Mathayo 27

Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Yeshua to put him to death:

and they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him to Pilate, the governor.

He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary, and departed. He went away and hanged himself.

The chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, "It's not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood."
7 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio makĩiguithania mahũthĩre mbeeca icio na kũgũra gĩthaka kĩrĩa kĩa mũũmbi nyũngũ gĩtuĩke gĩa gũthikagwo ageni.
They took counsel, and bought the potter's field with them, to bury strangers in.
8 Kĩu nĩkĩo gĩtũmaga gĩthaka kĩu gĩĩtwo Gĩthaka gĩa Thakame nginya ũmũthĩ.
Therefore that field was called "The Field of Blood" to this day.
9 Hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩguo ũhoro ũrĩa waarĩtio nĩ Jeremia ũrĩa Mũnabii wahingire, rĩrĩa oigire atĩrĩ: “Nao nĩmoire icunjĩ icio mĩrongo ĩtatũ cia betha, thogora ũrĩa andũ a Isiraeli maatuĩte wa kũmũgũra,
Then that which was spoken through Aramiyah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, "They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the people of Israyel priced,

Now Yeshua stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Yeshua said to him, "You say so."

When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

Then Pilate said to him, "Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?"

He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner, whom they desired.

They had then a notable prisoner, called Bar-Aba.
17 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, hĩndĩ ĩrĩa kĩrĩndĩ kĩagomanire, Pilato agĩkĩũria atĩrĩ, “Nũũ mũkwenda ndĩmuohorere; nĩ Baraba, kana nĩ Jesũ ũrĩa wĩtagwo Kristũ?”
When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Bar-Aba, or Yeshua, who is called Meshikha?"

For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him."
20 No rĩrĩ, athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa anene na athuuri makĩringĩrĩria kĩrĩndĩ gĩĩtie Baraba, nake Jesũ ooragwo.
Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Bar-Aba, and destroy Yeshua.
21 Barũthi ũcio akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Andũ aya eerĩ nĩ ũrĩkũ mũkwenda ndĩmuohorere?” Nao makiuga atĩrĩ, “Tũkwenda Baraba.”
But the governor answered them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Bar-Aba."

Pilate said to them, "What then should I do with Yeshua, who is called Meshikha?" They all said, "Let him be crucified."

But he said, "Why? What evil has he done?" But they shouted all the louder, saying, "Let him be crucified."

So Pilate, seeing that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, took water and he washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man. You see to it."

All the people answered, "May his blood be on us, and on our children."

Then he released to them Bar-Aba, but Yeshua he flogged and delivered to be crucified.

Then the governor's soldiers took Yeshua into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.

They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.

They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, "Greetings, King of the Jews."

They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.

