< Mathayo 15 >
1 Na rĩrĩ, thuutha ũcio Afarisai amwe na arutani a watho magĩũka kũrĩ Jesũ moimĩte Jerusalemu, makĩmũũria atĩrĩ,
Then they come to Jesus from Jerusalem—scribes and Pharisees—saying,
2 “Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmaga arutwo aku mathũkie kĩrĩra gĩa athuuri? Matiĩthambaga moko rĩrĩa mekũrĩa irio!”
“Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they may eat bread.”
3 Nake Jesũ akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Na inyuĩ mũthũkagia watho wa Ngai nĩ ũndũ wa irĩra cianyu nĩkĩ?
And He answering said to them, “Why also do you transgress the command of God because of your tradition?
4 Nĩgũkorwo Ngai oigire atĩrĩ, ‘Tĩĩa thoguo na nyũkwa’ na ‘Mũndũ wa kũruma ithe kana nyina no nginya ooragwo.’
For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother—let him die the death;
5 No inyuĩ muugaga atĩ mũndũ angĩĩra ithe kana nyina atĩrĩ, ‘Ũteithio ũrĩa ingĩagũteithia naguo, nĩ kĩheo kĩamũrĩre Ngai,’
but you say, Whoever may say to father or mother, An offering [is] whatever you may be profited by me—
6 mũndũ ũcio ndarĩ bata wa ‘gũtĩĩa ithe’ naguo. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio mũgagĩtua kiugo kĩa Ngai gĩa tũhũ nĩ ũndũ wa kĩrĩra kĩanyu.
and he may not honor his father or his mother, and you set aside the command of God because of your tradition.
7 Inyuĩ hinga ici! Isaia nĩamenyete wega hĩndĩ ĩrĩa aarathire ũhoro wanyu, akiuga atĩrĩ:
Hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well of you, saying,
8 “‘Andũ aya maaheaga gĩtĩĩo na mĩromo, no ngoro ciao irĩ kũraya na niĩ.
This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and with the lips it honors Me, but their heart is far off from Me;
9 Nao maahooyaga o tũhũ; morutani marĩa marutanaga no mawatho ma andũ.’”
and in vain they worship Me, teaching teachings—commands of men.”
10 Nake Jesũ agĩĩta kĩrĩndĩ kĩu gĩũke harĩ we, agĩkĩĩra atĩrĩ, “Thikĩrĩriai na mũtaũkĩrwo.
And having called near the multitude, He said to them, “Hear and understand:
11 Kĩrĩa gĩtoonyaga na kanua ka mũndũ ti kĩo ‘kĩmũthaahagia’, no kĩrĩa kiumaga kanua gake nĩkĩo ‘kĩmũthaahagia.’”
[it is] not that which is coming into the mouth [that] defiles the man, but that which is coming forth from the mouth, this defiles the man.”
12 Na hĩndĩ ĩyo arutwo ake magĩthiĩ harĩ we, makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Nĩũĩ atĩ Afarisai nĩmararakarire rĩrĩa maraiguire ũhoro ũcio?”
Then His disciples having come near, said to Him, “Have You known that the Pharisees, having heard the word, were stumbled?”
13 Nake akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Mũmera o wothe ũtaahandĩtwo nĩ Baba ũrĩa ũrĩ igũrũ nĩũkamunywo na mĩri.
And He answering said, “Every plant that My heavenly Father did not plant will be rooted up;
14 Tiganai nao; acio nĩ atongoria atumumu. Mũtumumu angĩtongoria mũtumumu ũngĩ, eerĩ no kũgũa mangĩgũa irima.”
leave them alone, they are guides—blind of blind; and if blind may guide blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
15 Nake Petero akiuga atĩrĩ, “Tũtaũrĩre ngerekano ĩyo.”
And Peter answering said to Him, “Explain to us this allegory.”
16 Nake Jesũ akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “O na inyuĩ mũtirĩ mũrataũkĩrwo o na rĩu?
And Jesus said, “Are you also yet without understanding?
17 Kaĩ mũtooĩ atĩ kĩndũ kĩrĩa gĩtoonyaga na kanua gĩthiiaga nda, gĩgacooka gĩkoima mwĩrĩ?
Do you not understand that all that is going into the mouth passes into the belly, and is cast forth into the drain?
18 No maũndũ marĩa moimaga kanua moimaga ngoro-inĩ, na nĩmo ‘mathaahagia’ mũndũ.
But the things coming forth from the mouth come forth from the heart, and these defile the man;
19 Nĩ ũndũ ngoro-inĩ nĩkuo kuumaga meciiria mooru, na ũragani, na ũtharia, na ũhũũri maraya, na ũici, na kũiganĩrĩra igenyo, na njambanio.
for out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, whoredoms, thefts, false witnessings, slanders:
20 Macio nĩmo maũndũ marĩa ‘mathaahagia’ mũndũ; no kũrĩa irio na moko matarĩ mathambie matingĩtũma mũndũ agĩe na ‘thaahu’.”
these are the things defiling the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”
21 Ningĩ Jesũ akiuma kũu, agĩthiĩ ndeere-inĩ cia Turo na Sidoni.
And Jesus having come forth from there, withdrew to the parts of Tyre and Sidon,
22 Mũndũ-wa-nja Mũkaanani woimĩte gũkuhĩ na kũu agĩũka kũrĩ we, akĩmũkayagĩra, akiugaga atĩrĩ, “Mwathani, Mũrũ wa Daudi, njiguĩra tha! Mũirĩtu wakwa nĩarathĩĩnio mũno nĩ ndaimono.”
and behold, a woman, a Canaanite, having come forth from those borders, called to Him, saying, “Deal kindly with me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is miserably demonized.”
