1 Rũciinĩ tene Joshua na andũ othe a Isiraeli makiuma hau Shitimu, magĩthiĩ nginya Jorodani, na matanaringa mũrĩmo ũcio ũngĩ magĩikara hau.
And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.
2 Thuutha wa mĩthenya ĩtatũ-rĩ, anene magĩthiĩ kũndũ guothe gĩikaro-inĩ kĩu,
And it came to pass at the end of three days, that the officers went through the camp;
3 magĩatha andũ, makĩmeera atĩrĩ: “Rĩrĩa mũrĩona ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro kĩa Jehova Ngai wanyu, na muone athĩnjĩri-Ngai, o acio Alawii, marĩkuuĩte-rĩ, mumagare muume harĩa mũrĩ na mũrĩrũmĩrĩre.
and they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then remove from your place, and go after it;
4 Hĩndĩ ĩyo nĩguo mũrĩmenya njĩra ĩrĩa mũrĩĩgera, nĩgũkorwo mũtirĩ mwagera njĩra ĩyo rĩngĩ. No rĩrĩ, gatagatĩ-inĩ kanyu na ithandũkũ rĩu, nĩhagĩe itĩĩna ta rĩa mĩkono ngiri igĩrĩ; mũtikarĩkuhĩrĩrie.”
yet there shall be a distance between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Ye shall not come near it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go; for ye have not passed this way heretofore.
5 Nake Joshua akĩĩra andũ acio atĩrĩ, “Mwĩtheriei, nĩgũkorwo rũciũ Jehova nĩageeka maũndũ ma magegania gatagatĩ-inĩ kanyu.”
And Joshua said to the people, Hallow yourselves; for to-morrow Jehovah will do wonders in your midst.
6 Nake Joshua akĩĩra athĩnjĩri-Ngai atĩrĩ, “Oyai ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro mũthiĩ mbere ya andũ aya.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio makĩrĩoya, magĩthiĩ mbere yao.
And Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and go over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
7 Nake Jehova akĩĩra Joshua atĩrĩ, “Ũmũthĩ nĩngwambĩrĩria gũgũtũũgĩria maitho-inĩ ma andũ othe a Isiraeli, nĩguo mamenye atĩ ndĩrĩkoragwo hamwe nawe o ta ũrĩa ndaarĩ hamwe na Musa.
And Jehovah said to Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee.
8 Ĩra athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa megũkuua ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro atĩrĩ: ‘Mwakinya hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani, mũthiĩ mũrũgame Jorodani thĩinĩ.’”
And thou shalt command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye come to the edge of the waters of the Jordan, stand still in the Jordan.
9 Nake Joshua akĩĩra andũ a Isiraeli atĩrĩ, “Ũkai haha mũigue ciugo cia Jehova Ngai wanyu.
And Joshua said to the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of Jehovah your God.
10 Ũhoro ũyũ nĩguo ũrĩmũmenyithia atĩ Ngai ũrĩa ũrĩ muoyo arĩ hamwe na inyuĩ, na atĩ hatirĩ nganja nĩakamũingatĩra Akaanani, na Ahiti, na Ahivi, na Aperizi, na Agirigashi, na Aamori, na Ajebusi.
And Joshua said, Hereby shall ye know that the living God is in your midst, and [that] he will without fail dispossess from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
11 Atĩrĩrĩ, ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro rĩa Mwathani wa thĩ yothe nĩrĩkũringa Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani mbere yanyu.
Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is going over before you into the Jordan.
12 Na rĩrĩ, thuurai andũ ikũmi na eerĩ kuuma mĩhĩrĩga-inĩ ya Isiraeli, o mũhĩrĩga mũndũ ũmwe.
And now take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, one man for each tribe.
13 Na rĩrĩa athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa makuuĩte ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro kĩa Jehova, o we Mwathani wa thĩ yothe, marĩtoboka thĩinĩ wa Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani-rĩ, maaĩ maruo marĩa maratherera maikũrũkĩte nĩmarĩtinĩka na meyũmbe hĩba.”
And it shall come to pass, when the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of Jehovah, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan, the waters flowing down from above, shall be cut off, and shall stand up in a heap.
14 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio rĩrĩa andũ moimagarire makiuma kambĩ nĩguo maringe Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani, athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa maakuuĩte ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro magĩthiĩ mbere yao.
And it came to pass when the people removed from their tents, to pass over the Jordan, that the priests bearing the ark of the covenant were before the people;
15 Na rĩrĩ, nĩgũkorwo Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani nĩrũiyũraga mũno rũgakĩra hũgũrũrũ ciaguo hĩndĩ ya magetha. No rĩrĩa athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa maakuuĩte ithandũkũ rĩu maakinyire Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani, namo magũrũ mao magĩtoboka hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia rũũĩ,
and when they that bore the ark were come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (and the Jordan is full over all its banks throughout the days of harvest),
16 maaĩ marĩa moimaga mwena wa na igũrũ wa rũũĩ magĩtiga gũtherera maikũrũkĩte; makĩĩyũmba hĩba kũndũ kũraya mũno nginya itũũra-inĩ rĩetagwo Adamu rĩrĩa rĩ gũkuhĩ na Zarethani, namo maaĩ marĩa maathereraga marorete Iria-inĩ rĩa Araba (nĩrĩo Iria rĩa Cumbĩ) magĩtinĩka biũ. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio andũ makĩringa mangʼetheire Jeriko.
the waters which flowed down from above stood [and] rose up in a heap, very far, by Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan; and those that flowed down towards the sea of the plain, the salt sea, were completely cut off. And the people went over opposite to Jericho.
17 Athĩnjĩri-Ngai arĩa maakuuĩte ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro kĩa Jehova makĩrũgama mehaandĩte wega kũndũ kũmũ gatagatĩ ka Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani, nao andũ a Isiraeli othe makĩhĩtũka makĩringagĩra thĩ nyũmũ o nginya rĩrĩa rũrĩrĩ rũu ruothe rwarĩkirie kũringa rũũĩ rũu rwa Jorodani.
And the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of Jehovah stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan. And all Israel went over on dry ground, until all the nation had completely gone over the Jordan.
