< Mariko 16 >
And when the sabbath was past Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices in order to come and embalm Him:
2 Mũthenya wa mbere wa kiumia, rũciinĩ tene thuutha wa riũa kũratha, marĩ njĩra magĩthiĩ mbĩrĩra-inĩ,
and very early in the morning of the first day of the week they come to the sepulchre at sun-rising.
3 nĩmoranagia atĩrĩ, “Nũũ ũgũtũgaragarĩria ihiga rĩehere mũromo-inĩ wa mbĩrĩra?”
And they said to one another, Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the sepulchre?
4 No rĩrĩa maatiirire maitho, makĩona ihiga rĩu nĩrĩagaragarĩtio rĩkehera, nĩgũkorwo rĩarĩ inene mũno.
(but when they looked up, they saw that the stone was rolled away, ) for it was a very great one.
5 Na rĩrĩa maatoonyaga mbĩrĩra-thĩinĩ, makĩona mwanake wehumbĩte nguo njerũ ndaaya aikarĩte thĩ mwena wao wa ũrĩo, nao makĩmaka.
And they went into the sepulchre and saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white robe; and they were affrighted:
6 Nake akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Tigai kũmaka. Mũracaria Jesũ ũrĩa wa Nazarethi, ũrĩa ũrambirwo mũtĩ igũrũ. Nĩariũkĩte! Ndarĩ haha. Onei harĩa maramũigĩte.
but he said to them, Be not affrighted, ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified, He is risen, He is not here, see the place where they laid Him.
7 No thiĩi mwĩre arutwo ake o na Petero atĩrĩ, ‘Nĩekũmũtongoria gũthiĩ Galili. Kũu nĩkuo mũkaamuona, o ta ũrĩa aamwĩrire’.”
But go, tell his disciples, and Peter particularly, that He is going before you into Galilee: there ye will see Him, as He told you.
8 Atumia acio makiuma hau mbĩrĩra-inĩ makĩinainaga na magegete. Matirĩ mũndũ meerire ũndũ, tondũ nĩmetigagĩra.
And they hasted out and fled from the sepulchre; for they were seized with trembling and amazement: neither said they any thing to any one; for they were afraid.
9 (note: The most reliable and earliest manuscripts do not include Mark 16:9-20.) Mũthenya wa mbere wa kiumia rũciinĩ tene Jesũ ariũka-rĩ, aambire kuumĩrĩra Mariamu Mũmagidali ũrĩa aarutĩte ndaimono mũgwanja.
(note: The most reliable and earliest manuscripts do not include Mark 16:9-20.) Now Jesus being risen early on the first day of the week appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven devils:
10 Nake Mariamu agĩthiĩ akĩĩra arĩa maatũire na Jesũ, akĩmakora magĩcakaya na makĩrĩra.
and she went and told those that used to be with Him, who were mourning and weeping;
11 Nao maigua atĩ Jesũ nĩariũkĩte, na atĩ Mariamu nĩamuonete, makĩrega gwĩtĩkia.
but they, though they heard that He was indeed alive, and had been seen by her, did not believe it.
12 Thuutha ũcio Jesũ akiumĩrĩra andũ angĩ eerĩ ao, ahaana ũndũ ũngĩ, rĩrĩa maathiiaga mĩgũnda-inĩ.
After this He appeared in another form to two of them as they were walking, going into the country:
13 Andũ acio makĩhũndũka, magĩthiĩ makĩĩra arutwo arĩa angĩ; no-o nao makĩrega kũmetĩkia.
and they went and told the rest; but they did not believe them neither.
At last he appeared to the eleven as they were sitting at table, and upbraided them with their unbelief, and hardness of heart; because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He was risen.
15 Akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Thiĩi thĩ yothe mũkahunjĩrie andũ othe Ũhoro-ũrĩa-Mwega.
And He said unto them, Go to all the world and preach the gospel to every one:
16 Na mũndũ o wothe ũgetĩkia na abatithio nĩakahonoka, no ũrĩa wothe ũtagetĩkia nĩagatuĩrwo ciira.
he that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be condemned.
17 Nacio ciama ici nĩ igatwaranaga na arĩa metĩkĩtie: Nĩmakaingata ndaimono thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩakwa; na nĩmakaaria na thiomi njerũ;
And these signs shall accompany them that believe; in my name shall they cast out demons, they shall speak with new tongues;
18 na nĩmakanyiita nyoka na moko mao; na rĩrĩa makaanyua thumu, ndũkamathũkia o na hanini; nĩmakaigagĩrĩra andũ arĩa arũaru moko, nao mahone.”
they shall take up serpents, and if they should drink any thing poisonous, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall be well.
19 Mwathani Jesũ aarĩkia kũmaarĩria ũhoro ũcio, agĩtwarwo igũrũ na agĩikara thĩ guoko-inĩ kwa ũrĩo kwa Ngai.
Now the Lord, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
And they went forth and preached every where, the Lord co-operating with them, and confirming the word by miracles following upon it. Amen.
