Nehemia 11

1 Na rĩrĩ, atongoria a andũ magĩtũũra Jerusalemu, nao andũ acio angĩ magĩcuuka mĩtĩ nĩguo mathuure mũndũ ũmwe harĩ o andũ ikũmi atuĩke wa gũtũũra Jerusalemu, itũũra rĩrĩa itheru, nao acio angĩ kenda megũtigara mathiĩ magatũũre matũũra-inĩ mao.

And the rulers of the people dwelt in Jerusalem, —and, the rest of the people, cast lots, to bring in one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, the holy city, and nine parts in [other] cities.

2 Andũ nĩmagathĩrĩirie andũ arĩa othe meerutĩire gũtũũra Jerusalemu na kwĩyendera.

And the people bestowed a blessing on all the men, who willingly offered themselves to dwell in Jerusalem.

3 Aya nĩo atongoria a bũrũri arĩa maatũũrire Jerusalemu (na rĩrĩ, andũ amwe a Isiraeli, na athĩnjĩri-Ngai, na Alawii, na ndungata cia hekarũ, na njiaro cia ndungata cia Solomoni maatũũraga matũũra-inĩ ma Juda, o mũndũ gĩthaka-inĩ gĩake thĩinĩ wa matũũra mao.

Now, these, are the chiefs of the province, who dwelt in Jerusalem, but, in the cities of Judah, dwelt every man in his possession throughout their cities, Israel, the priests, and the Levites and the Nethinim, and the Sons of the Servants of Solomon.

4 O na andũ angĩ kuuma Juda na Benjamini nĩmatũũraga Jerusalemu): Kuuma njiaro-inĩ cia Juda maarĩ: Athaia mũrũ wa Uzia, mũrũ wa Zekaria, mũrũ wa Amaria, mũrũ wa Shefatia, mũrũ wa Mahalaleli, wa rũciaro rwa Perezu;

And, in Jerusalem, dwelt certain of the sons of Judah and of the sons of Benjamin, —Of the sons of Judah, Athaiah son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mahalalel, of the sons of Perez;

5 na Maaseia mũrũ wa Baruku, mũrũ wa Koli-Hoze, mũrũ wa Hazaia, mũrũ wa Adaia, mũrũ wa Joiaribu, mũrũ wa Zekaria, wa rũciaro rwa Mũshiloni.

and Maaseiah son of Baruch, son of Col-hozeh, son of Hazaiah, son of Adaiah, son of Joiarib, son of Zechariah, son of the Shilonite.

6 Njiaro cia Perezu iria ciatũũraga Jerusalemu, arĩa maarĩ andũ njamba, mũigana wao warĩ andũ 468.

All the sons of Perez who were dwelling in Jerusalem, four hundred and sixty-eight, men of ability.

7 Kuuma njiaro-inĩ cia Benjamini maarĩ: Salu mũrũ wa Meshulamu, mũrũ wa Joedi, mũrũ wa Pedaia, mũrũ wa Kolaia, mũrũ wa Maaseia, mũrũ wa Ithieli, mũrũ wa Jeshaia,

And, these, are the sons of Benjamin, —Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Joed, son of Pedaiah, son of Kolaiah, son of Maaseiah, son of Ithiel, son of Jeshaiah;

8 na arũmĩrĩri ake, Gabai na Salai, othe maarĩ andũ 928.

and, after him, Gabbai, Sallai, —nine hundred and twenty-eight.

9 Joeli mũrũ wa Zikiri nĩwe warĩ mũrũgamĩrĩri wao ũrĩa mũnene, nake Juda mũrũ wa Hasenua nĩwe warũgamĩrĩire Gĩcigo gĩa Keerĩ kĩa itũũra rĩrĩa inene.

And, Joel son of Zichri, was in charge over them, —and, Judah son of Hassenuah, was over the city, as second.

10 Nao athĩnjĩri-Ngai maarĩ: Jedaia; mũrũ wa Joiaribu; Jakini;

Of the priests, Jedaiah son of Joiarib, Jachin;

11 Sheraia mũrũ wa Hilikia, mũrũ wa Meshulamu, mũrũ wa Zadoku, mũrũ wa Meraiothu, mũrũ wa Ahitubu, mũrori wa maũndũ ma nyũmba ya Ngai,

Seraiah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, chief ruler of the house of God;

12 hamwe na athiritũ ao arĩa maarutaga wĩra wa hekarũ, maarĩ andũ 822; Adaia mũrũ wa Jerohamu, mũrũ wa Pelalia, mũrũ wa Amuzi, mũrũ wa Zekaria, mũrũ wa Pashuru, mũrũ wa Malikija,

and their brethren who were doing the work of the house, eight hundred and twenty-two, —and Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pelaliah, son of Amzi, son of Zechariah, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah;

13 hamwe na andũ a thiritũ yake arĩa maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba ciao, maarĩ andũ 242; Amashusai mũrũ wa Azareli, mũrũ wa Ahazai, mũrũ wa Meshilemothu, mũrũ wa Imeri,

and his brethren, ancestral chiefs, two hundred and forty-two, —and Amashsai son of Azarel, son of Ahzai, son of Meshillemoth, son of Immer;

14 na andũ a thiritũ yake arĩa maarĩ njamba, maarĩ andũ 128. Mũtongoria wao mũnene aarĩ Zabidieli mũrũ wa Hagedolimu.

and their brethren, strong men of ability, a hundred and twenty-eight, —and, he who was in charge of them, was Zabdiel, son of Haggedolim.

