< Mathayo 26 >
1 Rĩrĩa Jesũ aarĩkirie kuuga maũndũ macio mothe-rĩ, akĩĩra arutwo ake atĩrĩ,
And it came to pass, when Yahushua had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
2 “O ta ũrĩa mũũĩ, Gĩathĩ kĩa Bathaka gĩtigairie matukũ meerĩ gĩkinye, nake Mũrũ wa Mũndũ nĩakaneanwo nĩgeetha aambwo mũtĩ-igũrũ.”
Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
3 Hĩndĩ ĩyo athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa anene na athuuri a kĩrĩndĩ makĩgomana kwa mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai ũrĩa mũnene, wetagwo Kaiafa,
Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
And consulted that they might take Yahushua by subtilty, and kill him.
5 No makiuga atĩrĩ, “Tũtingĩmũnyiita hĩndĩ ya Gĩathĩ, nĩguo andũ matikarute haaro.”
But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
Now when Yahushua was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8 Rĩrĩa arutwo moonire ũguo, makĩrakara, makĩũrania atĩrĩ, “Ũitangi ũyũ nĩ wakĩ?
But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9 Maguta macio manungi wega nĩmangĩendio goro na mbeeca icio iheo athĩĩni.”
For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10 Nake Jesũ aamenya ũguo, akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Mũrathĩĩnia mũndũ-wa-nja ũyũ nĩkĩ? We nĩanjĩka ũndũ mwega.
When Yahushua understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
11 Arĩa athĩĩni mũrĩkoragwo nao hĩndĩ ciothe, no niĩ-rĩ, mũtirĩkoragwo na niĩ hĩndĩ ciothe.
For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
12 Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa aitĩrĩirie mwĩrĩ wakwa maguta macio manungi wega, eekire ũguo nĩgeetha aathagathage ũrĩa ngaathikwo.
For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13 Ngũmwĩra atĩrĩ na ma, kũrĩa guothe Ũhoro-ũyũ-Mwega ũkaahunjio thĩinĩ wa thĩ yothe-rĩ, ũndũ ũcio eeka nĩũkeeragwo andũ nĩgeetha aririkanagwo.”
Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
14 Hĩndĩ ĩyo ũmwe wa acio ikũmi na eerĩ, ũrĩa wetagwo Judasi Mũisikariota, agĩthiĩ kũrĩ athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa anene,
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15 akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Nĩ kĩĩ mũkũũhe ingĩmũneana kũrĩ inyuĩ?” Nao makĩmũtarĩra icunjĩ cia betha mĩrongo ĩtatũ, makĩmũnengera.
And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 Kuuma hĩndĩ ĩyo Judasi akĩambĩrĩria gũcaria mweke wa kũmũneana.
And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17 Mũthenya wa mbere wa kwambĩrĩria kũrĩa Mĩgate ĩrĩa ĩtarĩ Mĩĩkĩre Ndawa ya Kũimbia-rĩ, arutwo magĩthiĩ kũrĩ Jesũ makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Ũkwenda tũkahaarĩrie irio cia Bathaka kũ?”
Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Yahushua, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18 Nake akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Thiĩi itũũra-inĩ kũrĩ mũndũ mũna mũmwĩre atĩrĩ, ‘Mũrutani oiga atĩrĩ: Ihinda rĩakwa rĩrĩa rĩtuĩtwo rĩrĩ hakuhĩ. Ngũrĩĩra irio cia Bathaka nyũmba gwaku tũrĩ na arutwo akwa.’”
And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Rabbi saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
19 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio arutwo magĩĩka o ũrĩa Jesũ aamathĩte, na makĩhaarĩria irio cia Bathaka.
And the disciples did as Yahushua had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Nao makĩnyiitwo nĩ kĩeha mũno, makĩambĩrĩria kũmũũria o mũndũ atĩrĩ, “Mwathani, ti-itherũ nĩ niĩ?”
And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, My master, is it I?
23 Jesũ akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Ũrĩa waikanĩria guoko na niĩ mbakũri-inĩ nĩwe ũrĩngunyanĩra.
And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
24 Mũrũ wa Mũndũ nĩegũthiĩ o ta ũrĩa ũhoro wake wandĩkĩtwo. No mũndũ ũrĩa ũgũkunyanĩra Mũrũ wa Mũndũ kaĩ arĩ na haaro-ĩ! Nĩ kaba mũndũ ũcio atangĩaciarirwo.”
The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
25 Hĩndĩ ĩyo Judasi, ũrĩa mũmũkunyanĩri, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Rabii, ti-itherũ nĩ niĩ?” Nake Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Ĩĩ, nĩwe.”
Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Rabbi, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
26 Na rĩrĩa maarĩĩaga, Jesũ akĩoya mũgate, agĩcookia ngaatho, akĩwenyũranga, akĩhe arutwo ake, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Oyai mũrĩe; ũyũ nĩ mwĩrĩ wakwa.”
