< Johana 9 >

1 Na rĩrĩa aathiiaga na njĩra-rĩ, akĩona mũndũ waciarĩtwo arĩ mũtumumu.
And passing by He saw a man blind from birth.
2 Nao arutwo ake makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Rabii, nũũ wehirie, nĩ mũndũ ũyũ kana nĩ aciari ake, nĩgeetha aciarwo arĩ mũtumumu?”
And asked Him the disciples of Him saying; Rabbi, who sinned, this [man] or the parents of him, that blind he may be born?
3 Nake Jesũ akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ti mũndũ ũyũ kana aciari ake mehirie. No ũndũ ũyũ wekĩkire nĩgeetha wĩra wa Ngai wonanio mũtũũrĩre-inĩ wake.
Answered (*k*) Jesus; Neither this [man] sinned nor [sinned] the parents of him, but [it was] that may be displayed the works of God in him.
4 Rĩrĩa rĩothe arĩ mũthenya-rĩ, no nginya tũrute wĩra wa ũrĩa wandũmire. Ũtukũ nĩũrooka rĩrĩa gũtarĩ mũndũ ũngĩhota kũruta wĩra.
(Us *N(K)O*) it behooves to work the works of the [One who] having sent Me while day it is; is coming night, when no [one] is able to work.
5 Rĩrĩa ndĩ gũkũ thĩ, nĩ niĩ ũtheri wa thĩ.”
While in the world I may be, [the] light I am of the world.
6 Na aarĩkia kuuga ũguo, agĩtua mata thĩ, akĩringia ndoro na mata macio, na akĩmĩhaka mũndũ ũcio maitho.
These things having said He spat on [the] ground and He made clay of the spittle and (he rubbed *NK(O)*) (on him *no*) the clay to the eyes (of the blind *k*)
7 Akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Thiĩ ũgethambe Karia-inĩ ga Siloamu” (narĩo rĩĩtwa Siloamu nĩ kuuga Gũtũmwo.) Nĩ ũndũ ũcio mũndũ ũcio agĩthiĩ na agĩĩthamba, na agĩũka mũciĩ akĩonaga.
And He said to him; do go do wash yourself in the pool of Siloam which means Sent. He went therefore and washed and came [back] seeing.
8 Nao andũ a itũũra rĩake na arĩa maamuonete mbere ĩyo akĩhooya ũteithio makĩũrania atĩrĩ, “Githĩ mũndũ ũyũ ti ũrĩa ũraikaraga thĩ ahooyage ũteithio?”
The therefore neighbours and those having seen him before that (a beggar *N(K)O*) he was, were saying; Surely this is the [one] sitting and begging?
9 Andũ amwe makiuga atĩ aarĩ we. Nao arĩa angĩ makiuga atĩrĩ, “Aca, no kũhaana amũhaana.” Nowe agĩkĩrĩrĩria kuuga atĩrĩ, “Nĩ niĩ mũndũ ũcio.”
Some were saying that He it is, but others were saying; (No, *no*) (but *N(k)O*) (that *k*) like as him he is. He was saying that I myself am [he].
10 Nao makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Maitho maku makĩhingũkire atĩa?”
They were saying therefore to him; How (then *NO*) were opened of you the eyes?
11 Nake akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ ũrĩa metaga Jesũ nĩwe ũringirie ndoro aahaka maitho, anjĩĩra thiĩ ngeethambe Karia-inĩ ga Siloamu. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ndathiĩ na ndeethamba, na ndahota kuona.”
Answered He (and said: *k*) (The *no*) man (who *no*) is being named Jesus clay made and He anointed my eyes and He said to me (that *no*) do go to (pool *k*) (*N(k)O*) Siloam and do wash. yourself Having gone (therefore *N(K)O*) and having washed I received sight.
12 Nao makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ ũcio arĩ ha?” Nake akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndiũũĩ.”
(And *N(k)O*) they said to him; Where is He? He says; Not I know.
13 Nao magĩtwara mũndũ ũcio warĩ mũtumumu kũrĩ Afarisai.
They bring him to the Pharisees who once [was] blind;
14 Na rĩrĩ, mũthenya ũcio Jesũ aaringirie ndoro na akĩhingũra maitho ma mũndũ ũcio warĩ wa Thabatũ.
Was now Sabbath (in which day *NO*) (when *k*) the clay made Jesus and opened of him the eyes.