15 Na kuuma kũrĩ Alawii maarĩ: Shemaia mũrũ wa Hashubu, mũrũ wa Azirikamu, mũrũ wa Hashabia, mũrũ wa Buni;

And, of the Levites, Shemaiah son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, son of Bunni;

16 Shabethai na Jozabadu, arĩa maarĩ atongoria eerĩ a Alawii, na nĩo maaroraga wĩra wa nja wa nyũmba ya Ngai;

and Shabbethai and Jozabad, over the outside business of the house of God, of the chiefs of the Levites;

17 Matania mũrũ wa Mika, mũrũ wa Zabedi, mũrũ wa Asafu, ũrĩa watongoragia mahooya ma gũcookeria Ngai ngaatho; Bakabukia ũrĩa warĩ wa keerĩ harĩ athiritũ ake: na Abada mũrũ wa Shamua, mũrũ wa Galali, mũrũ wa Jeduthuni.

and Mattaniah son of Mica, son of Zabdi, son of Asaph, leader of the praise who giveth thanks, in prayer, and Bakbukiah the second among his brethren, —and Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun.

18 Alawii arĩa maarĩ thĩinĩ wa Itũũra rĩu itheru maarĩ andũ 284.

All the Levites in the holy city, were two hundred and eighty-four.

19 Aikaria a ihingo maarĩ: Akubu, na Talimoni, na andũ a thiritũ yao, arĩa maarangagĩra ihingo, maarĩ andũ 172.

And, the door-keepers—Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren who were keeping watch in the gates, were a hundred and seventy-two.

20 Andũ a Isiraeli acio angĩ, hamwe na athĩnjĩri-Ngai na Alawii, maarĩ matũũra-inĩ mothe ma Juda, o mũndũ gĩthaka-inĩ kĩa maithe mao.

But, the residue of Israel, the priests, the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.

21 Ndungata cia hekarũ ciatũũraga kĩrĩma-inĩ kĩa Ofeli, marũgamĩrĩirwo nĩ Ziha na Gishipa.

Howbeit, the Nethinim, were dwelling in Ophel, —and, Ziha and Gishpa, were over the Nethinim.

22 Mũtongoria mũnene wa Alawii kũu Jerusalemu aarĩ Uzi mũrũ wa Bani, mũrũ wa Hashabia, mũrũ wa Matania, mũrũ wa Mika. Uzi aarĩ ũmwe wa rũciaro rwa Asafu, arĩa maarĩ aini arĩa maarũgamĩrĩire wĩra wa nyũmba ya Ngai.

And, the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem, was Uzzi son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Mica, —of the sons of Asaph the singers, to take lead in the business of the house of God.

23 Aini maarĩ watho-inĩ wa mũthamaki, ũrĩa wamatuagĩra wĩra wao wa o mũthenya.

For, the commandment of the king, was upon them, —as to a fixed provision for the singers, the need of a day upon its day.

24 Pethahia mũrũ wa Meshezabeli, wa rũciaro rwa Zera mũrũ wa Juda, aarĩ mũramati wa mũthamaki maũndũ-inĩ mothe makonainie na andũ.

And, Pethahiah son of Meshezabel, of the sons of Zerah, son of Judah, was at the hand of the king, in every matter pertaining to the people.

25 Ha ũhoro wa tũtũũra na mĩgũnda yatuo-rĩ, andũ amwe a Juda maatũũraga Kiriathu-Ariba na matũũra marĩo marĩa marĩrigiicĩirie, na Diboni na matũũra marĩo, na Jekabizeeli na tũtũũra twarĩo,

And, as for the villages in their fields, some of the sons of Judah, dwelt in Kiriath-arba, and the hamlets thereof, and in Dibon, and the hamlets thereof, and in Jekabzeel, and the villages thereof;

26 na kũu Jeshua, na Molada, na Bethi-Peleti,

and in Jeshua, and in Moladah, and in Beth-pelet;

27 na Hazari-Shuali, na Biri-Shiba na matũũra marĩo;

and in Hazar-shual, and in Beer-sheba, and the hamlets thereof;

28 na Zikilagi, na Mekona na matũũra marĩo,

and in Ziklag, and in Meconah, and in the hamlets thereof,

29 na Eni-Rimoni, na Zora, na Jaramuthu,

and in En-rimmmon, and in Zorah, and in Jarmuth;

30 na Zanoa, na Adulamu na tũtũũra twarĩo, na Lakishi na mĩgũnda ya rĩo, na Azeka na matũũra marĩo. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio maatũũraga kuuma Birishiba o nginya Kĩanda kĩa Hinomu.

Zanoah, Adullam and their villages, Lachish, and the fields thereof, Azekah, and the hamlets thereof, —so they encamped from Beer-sheba, unto the valley of Hinnom.

31 Njiaro cia Benjamini kuuma Geba ciatũũraga Mikimashi, na Aija, na Betheli na matũũra marĩo,

And, the sons of Benjamin, [dwelt] from Geba, to Michmas and Aija, and Bethel, and the hamlets thereof:

32 na kũu Anathothu, na Nobu na Anania,

Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah;

33 na Hazoru, na Rama na Gitaimu,

Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim;

34 na Hadidi, na Zeboimu na Nebalati,

Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat;

35 na Lodi na Ono, na Kĩanda-inĩ kĩa Aturi.

Lod and Ono, the valley of craftsmen.

36 Amwe a ikundi cia Alawii a Juda maatũũrire Benjamini.

Howbeit, of the Levites, certain courses of Judah, pertained unto Benjamin.