And as they were eating, Yahushua took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 Agĩcooka akĩoya gĩkombe, agĩcookia ngaatho, akĩmanengera, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Nyuanĩrai inyuothe.
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 Ngũmwĩra atĩrĩ, ndikũnyua rĩngĩ ndibei ya maciaro ma mũthabibũ kuuma rĩu nginya mũthenya ũrĩa ngaamĩnyuanĩra na inyuĩ ĩrĩ njerũ ũthamaki-inĩ wa Baba.”
But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
30 Na maarĩkia kũina rwĩmbo-rĩ, makiumagara magĩthiĩ Kĩrĩma-inĩ kĩa Mĩtamaiyũ.
And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
31 Ningĩ Jesũ agĩcooka akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Ũtukũ wa ũmũthĩ inyuothe nĩmũrĩĩndirika nĩgũkorwo nĩ kwandĩkĩtwo atĩrĩ: “‘Nĩngaringa mũrĩithi, nacio ngʼondu cia rũũru ihurunjũke.’
Then saith Yahushua unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
32 No ndariũkio-rĩ, nĩngamũtongoria gũthiĩ Galili.”
But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 No Petero akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “O na arĩa angĩ othe mangĩgũtirika, niĩ ndigagũtirika.”
Kepha answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.
Yahushua said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
35 No Petero akiuga atĩrĩ, “O na angĩkorwo nĩgũkua ndĩkuanĩra nawe, niĩ ndingĩgũkaana.” Nao arutwo arĩa angĩ othe makiuga o ũguo.
Kepha said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
36 Ningĩ Jesũ agĩcooka agĩthiĩ na arutwo ake handũ heetagwo Gethisemane, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Ikarai haha, na niĩ thiĩ haarĩa ngahooe.”
Then cometh Yahushua with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 Agĩthiĩ na Petero, na ariũ arĩa eerĩ a Zebedi, nake akĩambĩrĩria kũigua kĩeha na gũthĩĩnĩka ngoro.
And he took with him Kepha and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Agĩcooka akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Ngoro yakwa ĩrĩ na kĩeha mũno, o hakuhĩ gũkua. Ikarai haha mwĩiguĩte hamwe na niĩ.”
Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 Agĩthiiathiia, agĩturumithia ũthiũ thĩ, akĩhooya, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Baba, kũngĩhoteka-rĩ, njehereria gĩkombe gĩkĩ. No ti ũrĩa niĩ ngwenda, no nĩ ũrĩa wee ũkwenda.”
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 Hĩndĩ ĩyo agĩcooka kũrĩ arutwo ake, agĩkora makomete, akĩũria Petero atĩrĩ, “Mũtingĩhota gũikara ithaa rĩmwe mwĩiguĩte hamwe na niĩ?
And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Kepha, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Mwĩhũgei na mũhooe nĩguo mũtikagwe magerio-inĩ. Ngoro nĩyenda, no mwĩrĩ ndũrĩ na hinya.”
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 Jesũ agĩthiĩ riita rĩa keerĩ, akĩhooya, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Baba, angĩkorwo gũtingĩhoteka njehererio gĩkombe gĩkĩ itakĩnyuĩrĩire-rĩ, wendi waku ũrohingio.”
He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
43 Aacooka rĩngĩ akĩmakora makomete, tondũ nĩmahĩtĩtwo nĩ toro.
And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio akĩmatiga, agĩthiĩ, akĩhooya rĩngĩ riita rĩa gatatũ, akiuga ciugo o ro icio.
And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Ũkĩrai, tũthiĩ! Ũrĩa ũkũngunyanĩra nĩarooka!”
Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Na rĩrĩ, ũcio wamũkunyanĩire nĩamaheete kĩmenyithia gĩkĩ: “Ũrĩa ndĩmumunya, ũcio nĩwe, mũnyiitei.”
Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49 Nake Judasi agĩthiĩ harĩ Jesũ o rĩmwe, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Rabii, ũrĩ mũhoro!” na akĩmũmumunya.
And forthwith he came to Yahushua, and said, Greetings, Rabbi; and kissed him.
50 Nake Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Mũrata wakwa, ĩka ũrĩa ũũkire gwĩka.” Nao andũ acio makĩmũguthũkĩra, makĩmũnyiita.
And Yahushua said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Yahushua, and took him.
And, behold, one of them which were with Yahushua stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
52 Nake Jesũ akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Cookia rũhiũ rwaku njora nĩgũkorwo arĩa othe macomoraga rũhiũ makaaniinwo na rũhiũ.
Then said Yahushua unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 No rĩrĩ, Maandĩko mangĩkĩhinga atĩa marĩa moigĩte atĩ ũndũ ũyũ no nginya ũhinge na njĩra ĩno?”
