1 Nĩ kaba kĩenyũ kĩũmũ kĩa mũgate kũndũ kũrĩ na thayũ na ũhooreri, gũkĩra nyũmba ĩiyũrĩte ndĩa no ĩrĩ na ngũĩ.
[is] good A morsel dry and quietness with it more than a house full sacrifices of strife.
2 Ndungata ĩrĩ na ũũgĩ ĩgaatuĩka ya gwatha mũriũ wa mwene yo ũrĩa ũrehaga njono, na nĩĩkegwatĩra igai ĩrĩ ta ũmwe wa ariũ a mwathi wayo.
A servant [who] acts prudently he will rule over a son [who] acts shamefully and in among brothers he will share [the] inheritance.
3 Nyũngũ nĩ ya gũthererio betha, na kĩrugutĩro nĩ gĩa gũthererio thahabu, no Jehova nĩwe ũgeragia ngoro cia andũ.
A crucible [is] for silver and a smelting furnace [is] for gold and [is] testing hearts Yahweh.
4 Mũndũ mwaganu athikagĩrĩria mĩromo ĩrĩa yaragia waganu; nake mũndũ wa maheeni athikagĩrĩria rũrĩmĩ rũrĩa rwaragia maũndũ ma gũthũkia.
An evil-doer [is] paying attention on a lip of wickedness deception [is] giving ear on a tongue of destruction.
5 Mũndũ ũrĩa ũthekagĩrĩra athĩĩni nĩkũmena amenaga Ũrĩa wamombire; mũndũ ũrĩa ũkenagĩra mũtino ndakaaga kũherithio.
[one who] mocks the Poor [person] he reproaches maker his [a person] joyful for calamity not he will go unpunished.
6 Ciana cia ciana nĩ thũmbĩ harĩ andũ arĩa akũrũ, nao aciari nĩo riiri wa ciana ciao.
[are the] crown of Old [people] children of children and [are the] honor of children parents their.
7 Mĩario ya bata ndĩagĩrĩire kanua ka mũndũ mũkĩĩgu, na makĩria mĩario ya maheeni ndĩagĩrĩire mũndũ ũrĩa wathanaga!
Not [is] suitable for a fool a lip of excellence indeed? for for a noble [person] a lip of deception.
8 Ihaki rĩhaana ta ihiga rĩa kũrehe mũnyaka kũrĩ ũrĩa ũhakanaga; kũrĩa guothe athiiaga nĩagaacagĩra.
[is] a stone of Favor the bribe in [the] eyes of owners its to all that he turns he prospers.
9 Mũndũ ũrĩa ũhumbagĩra ihĩtia nĩ wendo acaragia, no ũrĩa ũcookagĩra ũhoro atigithanagia andũ marĩ ũrata mũnene.
[one who] conceals A transgression [is] seeking love and [one who] repeats a matter [is] separating a close friend.
10 Kũrũithio nĩgũkenagia mũndũ ũrĩa ũkũũranaga maũndũ gũkĩra iboko igana harĩ mũndũ mũkĩĩgu.
It goes deep a rebuke in [one who] understands more than striking a fool a hundred [times].
11 Mũndũ mũũru arongooragia o ũremi; nĩ ũndũ ũcio nĩagatũmĩrwo mũnene ũtarĩ tha amũũkĩrĩre.
Only rebellion he seeks an evil [person] and a messenger cruel he will be sent in him.
12 Nĩ kaba gũcemania na nduba ĩtunyĩtwo ciana ciayo gũkĩra gũcemania na mũndũ mũkĩĩgu na ũrimũ wake.
May he meet a bear robbed of cubs a person and may not [he meet] a fool in foolishness his.
13 Mũndũ angĩrĩha wega na ũũru, ũũru ndũkeehera nyũmba-inĩ yake.
[one who] returns Evil for good not (it will depart *Q(k)*) evil from house his.
14 Kwambĩrĩria haaro nĩ ta kũhingũrĩra maaĩ mahingĩrĩrie; nĩ ũndũ ũcio tiganaga na ũhoro ũcio ngarari itaanagĩa.
[is one who] lets out Water [the] beginning of strife and before it has broken out the dispute abandon.
