And his wonders, in the land of Ham;
28 Agĩtũma kũgĩe nduma naguo bũrũri ũcio ũgĩtumana, tondũ-rĩ, githĩ ti ciugo ciake maaremeire?
He sent darkness, and made it dark, But they rebelled against his words;
29 Akĩgarũra maaĩ mao magĩtuĩka thakame, agĩtũma thamaki ciao ikue.
He turned their waters into blood, And so caused their fish to die;
30 Bũrũri wao ũkĩiyũra ciũra, iria ciatoonyire nginya tũnyũmba twa toro twa anene ao.
Their land swarmed with frogs, In the chambers of their kings!
He spake, and there came in the gad-fly, Gnats, in all their bounds;
32 Akĩgarũra mbura yao ĩgĩtuĩka ya mbembe, na heni ikĩhenũka bũrũri-inĩ wao wothe;
He made their showers—hail, A fire flaming throughout their land;
And he smote their vines, and their fig-trees, And brake in pieces the trees of their bounds;
34 Aaririe, nacio ngigĩ igĩũka, na ndaahi itangĩtarĩka;
He spake—then came the swarming locust, —The devouring locust, and that without number;
And devoured all the herbage in their land, And devoured the fruit of their ground.
36 Ningĩ akĩũraga marigithathi mothe ma bũrũri wao, maciaro ma mbere ma ũciari wao wothe.
Then smote he every firstborn in their land, The beginning of all their strength;
Thus brought he them forth, with silver and gold, Nor was there, throughout his tribes, one that faltered;
38 Andũ a Misiri nĩmakenire moima kuo, tondũ nĩmanyiitĩtwo nĩ guoya wa andũ acio a Isiraeli.
Egypt rejoiced when they went out, For the dread of them had fallen upon them.
He spread out a cloud as a covering, And fire, to give light by night,
40 Metirie irio, nake akĩmarehere tũmakia-arũme, na akĩmahũũnia na irio cia igũrũ.
They asked, and he brought in the quail, —And, with the bread of the heavens, he satisfied them;
41 Aatũranirie rwaro rwa ihiga, namo maaĩ magĩtothoka; magĩgĩtherera ta rũũĩ kũu werũ-inĩ.
He opened the rock, and there gushed forth waters, They flowed along, through parched places, as a river;
For he remembered his holy word, With Abraham his servant.
43 Nĩaarutire andũ ake makiuma kũu makenete, akĩruta acio ake athuure makĩanagĩrĩra nĩ gũkena;
Thus brought he forth his people with gladness, —With shouts of triumph, his chosen ones;
44 akĩmahe mabũrũri ma ndũrĩrĩ, nao magĩtuĩka a kũgaya kĩrĩa andũ angĩ maanogeire,
And gave them, the lands of the nations, And, of the toil of the peoples, took they possession:
45 nĩguo marũmagie mataaro make, na maathĩkagĩre mawatho make. Goocai Jehova.
In order that they might observe his statutes, And, over his laws, might keep watch, Praise ye Yah.