But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55 Hĩndĩ ĩyo Jesũ akĩũria kĩrĩndĩ kĩu atĩrĩ, “Kaĩ ndĩ mũtongoria wa akararia a watho, atĩ nĩkĩo muoka mũũnyiite mũrĩ na hiũ cia njora na njũgũma? O mũthenya ndĩrakoragwo hekarũ-inĩ ngĩrutana, na mũtingĩĩnyiita.
In that same hour said Yahushua to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
56 No ũndũ ũyũ wothe wĩkĩkĩĩte nĩguo ũhoro ũrĩa waandĩkĩtwo nĩ anabii ũhinge.” Nao arutwo othe makĩmũtiganĩria, makĩũra.
But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
57 Nao acio maanyiitire Jesũ makĩmũtwara gwa Kaiafa, mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai ũrĩa mũnene, kũrĩa arutani a watho na athuuri moonganĩte.
And they that had laid hold on Yahushua led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 Nowe Petero akĩmũrũmĩrĩra arĩ haraaya, o nginya agĩkinya nja ya kwa mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai ũcio mũnene. Agĩtoonya agĩikarania na arangĩri nĩguo amenye ũrĩa ũhoro ũgũthiĩ.
But Kepha followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Yahushua, to put him to death;
60 No makĩaga ũira ta ũcio, o na gũkorwo andũ aingĩ nĩmarutĩte ũira wa maheeni. Thuutha-inĩ andũ eerĩ makĩrũgama,
But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of Elohim, and to build it in three days.
62 Ningĩ mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai ũrĩa mũnene akĩrũgama, akĩũria Jesũ atĩrĩ, “Kaĩ wee ũtarĩ na ũndũ ũgũtũcookeria? Nĩ ũhoro ũrĩkũ ũyũ ũrathitangĩrwo?”
And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
63 No Jesũ agĩkira ki. Mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai ũrĩa mũnene akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ndakwĩhĩtithia na Ngai ũrĩa wĩ muoyo: Twĩre kana wee nĩwe Kristũ, Mũrũ wa Ngai.”
But Yahushua held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living Elohim, that thou tell us whether thou be the Messiah, the Son of the Almighty.
64 Nake Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Ĩĩ, wee nĩwoiga, no ngũmwĩra atĩrĩ, inyuĩ inyuothe nĩmũkona Mũrũ wa Mũndũ aikarĩte guoko-inĩ kwa ũrĩo kwa Ũrĩa-ũrĩ-Hinya, agĩũka arĩ igũrũ rĩa matu.”
Yahushua saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 Hĩndĩ ĩyo mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai ũcio mũnene agĩtembũranga nguo ciake, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Nĩaruma Ngai! Tũgũkĩbatario nĩ aira angĩ aakĩ? Atĩrĩrĩ, inyuĩ nĩmweiguĩra akĩruma Ngai.
Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
66 Mũgwĩciiria atĩa?” Magĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Aagĩrĩirwo nĩ kũũragwo.”
What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
67 Magĩcooka makĩmũtuĩra mata ũthiũ, na makĩmũhũũra na ngundi. Angĩ makĩmũhũũra na hĩ,
Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
68 makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Wee Kristũ, tũrathĩre ũhoro ũtwĩre, nũũ wakũgũtha!”
Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Messiah, Who is he that smote thee?
69 Na rĩrĩ, Petero aikarĩte nja, nake mũirĩtu warĩ ndungata akĩmũkora, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “O nawe uuma hamwe na Jesũ ũcio wa Galili.”
Now Kepha sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Yahushua of Galilee.
70 Nowe agĩkaana ũhoro ũcio mbere yao othe, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndiũĩ ũrĩa ũroiga.”
But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
71 Ningĩ akiumagara, agĩthiĩ kĩhingo-inĩ, harĩa mũirĩtu ũngĩ aamuonire, akĩĩra andũ arĩa maarĩ hau atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ ũyũ moima na Jesũ wa Nazarethi.”
And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Yahushua of Nazareth.
72 Agĩkaana ũhoro ũcio o rĩngĩ, na akĩĩhĩta, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndiũĩ mũndũ ũcio!”
And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
73 Thuutha wa kahinda kanini, arĩa maarũgamĩte hau magĩthiĩ harĩ Petero, makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ti-itherũ wee ũrĩ ũmwe wao, tondũ mwarĩrie waku nĩũrakumbũra.”
And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Kepha, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
74 Nake akĩambĩrĩria kwĩhĩta, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Niĩ mũndũ ũcio ndimũũĩ!” Kahinda o kau ngũkũ ĩgĩkũga.
Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75 Nake Petero akĩririkana ũhoro ũrĩa Jesũ aamwĩrĩte atĩrĩ, “Ngũkũ ĩtanakũga, ũrĩkorwo ũngaanĩte maita matatũ.” Akiuma nja, akĩrĩra mũno.
And Kepha remembered the word of Yahushua, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
