1 Nake Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ,

And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:

2 “Atha andũ a Isiraeli, ũmeere atĩrĩ: ‘Rĩrĩa mũgaatoonya Kaanani-rĩ, bũrũri ũcio mũkaagaĩrwo ũtuĩke igai rĩanyu ũgaakorwo na mĩhaka ĩno:

Command the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, When, ye, are coming into the land of Canaan, this is the land which shall fall unto you, as an inheritance, even the land of Canaan, by the boundaries thereof.

3 “‘Mwena wanyu wa gũthini ũkoima Werũ-inĩ wa Zini kũrigania na mũhaka wa Edomu. Mwena wa irathĩro, mũhaka wanyu wa mwena wa gũthini ũkaambĩrĩria mũthia-inĩ wa Iria rĩa Cumbĩ,

Ye shall therefore have a south corner, from the desert of Zin, on the side of Edom, —so shall ye have a south boundary, from the end of the salt sea, eastward:

4 ũtuĩkanĩirie mwena wa gũthini ũrorete Mwanya wa Akirabimu, ũthiĩte na mbere o nginya Zini, na ũikũrũke na mwena wa gũthini wa Kadeshi-Barinea. Ningĩ ũcooke ũkinye Hazoru-Adari, na uumĩrĩre Azimoni,

and the boundary shall go round for you from the south towards the cliffs of Akrabbim, then cross over towards Zin, and the extension thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, then shall it reach out to Hazar-addar, and cross over towards Azmon;

5 kũrĩa ũkaarigiicũka, ũnyiitane na karũũĩ ka Misiri, na ũrĩkĩrie Iria-inĩ.

then shall the boundary turn round from Azmon towards the ravine of Egypt, —and the extension thereof shall be towards the sea.

6 “‘Mũhaka wanyu wa mwena wa ithũĩro ũgaakorwo ũrĩ hũgũrũrũ cia Iria rĩrĩa Inene. Ũcio nĩguo ũgaatuĩka mũhaka wanyu wa mwena wa ithũĩro.

And, for a west boundary, —ye shall have the great sea, even a boundary, this, shall serve you as west boundary.

7 “‘Naguo mũhaka wanyu wa mwena wa gathigathini uumĩte Iria rĩrĩa Inene ũgaakinya Kĩrĩma-inĩ kĩa Horu,

And, this, shall serve you as a north boundary, —From the great sea, ye shall draw a line for you to Mount Hor:

8 na kuuma Kĩrĩma kĩa Horu ũgaakinya Lebo-Hamathu. Ningĩ mũhaka ũcio ũgaakinya Zedadi,

From Mount Hor, ye shall draw a line to the entering in of Hamath, —and the extension of the boundary shall be towards Zedad:

9 ũthiĩ na mbere nginya Zifironi, na ũgaathirĩra Hazoru-Enani. Ũcio nĩguo ũgaatuĩka mũhaka wanyu wa mwena wa gathigathini.

then shall the boundary reach out towards Ziphron, and the extension thereof, be to Hazar-enan. This, shall serve you as a north, boundary.

10 “‘Na rĩrĩ, mũhaka wanyu wa mwena wa irathĩro, ũkoima Hazoru-Enani ũkinye Shefamu.

Then shall ye draw for yourselves a line, for an east boundary, —from Hazar-enan towards Shepham;

11 Mũhaka ũcio ũgaaikũrũka kuuma Shefamu nginya Ribila, mwena wa irathĩro wa Aini, na ũthiĩ na mbere ũtwaranĩte na hurũrũka cia mwena wa irathĩro wa Iria rĩrĩa rĩa Kinerethu.

and the boundary shall go down from Shepham towards Riblah, on the east of Ain—then shall the boundary go down and strike on the side of the Sea of Chinnereth, eastward:

12 Ningĩ mũhaka ũcio ũikũrũkanie na Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani, ũrĩkĩrie Iria-inĩ rĩa Cumbĩ. “‘Ũcio nĩguo ũgaatuĩka bũrũri wanyu, na mĩhaka yaguo mĩena yothe.’”

then shall the boundary go down towards the Jordan, and the extension thereof be to the salt sea. This shall be your land by the boundaries thereof round about.