When they had mocked him, they took the robe off of him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.
32 Na hĩndĩ ĩrĩa moimagaraga-rĩ, magĩcemania na mũndũ woimĩte Kurene, wetagwo Simoni, nacio thigari cikĩmũkuuithia mũtharaba ũcio na hinya.
As they came out, they found a man of Qurinaya, Shimon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.
33 Magĩthiĩ, magĩkinya handũ heetagwo Gologotha (ũguo nĩ kuuga Handũ hahaana ta Ihĩndĩ rĩa Mũtwe).
They came to a place called "Gagulta," that is to say, "The place of a skull."
34 Nacio cikĩhe Jesũ ndibei anyue, ĩtukanĩtio na kĩndũ kĩrũrũ ta maaĩ ma nyongo; no aamĩcama akĩrega kũmĩnyua.
They gave him wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.
35 Ciarĩkia kũmwamba mũtĩ-igũrũ, cikĩgayana nguo ciake na njĩra ya gũcicuukĩra mĩtĩ.
When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among themselves, casting a lot, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: 'They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast a lot.'
36 Nacio cigĩikara thĩ hau, cikĩmũrangĩra.
And they sat and watched him there.
37 Na hau igũrũ rĩa mũtwe wake, nĩhandĩkĩtwo maũndũ marĩa aathitangĩirwo, atĩrĩ: ŨYŨ NĨWE JESŨ, MŨTHAMAKI WA AYAHUDI.
They set up over his head the accusation against him written, "THIS IS YESHUA, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
38 Na rĩrĩ, atunyani eerĩ nĩmambirwo mĩtĩ-igũrũ hamwe nake, ũmwe mwena wake wa ũrĩo, na ũcio ũngĩ mwena wake wa ũmotho.
Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.
39 Nao andũ arĩa maahĩtũkagĩra hau makamũrumaga, makĩinagia mĩtwe yao,
Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,
40 makiugaga atĩrĩ, “Wee ũngĩratharirie hekarũ na ũcooke ũmĩake na mĩthenya ĩtatũ-rĩ, kĩĩhonokie! Harũrũka uume mũtharaba-inĩ, aakorwo wee nĩwe Mũrũ wa Ngai!”
and saying, "You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross."
41 O ũndũ ũmwe athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa anene, na arutani a watho, na athuuri o nao makĩmũnyũrũria.
Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, and the elders, said,
42 Makiuga atĩrĩ, “Nĩarahonokagia andũ arĩa angĩ, no ndangĩhota kwĩhonokia we mwene! Nĩwe Mũthamaki wa Isiraeli! Nĩakiume rĩu mũtharaba-inĩ, na ithuĩ nĩtũkũmwĩtĩkia.
"He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israyel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.
43 Nĩehokete Ngai, nĩakĩmũhonokie rĩu aakorwo nĩamwendete, nĩgũkorwo oigire atĩrĩ, ‘Niĩ ndĩ Mũrũ wa Ngai.’”
He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"
44 O na atunyani arĩa maambanĩirio hamwe nake o nao makĩmũruma.
The robbers also who were crucified with him insulted him in the same way.
45 Na rĩrĩ, kuuma thaa thita cia mũthenya nginya thaa kenda bũrũri wothe ũkĩgĩa nduma.
Now from noon until three in the afternoon there was darkness over all the land.

Then at about three in the afternoon Yeshua called out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema shabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, "This man is calling Eliya."

Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.
49 Arĩa angĩ nao makiuga atĩrĩ, “Tiganai nake. Nĩtũkuona kana Elija nĩegũũka kũmũhonokia.”
The rest said, "Let him be. Let us see whether Eliya comes to save him."
50 Nake Jesũ akĩgũthũka rĩngĩ na mũgambo mũnene, agĩtuĩkana.
And Yeshua cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.
51 Na rĩrĩ, ihinda o rĩu gĩtambaya kĩa hekarũ gĩgĩatũkana icunjĩ igĩrĩ kuuma igũrũ nginya thĩ. Nayo thĩ ĩgĩthingitha, nacio ndwaro cia mahiga igĩatũkana.
And look, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.
52 Mbĩrĩra nacio ikĩhingũka, nao andũ aingĩ arĩa atheru arĩa maarĩkĩtie gũkua makĩriũka,
The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
53 makiuma thĩinĩ wa mbĩrĩra. Na thuutha wa kũriũka kwa Jesũ, magĩthiĩ itũũra rĩu inene itheru, na makiumĩrĩra andũ aingĩ.
and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
54 Rĩrĩa mũnene-wa-thigari-igana na arĩa maarĩ nake makĩrangĩra Jesũ moonire gĩthingithia na maũndũ mothe marĩa meekĩkire-rĩ, makĩnyiitwo nĩ guoya, makĩanĩrĩra, makiuga atĩrĩ, “Ti-itherũ mũndũ ũyũ oima Mũrũ wa Ngai!”
Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Yeshua, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."

Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Yeshua from Galila, serving him.

When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathea, named Yauseph, who himself was also Yeshua's disciple came.
58 Nake agĩthiĩ kũrĩ Pilato, na akĩhooya aheo mwĩrĩ wa Jesũ, nake Pilato agĩathana anengerwo mwĩrĩ ũcio.
This man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Yeshua. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given up.

Yauseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

and placed it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.

Maryam Magdelaitha was there, and the other Maryam, sitting opposite the tomb.

Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,

Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He is risen from the dead;' and the last deception will be worse than the first."

Pilate said to them, "You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can."

So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.