23 No Jesũ ndarĩ ũndũ o na ũmwe oigire. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio arutwo ake magĩthiĩ kũrĩ we makĩmũringĩrĩria, makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Mwĩre athiĩ, tondũ nĩaratũrũmĩrĩra agĩkayaga.”
And He did not answer her a word; and His disciples having come to Him, were asking Him, saying, “Let her away, because she cries after us”;
24 Nake Jesũ agĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Ndaatũmirwo o kũrĩ ngʼondu cia nyũmba ya Isiraeli iria ciũrĩte tu.”
and He answering said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 Nake mũndũ-wa-nja ũcio agĩũka, akĩmũturĩria ndu, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Mwathani, ndeithia!”
And having come, she was worshiping Him, saying, “Lord, help me”;
26 Nake Jesũ agĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Gũtiagĩrĩire kuoya mũgate wa ciana ũikĩrie ngui.”
and He answering said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread, and to cast to the little dogs.”
27 Nake mũndũ-wa-nja ũcio akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ĩĩ nĩguo Mwathani; no o na ngui nĩirĩĩaga rũitĩki rũrĩa rũgũaga kuuma metha-inĩ ya mwene cio.”
And she said, “Yes, Lord, for even the little dogs eat of the crumbs that are falling from their lords’ table”;
28 Nake Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Mũtumia ũyũ, wĩtĩkio waku nĩ mũnene! Ihooya rĩaku nĩrĩahingio.” Nake mwarĩ akĩhonio ithaa o rĩu.
then answering, Jesus said to her, “O woman, great [is] your faith, let it be to you as you will”; and her daughter was healed from that hour.
29 Jesũ akiuma kũu, agĩthiĩ agereire hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia iria rĩa Galili, agĩcooka akĩambata kĩrĩma-inĩ, agĩikara thĩ.
And having departed from there, Jesus came near to the Sea of Galilee, and having gone up to the mountain, He was sitting there,
30 Nakĩo kĩrĩndĩ kĩnene gĩgĩũka kũrĩ we, gĩkĩmũrehera andũ arĩa maathuaga, na atumumu, na arĩa maarĩ onju na arĩa mataaragia, na angĩ aingĩ, makĩmaiga magũrũ-inĩ make; nake akĩmahonia.
and there came to Him great multitudes, having with them lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they cast them at the feet of Jesus, and He healed them,
31 Nao andũ makĩgega rĩrĩa moonire arĩa mataaragia makĩaria, na arĩa onju mahonetio, na arĩa maathuaga magĩĩtwara, na atumumu makĩona. Nao makĩgooca Ngai wa Isiraeli.
so that the multitudes wondered, seeing mute ones speaking, maimed whole, lame walking, and blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Nake Jesũ agĩĩta arutwo ake moke harĩ we, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Nĩndĩraiguĩra andũ aya tha tondũ makoretwo hamwe na niĩ mĩthenya ĩtatũ, na matirĩ na kĩndũ gĩa kũrĩa. Ndikwenda mathiĩ marĩ ahũtu, tondũ maahota kũringĩkĩra njĩra.”
And Jesus having called near His disciples, said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because now three days they continue with Me, and they do not have what they may eat; and to let them away fasting I will not, lest they faint in the way.”
33 Nao arutwo ake magĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Tũngĩruta kũ mĩgate ya kũhũũnia kĩrĩndĩ ta gĩkĩ, gũkũ werũ-inĩ?”
And His disciples say to Him, “From where to us in a wilderness [will we get] so many loaves, as to fill so great a multitude?”
34 Nake Jesũ akĩmooria, atĩrĩ, “Mũrĩ na mĩgate ĩigana?” Nao makĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Tũrĩ na mĩgate mũgwanja, na tũthamaki tũnini tũtarĩ tũingĩ.”
And Jesus says to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fishes.”
35 Nake akĩĩra kĩrĩndĩ kĩu gĩikare thĩ.
And He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the ground,
36 Agĩcooka akĩoya mĩgate ĩyo mũgwanja na tũthamaki tũu, na aarĩkia gũcookia ngaatho-rĩ, akĩmĩenyũranga, akĩmĩnengera arutwo nao makĩhe andũ.
and having taken the seven loaves and the fishes, having given thanks, He broke, and gave to His disciples, and the disciples [gave] to the multitude.
37 Othe makĩrĩa makĩhũũna. Thuutha ũcio arutwo makĩũngania cienyũ iria ciatigarĩte makĩiyũria ciondo mũgwanja.
And they all ate, and were filled, and they took up what was over of the broken pieces seven baskets full,
38 Mũigana wa andũ arĩa maarĩire maarĩ andũ ngiri inya, andũ-a-nja na ciana matatarĩtwo.
and those eating were four thousand men, apart from women and children.
39 Jesũ aarĩkia kuugĩra kĩrĩndĩ ũhoro, agĩtoonya gatarũ, agĩthiĩ mwena wa Magadani.
And having let away the multitudes, He went into the boat, and came to the borders of Magdala.