13 Musa agĩatha andũ a Isiraeli, akĩmeera atĩrĩ: “Mũkaagaya bũrũri ũcio na ũndũ wa kũũcukĩra mĩtĩ ũtuĩke igai rĩanyu Jehova nĩathanĩte akoiga ũkaaheeo mĩhĩrĩga ĩrĩa kenda na nuthu,

And Moses commanded the sons of Israel saying, —This, is the land, which ye shall inherit by lot, which Yahweh had commanded to be given to the nine tribes and the half tribe.

14 Tondũ nyũmba cia mũhĩrĩga wa Rubeni, na mũhĩrĩga wa Gadi, na nuthu ya mũhĩrĩga wa Manase nĩmarĩkĩtie kwamũkĩra igai rĩao.

For the tribe of the sons of the Reubenites by their ancestral house, and the tribe of the sons of Gad, by their ancestral house, have received, and, the half tribe of Manasseh have received, their inheritance:

15 Mĩhĩrĩga ĩyo yeerĩ na nuthu nĩĩrĩkĩtie kwamũkĩra magai mayo mwena wa irathĩro wa Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani ya Jeriko, kwerekera irathĩro rĩa riũa.”

the two tribes, and the half tribe, have received their inheritance—on this side Jordan near Jericho, eastwards, towards sunrise.

16 Ningĩ Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ,

Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:

17 “Maya nĩmo marĩĩtwa ma andũ arĩa makaamũgayania bũrũri ũcio ũtuĩke igai rĩanyu: nĩ Eleazaru ũrĩa mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai na Joshua mũrũ wa Nuni.

These, are the names of the men who shall receive for you the land, as an inheritance, Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, son of Nun.

18 Na ũthuure mũtongoria ũmwe kuuma kũrĩ o mũhĩrĩga nĩgeetha mateithĩrĩrie kũgayania bũrũri ũcio.

Also, one prince from each tribe, shall ye take to receive the land, as an inheritance.

19 Maya nĩmo marĩĩtwa mao: nĩ Kalebu mũrũ wa Jefune, kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Juda;

These, therefore, are the names of the men, —For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;

20 na Shemueli mũrũ wa Amihudu, kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Simeoni;

And, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Ammihud:

21 na Elidadi mũrũ wa Kisiloni, kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Benjamini;

For the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;

22 na Buki mũrũ wa Jogili, ũrĩa mũtongoria kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Dani;

And, for the tribe of the sons of Dan, a prince—Bukki, son of Jogli:

23 na Hanieli mũrũ wa Efodi, ũrĩa mũtongoria kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Manase mũrũ wa Jusufu;

For the sons of Joseph, For the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a prince, —Hanniel son of Ephod;

24 na Kemueli mũrũ wa Shifitani, ũrĩa mũtongoria kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Efiraimu mũrũ wa Jusufu;

And, for the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a prince, —Kemuel, son of Shiphtan;

25 na Elizafani mũrũ wa Paranaki, ũrĩa mũtongoria kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Zebuluni;

And, for the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a prince, —Elizaphan, son of Parnach;

26 na Palitieli mũrũ wa Azani, ũrĩa mũtongoria kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Isakaru;

And, for the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a prince, —Paltiel son of Azzan;

27 na Ahihudu mũrũ wa Shelomi, ũrĩa mũtongoria kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Asheri;

And, for the tribe of the sons of Asher, a prince, —Ahihud son of Shelomi:

28 na Pedaheli mũrũ wa Amihudu, ũrĩa mũtongoria kuuma mũhĩrĩga wa Nafitali.”

And, for the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a prince, —Pedahel, son of Ammihud.

29 Acio nĩo andũ arĩa Jehova aathanire makaagaĩra andũ a Isiraeli magai mao kũu bũrũri wa Kaanani.

These, are they whom Yahweh hath commanded to receive for the sons of Israel their inheritance, in the land of Canaan.
