< Mathayo 16 >
1 Na rĩrĩ, Afarisai na Asadukai magĩũka kũrĩ Jesũ, makĩmũgeria na kũmwĩra amaringĩre kĩama kiumĩte igũrũ makĩone.
And having approached the Pharisees and Sadducees, testing they asked Him a sign out of heaven to show them.
2 Nake akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa gwatuka, muugaga atĩrĩ, ‘Kaĩ nĩgũkaara-ĩ, tondũ igũrũ nĩ gũtune’.
And answering He said to them; Evening having come you say; Fair weather, is red for the sky.
3 Ningĩ rũciinĩ muugaga atĩrĩ, ‘Ũmũthĩ nĩgũkũgĩa kĩhuhũkanio, tondũ igũrũ nĩ gũtune na gũgathimba.’ Nĩmũũĩ gũtaũra ũrĩa igũrũ rĩtariĩ, no mũtingĩhota gũtaũra imenyithia cia mahinda maya tũrĩ.
And in the morning; Today a storm, is red for being overcast the sky. (hypocrites *K*) The indeed appearance of the sky you know [how] to discern, however the signs of the times not you are able?
4 Rũciaro rũrũ rwaganu na rwa ũtharia rũũragia rũringĩrwo kĩama, no gũtirĩ kĩama rũkũringĩrwo tiga kĩama kĩrĩa kĩa Jona.” Nake Jesũ akĩmatiga, agĩĩthiĩra.
A generation evil and adulterous a sign seeks; and a sign not will be given to it only except the sign of Jonah (prophet. *K*) And having left them He went away.
5 Rĩrĩa maaringire iria, arutwo ake magĩkorwo nĩmariganĩirwo nĩgũkuua mĩgate.
And having come the disciples (of him *k*) to the other side they forgot bread to take.
And Jesus said to them; do watch and do beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
7 Nao makĩaranĩria, makiuga atĩrĩ, “Hihi nĩ tondũ tũtinoka na mĩgate.”
And they were reasoning among themselves saying Because bread not we took.
8 Nake Jesũ aamenya ũrĩa meeranaga, akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Inyuĩ a wĩtĩkio mũnini, nĩ kĩĩ kĩratũma mwaranĩrie ũhoro wa kwaga mĩgate?
Having known [this] however Jesus said (to them: *k*) Why reason you among yourselves, O [you] of little faith, because bread not (you take? *N(K)O*)
9 Kaĩ mũtarĩ mwataũkĩrwo? Mũtingĩririkana mĩgate ĩtano ĩrĩa yarĩirwo nĩ andũ ngiri ithano, na nĩ ciondo ciigana muonganirie?
Not yet do you understand nor remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many hand-baskets you gathered?
10 Kana mĩgate mũgwanja ĩrĩa yarĩirwo nĩ andũ ngiri inya, na nĩ ciondo ciigana muonganirie?
Nor [remember] the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you gathered?
How not understand you that not concerning (loaves *N(k)O*) I spoke to you? (do beware *N(k)O*) (also *no*) of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees!
Then they understood that not He said to beware of the leaven (of the loaves *N(k)O*) but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
13 Na rĩrĩa Jesũ aakinyire rũgongo rwa Kaisarea-Filipi, nĩoririe arutwo ake atĩrĩ, “Andũ moigaga Mũrũ wa Mũndũ nũũ?”
Having come then Jesus into the district of Caesarea Philippi He was questioning the disciples of Him saying; Whom (Me *k*) do pronounce men to be the Son of man?
14 Nao makĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Amwe moigaga atĩ nĩwe Johana Mũbatithania; angĩ makoiga nĩwe Elija, o na angĩ makoiga nĩwe Jeremia, kana ũmwe wa anabii.”
And they said: Some indeed, John the Baptist, others however, Elijah, others however, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.
15 Nake akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Inyuĩ na inyuĩ muugaga atĩa? Muugaga niĩ nĩ niĩ ũ?”
He says to them; You yourselves but whom Me do you pronounce to be?
16 Simoni Petero akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Wee nĩwe Kristũ, Mũrũ wa Ngai ũrĩa wĩ muoyo.”
Answering now Simon Peter said; You yourself are the Christ the Son of God the living.
17 Nake Jesũ akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Kũrathimwo-rĩ, nĩwe Simoni mũrũ wa Jona, nĩgũkorwo ndũguũrĩirio ũndũ ũyũ nĩ mũndũ, no nĩ Baba ũrĩa ũrĩ igũrũ.