15 Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Afarisai o nao makĩmũũria ũrĩa aahotete kuona. Nake mũndũ ũcio akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Aahakire ndoro maitho, na niĩ ndeethamba na rĩu nĩndĩrona.”
Again therefore were asking him also the Pharisees how he had received sight. And he said to them; Clay He put on my eyes and I washed and I see.
16 Nao Afarisai amwe makiuga atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ ũyũ ndoimĩte kũrĩ Ngai, nĩgũkorwo ndamenyagĩrĩra Thabatũ.” No arĩa angĩ makĩũria atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ mwĩhia ahota atĩa kũringa ciama ta ici?” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio makĩamũkana.
Were saying therefore of the Pharisees some; Not is this from (*k*) God the man for the Sabbath not He does keep. Others (however *no*) were saying; How is able a man sinful such signs to do? And division there was among them.
17 Mũthia-inĩ Afarisai acio makĩhũgũkĩra mũndũ ũcio warĩ mũtumumu, makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Wee ũkuuga atĩa ha ũhoro wake? Nĩwe araahingũrire maitho.” Nake mũndũ ũcio agĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Nĩ mũnabii.”
They say (therefore *NO*) to the blind [man] again; What you yourself say concerning Him for He opened of you the eyes? And he said that A prophet He is.
18 O na kũrĩ ũguo Ayahudi matiigana gwĩtĩkia ũhoro wa mũndũ ũcio atĩ aarĩ mũtumumu na atĩ nĩacookete kuona, nginya rĩrĩa maatũmanĩire aciari ake.
Not did believe then the Jews concerning him that he was being blind and received sight until when they called the parents of him who having received sight,
19 Makĩmooria atĩrĩ, “Ũyũ nĩ mwana wanyu? Ũyũ nĩwe mũroiga aaciarirwo arĩ mũtumumu? Rĩu ahotete atĩa kuona?”
And they asked them saying; This is the son of you of whom you yourselves say that blind he was born? How then does he see presently
20 Nao aciari ake magĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Ithuĩ tũũĩ nĩ mwana witũ na tũũĩ aaciarirwo arĩ mũtumumu.
Answered (therefore *N(k)*) (to them *k*) the parents of him and said; We know that this is the son of us and that blind he was born;
21 No ũrĩa ahotete kuona, kana ũrĩa ũmũhingũrire maitho make, ithuĩ tũtiũĩ. Mũũriei nĩ mũgima, nĩekwĩyarĩrĩria.”
How however presently he sees not we know, or who opened of him the eyes we ourselves not know; him do ask, (he himself *k*) [of] age is; He himself Concerning himself he will speak.
22 Aciari ake moigire ũguo nĩ ũndũ wa gwĩtigĩra Ayahudi, nĩgũkorwo Ayahudi nĩmarĩkĩtie gũtua atĩ mũndũ o wothe ũngiuga atĩ Jesũ nĩwe Kristũ nĩegũikio nja ya thunagogi.
These things said the parents of Him because they were afraid of the Jews; already for had agreed together the Jews that if anyone Him shall confess Christ, expelled from the synagogue he shall be.
23 Nĩkĩo aciari ake moigire atĩrĩ, “Nĩ mũgima; mũũriei.”
Because of this the parents of him said that Age he has, him (do question. *N(k)O*)
24 Magĩĩta mũndũ ũcio warĩ mũtumumu hĩndĩ ya keerĩ. Makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Goocithia Ngai. Nĩtũũĩ mũndũ ũyũ nĩ mwĩhia.”
They called therefore the man out a second time who were blind and they said to him; do give glory to God! We ourselves know that this man a sinner is.
25 Nake agĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndiũĩ kana nĩ mwĩhia kana ti mwĩhia. No njũũĩ ũndũ ũyũ ũmwe; ndĩraarĩ mũtumumu na rĩu nĩndĩrona!”
Answered then he (and said: *k*) Whether a sinner He is not I know; One [thing] I do know that blind being now I see.
26 Ningĩ makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Agwĩkire atĩa? Akũhingũrire maitho atĩa?”
They said (therefore *N(k)O*) to him (again: *k*) What did He to you? How opened He of you the eyes?
27 Nake akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Nĩndamwĩra ũhoro o rĩu na inyuĩ mũtinathikĩrĩria. Mũrenda kũigua rĩngĩ nĩkĩ? O na inyuĩ nĩmũkwenda gũtuĩka arutwo ake?”
