Mika 5
1 Thagathaga mbũtũ ciaku cia mbaara, wee itũũra inene rĩa mbũtũ cia mbaara, nĩgũkorwo matũrigiicĩirie matũũkĩrĩre. Nĩmakaringa mwathi wa Isiraeli rũthĩa-inĩ na rũthanju.
Meanwhile, shalt thou gather together in troops, thou daughter of a troop, siege, hath he laid against us, —with a sceptre, will they smite on the cheek, the judge of Israel!
2 “No rĩrĩ, wee Bethilehemu Efiratha, o na harĩa arĩ we mũnini mũno mĩhĩrĩga-inĩ ya Juda, thĩinĩ waku nĩkuo gũkoima ũrĩa ũgaatuĩka mwathi wa Isiraeli, ũrĩa kĩhumo gĩake nĩ gĩa kuuma tene, kuuma mĩndĩ na mĩndĩ.”
Thou, therefore, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though, little, to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee, shall Mine come forth, to be ruler in Israel, —whose comings forth, have been from of old, from the days of age-past time.
3 Tondũ ũcio, Isiraeli nĩagatiganĩrio nginya ihinda rĩkinye, rĩrĩa ũrĩa ũraarũmwo agaaciara, nao ariũ-a-ithe arĩa angĩ magaacookerera andũ a Isiraeli.
Therefore, will he give them up, until the time when, one who is to bring forth, hath brought forth, —and, the remainder of his brethren, return unto the sons of Israel.
4 Nĩagookĩra arĩithie rũũru rwa mbũri ciake arĩ na hinya wa Jehova, na ũnene wa rĩĩtwa rĩa Jehova Ngai wake. Nao nĩmagatũũra marĩ agitĩre, nĩgũkorwo hĩndĩ ĩyo ũnene wake ũgaakinya o nginya ituri ciothe cia thĩ.
Then shall he stand, and tend his flock in the strength of Yahweh, In the excellency of the name of Yahweh his God, have they endured, —For, now, shall he be great unto the ends of the earth;
5 Nake nĩagatuĩka thayũ wao. Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Ashuri makaahithũkĩra bũrũri witũ, na matuĩkanĩrie ciĩhitho ciitũ nũmu, nĩtũkamaarahũrĩra arĩithi mũgwanja, o na anene anana mamokĩrĩre.
So shall this one be Prosperity. As for Assyria—when he shall enter our land, and when he shall tread down in our palaces, then will we raise up against him, seven shepherds, and eight princes of mankind.
6 Nĩmagaatha bũrũri wa Ashuri na rũhiũ rwa njora; maathe bũrũri wa Nimurodi na hiũ cia njora icomoretwo. Nĩagatũhonokia kuuma kũrĩ Aashuri hĩndĩ ĩrĩa magaatharĩkĩra bũrũri witũ na matuĩkanĩirie mĩhaka-inĩ iitũ.
Then shall they shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof, —So shall he deliver from Assyria, when he shall enter our land, and when he shall tread down within our bounds.
7 Matigari ma Jakubu magaatuĩka ta ime riumĩte harĩ Jehova gatagatĩ-inĩ ka ndũrĩrĩ nyingĩ, o na ta mbura ya rũthuthuũ yurĩte nyeki-inĩ, ĩrĩa ĩtarehagwo nĩ mũndũ kana ĩkoirio nĩ andũ.
And, the remnant of Jacob, shall be, in the midst of many peoples, as dew from Yahweh, as myriad drops on plants, —which tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of Adam.
8 Matigari ma Jakubu magaakoragwo gatagatĩ ka ndũrĩrĩ, o gatagatĩ ka ndũrĩrĩ nyingĩ, ta mũrũũthi ũrĩ thĩinĩ wa nyamũ cia mũtitũ, na ta kĩana kĩa mũrũũthi kĩrĩ thĩinĩ wa ndũũru cia ngʼondu, kĩrĩa gĩthiiaga gĩgĩcitihangagia na gĩgĩcitambuuraga na gũtirĩ mũndũ ũngĩcihonokia.
And, the remnant of Jacob, shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the jungle, as a young lion among flocks of sheep, —who, if he passeth by, both treadeth down—and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
9 Guoko gwaku nĩgũkambarario na igũrũ kuonanie ũhootani harĩ thũ ciaku, na amuku aku othe nĩmakaniinwo.
Let thy hand be uplifted against thine adversaries, —and, all thine enemies, shall be cut off.
10 Jehova ekuuga atĩrĩ, “Mũthenya ũcio-rĩ, “nĩngananga mbarathi ciaku ikweherere biũ, nacio ngaari ciaku cia ita ndĩcitharie.
And it shall come to pass, in that day, Declareth Yahweh, That I will cut off thy horses out of thy midst, —and will destroy thy chariots;
11 Nĩngananga matũũra marĩa manene ma bũrũri wanyu, na tharũrie ciĩhitho iria nũmu cianyu ciothe.
And will cut off the cities of thy land, —and will pull down all thy fortresses;
12 Nĩngananga ũgo wanyu, na mũtigacooka kũragũra rĩngĩ.
And will cut off incantations, out of thy hand, —and, users of hidden arts, shalt thou not have;
13 Nĩngananga mĩhianano yanyu ya gwacũhio, na nyanange mahiga manyu marĩa maamũre mũrĩ namo; mũtigacooka kũinamĩrĩra wĩra wa moko manyu rĩngĩ.
And I will cut off thine images and thy pillars out of thy midst, —and thou shalt not bow thyself down, any more, to the work of thine own hands;
14 Itugĩ cia Ashera iria mũrĩ nacio nĩngacimunya na momore matũũra manyu manene.
And I will uproot thy Sacred Stems out of thy midst, —and will destroy thy cities:
15 Nĩngerĩhĩria ndĩ na marakara na mangʼũrĩ kũrĩ ndũrĩrĩ iria itanjathĩkagĩra.”
Then will I execute, with anger and with indignation, vengeance upon the nations, —of which they have not heard.