(and *k*) Answering (now *no*) Jesus said to him; Blessed are you, Simon Barjona! For flesh and blood not revealed [it] to you but the Father of Mine who [is] in the heavens.
18 Na niĩ ngũkwĩra atĩrĩ, wee nĩwe Petero, na igũrũ rĩa ihiga rĩrĩ nĩngaka kanitha wakwa, nacio ihingo cia kwa ngoma itikaũtooria. (Hadēs )
I myself also I myself also now to you say that you yourself are Peter and on this the rock I will build My church, and [the] gates of hades not will prevail against it. (Hadēs )
19 Nĩngakũnengera cabi cia ũthamaki wa igũrũ; na kĩrĩa gĩothe ũkooha gũkũ thĩ nĩgĩkoohwo igũrũ, na kĩrĩa gĩothe ũkoohora gũkũ thĩ, nĩgĩkoohorwo igũrũ.”
(and *ko*) I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, and whatever (if *NK(o)*) you shall bind on the earth, will be bound in the heavens, and whatever (maybe *NK(o)*) you shall loose on the earth, will be loosed in the heavens.
20 Agĩcooka agĩkaania arutwo ake matikeere mũndũ o na ũrĩkũ atĩ we nĩwe Kristũ.
Then (he ordered *NK(O)*) the disciples (of him *k*) that to no one they may say that He himself is (Jesus *k*) the Christ.
21 Kuuma hĩndĩ ĩyo Jesũ akĩambĩrĩria gũtaarĩria arutwo ake atĩ no nginya athiĩ Jerusalemu, na athĩĩnio mũno nĩ athuuri, na athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa anene, na arutani a watho, na atĩ no nginya ooragwo, na thuutha wa mĩthenya ĩtatũ ariũke.
From that time began Jesus (Christ *O*) to show to the disciples of Him that it is necessary for Him to Jerusalem to go away and many things to suffer from the elders and chief priests and scribes and to be killed and on the third day to be raised.
22 Nake Petero akĩmũtwara keheri-inĩ, akĩmũkaania, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Mwathani, kũroaga gũtuĩka ũguo! Ũndũ ũcio ndũkanagũkore!”
And having taken aside Him Peter began to rebuke Him saying; Far be it from You, Lord; certainly not will be to You this.
23 Nake Jesũ akĩĩhũgũrĩra Petero, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Cooka thuutha wakwa, Shaitani! Wee wĩ mũhĩnga harĩ niĩ; wee ndwĩciiragia maũndũ moimĩte kũrĩ Ngai, tiga maũndũ moimĩte kũrĩ andũ.”
And having turned He said to Peter; do go behind Me Satan! A stumbling block you are (to me, *N(k)O*) For not your thoughts are of those of God but [of] the [things] of men.
24 Hĩndĩ ĩyo Jesũ akĩĩra arutwo ake atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ o wothe ũngĩenda kũnũmĩrĩra, no nginya eerege we mwene, oe mũtharaba wake aanũmĩrĩre.
Then Jesus said to the disciples of Him; If anyone desires after Me to come, he should deny himself and he should take up the cross of him and he should follow Me.
25 Nĩgũkorwo mũndũ ũrĩa wothe wendaga kũhonokia muoyo wake nĩakoorwo nĩguo; no ũrĩa wothe ũkoorwo nĩ muoyo wake nĩ ũndũ wakwa nĩakaũhonokia.
Who[ever] for (maybe *N(k)O*) shall desire the life of him to save, will lose it; who[ever] however maybe shall lose the life of him on account of Me, will find it.
26 Nĩ ũndũ-rĩ, mũndũ angĩĩguna nakĩ o na angĩĩgwatĩra thĩ yothe, na orwo nĩ muoyo wake? Kana nĩ kĩĩ mũndũ angĩkũũrania muoyo wake nakĩo?
What for (will it be profitable *N(k)O*) [for] a man, if the world whole he shall gain, but the soul of him shall lose? Or what will give a man [as] an exchange for the soul of him?
Is about for the Son of the man to come in the glory of the Father of Him with the angels of Him and then He will give to each according to the deeds of him.
Amen I say to you (that *no*) there are some of those here (already standing *NK(o)*) who certainly not shall taste of death until when they may have seen the Son of Man coming in the kingdom of Him.