He answered them; I told you already, and not you did listen. Why again do you wish to hear? Surely not also you yourselves do wish His disciples to become?
28 Nao makĩmũruma, makĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Wee ũrĩ mũrutwo wa mũndũ ũyũ! Ithuĩ tũrĩ arutwo a Musa!
(And *n(o)*) ([they] now *o*) railed at (therefore *K*) him and said; You yourself a disciple are of that One, we ourselves however of Moses are disciples.
29 Ithuĩ nĩtũũĩ atĩ Ngai nĩarĩirie Musa, no ha ũhoro wa mũndũ ũyũ-rĩ, tũtiũĩ o na kũrĩa oimĩte.”
We ourselves know that to Moses has spoken God, this [man] however not we know from where is.
30 Nake mũndũ ũcio akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Kaĩ ũcio nĩ ũrirũ-ĩ! Inyuĩ mũtiũĩ kũrĩa oimĩte, na nĩwe ũũhingũrire maitho.
Answered the man and said to them; In this for (*no*) an amazing thing is that you yourselves not know from where He is, and yet (He opened *N(k)O*) my eyes.
31 Nĩtũũĩ atĩ Ngai ndathikagĩrĩria andũ ehia. Athikagĩrĩria mũndũ ũrĩa ũrĩ na ũngai na ũrĩa wĩkaga wendi wake.
We know (now *k*) that to sinners God not does listen, but if anyone God-fearing shall be and the will of Him shall do, to him He listens.
32 Gũtirĩ mũndũ ũrĩ waigua ũhoro wa mũndũ ũhingũrĩtwo maitho aciarĩtwo arĩ mũtumumu. (aiōn g165)
Out of the age never it has been heard that opened anyone [the] eyes of [one] blind born. (aiōn g165)
33 Korwo mũndũ ũyũ ndoimĩte kũrĩ Ngai ndarĩ ũndũ angĩhota gwĩka.”
only unless were this [man] from God, not He was able to do no [thing].
34 Igũrũ rĩa ũhoro ũcio magĩcookia atĩrĩ, “Wee waciarirwo ũrĩ na mehia. Ũngĩkĩgeria atĩa gũtũruta!” Nao makĩmũikania na kũu nja.
They answered and they said to him; In sins you yourself were born entirely and you yourself teach us? And they cast him out.
35 Jesũ nĩaiguire atĩ nĩmaikĩtie mũndũ ũcio nja, na rĩrĩa aamuonire akĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Wee nĩwĩtĩkĩtie Mũrũ wa Mũndũ?”
Heard (*ko*) Jesus that they had cast him out, and having found him He said (to him: *ko*) You yourself believe in the Son (of Man? *N(K)O*)
36 Nake mũndũ ũcio akĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Mũthuuri ũyũ, ũcio nĩwe ũ? Njĩĩra, nĩgeetha ndĩmwĩtĩkie.”
Answered he and said; (And *no*) who is He, lord, that I may believe in Him?
37 Nake Jesũ akiuga atĩrĩ, “Rĩu nĩũmuonete; nĩwe ũyũ ũraaria nawe.”
Said (now *k*) to him Jesus; Both You have seen Him, and the [One] speaking with you He is.
38 Nake mũndũ ũcio akiuga atĩrĩ, “Mwathani, nĩndetĩkia,” na akĩmũthathaiya.
And he was saying; I believe, Lord, And he worshiped Him.
39 Ningĩ Jesũ akiuga atĩrĩ, “Njũkĩte gũkũ thĩ nĩ ũndũ wa gũtuanĩra ciira, nĩgeetha arĩa atumumu mahote kuona, nao arĩa monaga matuĩke atumumu.”
And said Jesus; For judgment I myself into world this came, that those not seeing may see and those seeing blind may become.
40 Afarisai amwe arĩa maarĩ nake makĩigua akiuga ũguo, nao makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Atĩ atĩa? O na ithuĩ tũrĩ atumumu?”
(and *k*) Heard from the Pharisees these things who with Him being and they said to Him; Surely not also we ourselves blind are?
41 Nake Jesũ akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Mũngĩrĩ atumumu-rĩ, mũtingĩrĩ na mehia; no rĩu tondũ muugaga atĩ nĩmuonaga-rĩ, mũgũikara o na wĩhia wanyu.”
Said to them Jesus; If blind you were, not then would you have sin. since however you say that We see, the (therefore *K*) sin of you remains.
