< Thaburi 101 >

1 Thaburi ya Daudi Niĩ ndĩinaga ũhoro wa wendo na wa kĩhooto gĩaku; Wee Jehova nĩwe ndĩrĩgoocaga na rwĩmbo.
David’s. A Melody. Of lovingkindness and of justice, will I sing! Unto thee, O Yahweh, will I touch the strings!
2 Nĩngwĩmenyerera ndũũre mũtũũrĩre ũtarĩ ũcuuke: nĩ rĩ ũgaagĩũka kũrĩ niĩ? Nĩndĩrĩikaraga mũciĩ gwakwa ndĩ na ngoro ĩtarĩ ũcuuke.
I will behave myself wisely in a blameless way, When wilt thou come in unto me? I will walk to and fro in the blamelessness of my heart, —in the midst of my house:
3 Gũtirĩ ũndũ mũũru ndĩrĩigaga mbere ya maitho makwa. Nĩthũire ciĩko cia andũ arĩa matarĩ wĩtĩkio; ndingĩĩtĩkĩra menyiitĩrĩre harĩ niĩ.
I will not set before mine eyes, a vile thing, —The doing of them who fall away, I hate, It shall not cleave unto me;
4 Ndĩrĩikaraga haraihu na andũ arĩa marĩ ngoro nemi; ũũru-rĩ, ndirĩ hĩndĩ ngaanyiitanĩra naguo.
A perverse heart, shall depart from me, A maker of mischief, will I not acknowledge;
He that uttereth slander in secret against his friend, him, will I root out; One of lofty eyes, and of an ambitious heart, him shall I not be able to endure.
6 Maitho makwa-rĩ, marĩroraga andũ arĩa ehokeku bũrũri-inĩ, nĩguo maikaranagie na niĩ; mũndũ ũrĩa mĩthiĩre yake ĩtarĩ ũcuuke-rĩ, ũcio nĩarĩndungatagĩra.
Mine eyes, shall be upon the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me, —he that walketh in a blameless way, he, shall attend me.
7 Gũtirĩ mũndũ wĩkaga maũndũ ma mawara ũgaikara nyũmba-inĩ yakwa; gũtirĩ mũndũ waragia maheeni ũkaarũgama mbere yakwa.
There shall not dwell in the midst of my house, One who worketh deceit, —he that speaketh falsehoods, shall not be established before mine eyes;
8 O rũciinĩ nĩndĩrĩkiragia arĩa othe aaganu bũrũri-inĩ; nĩngeheria andũ arĩa othe mekaga ũũru mathire itũũra-inĩ rĩrĩa inene rĩa Jehova.
Morning by morning, will I uproot, All the lawless ones of the land, That I may cut off, out of the city of Yahweh—All the workers of iniquity.