15 Gũtuĩra mũndũ mwaganu atĩ ndehĩtie na gũtuĩra ũrĩa ũtehĩtie atĩ nĩ mwĩhia, maũndũ macio meerĩ nĩ marĩ magigi harĩ Jehova.
[one who] justifies [the] wicked And [one who] condemns as guilty [the] righteous [are] [the] abomination of Yahweh also both of them.
16 Mbeeca nĩ cia bata ũrĩkũ irĩ guoko-inĩ kwa mũndũ mũkĩĩgu, na ndangĩhota kũgũra ũũgĩ, na ndarĩ ngoro ya kwenda gũtaũkĩrwo?
Why? this [is] a price in [the] hand of a fool to acquire wisdom and [is] heart there not.
17 Mũrata wa mũndũ amwendaga hĩndĩ ciothe, nake mũrũ wa nyina na mũndũ aciaragwo nĩ ũndũ wa hĩndĩ ya thĩĩna.
At every time [is] loving the friend and a brother for adversity he is born.
18 Mũndũ ũtooĩ gũkũũrana maũndũ atuĩkaga wa kũrĩha thiirĩ wa mũndũ ũngĩ o na akaiga kĩndũ gĩa kũrũgamĩrĩra thiirĩ wa mũndũ wa itũũra rĩake.
A person lacking of heart [is] striking a palm [is] pledging a pledge before neighbor his.
19 Mũndũ ũrĩa wendete haaro nĩ mehia endete; na mũndũ ũrĩa wakaga kĩhingo kĩraihu na igũrũ eĩtagĩria wanangĩki.
[one who] loves Transgression [is] loving contention [one who] makes high entrance his [is] seeking ruin.
20 Mũndũ ũrĩ ngoro ya ũremi ndagaacagĩra; nake mũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩ rũrĩmĩ rwa kũheenania agũũaga thĩĩna-inĩ.
[a person] twisted of Heart not he finds good and [one who] is perverted in tongue his he falls in trouble.
21 Kũgĩa na mũriũ mũkĩĩgu kũrehaga ihooru; ithe wa mũndũ mũkĩĩgu ndarĩ hĩndĩ akenaga.
[one who] begets A fool to grief of him and not he rejoices [the] father of a fool.
22 Ngoro ngenu nĩ ndawa njega, no roho mũthuthĩku ũngʼaragia mahĩndĩ.
A heart joyful it makes good healing and a spirit stricken it dries up bone[s].
23 Mũndũ mwaganu amũkagĩra ihaki na hitho, nĩguo ogomie ciira wa kĩhooto.
A bribe from [the] bosom a wicked [person] he accepts to turn aside [the] paths of justice.
24 Mũndũ ũkũũranaga maũndũ aikaraga arorete o ũũgĩ, no maitho ma mũndũ mũkĩĩgu morũũraga nginya ituri cia thĩ.
[is] with [the] face of [one who] has understanding Wisdom and [the] eyes of a fool [are] at [the] end of [the] earth.
25 Mwana mũkĩĩgu arehagĩra ithe kĩeha, na marũrũ kũrĩ nyina ũrĩa wamũciarire.
[is] grief To father his a son a fool and bitterness to [the] [one who] bore him.
26 Ti wega kũherithia mũndũ ũtekĩte mahĩtia, kana kũhũũra anene nĩ ũndũ wa ũrũngĩrĩru wao.
Also to impose a fine to righteous [person] not [is] good to strike noble [people] [is] on uprightness.
27 Mũndũ ũrĩ na ũmenyo aragia ciugo athimĩte, nake mũndũ ũrĩ na ũtaũku aikaraga ahooreire.
[one who] restrains Words his [is] knowing knowledge ([a person] noble of *Q(K)*) spirit [is] a person of understanding.
28 O na mũndũ mũkĩĩgu angĩkira nĩonagwo arĩ mũũgĩ, na akoneka arĩ mũtaũku angĩtumia kanua.
Also a fool [who] keeps silent wise he is considered [who] shuts lips his discerning.
