< Johana 13 >

1 Na rĩrĩ, gwatigĩtie o hanini Gĩathĩ kĩa Bathaka gĩkinye. Jesũ nĩamenyete atĩ ihinda rĩake rĩa kuuma gũkũ thĩ athiĩ kũrĩ Ithe nĩrĩakinyĩte. Na tondũ nĩendete arĩa maarĩ ake gũkũ thĩ, akĩmoonia ũrĩa aamendete nginya kĩrĩkĩrĩro.
And before the Celebration of the Passover, Jesus knowing that His hour has come, that He may depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who [are] in the world—to the end He loved them.
And dinner having come, the Devil already having put [it] into the heart of Judas of Simon, Iscariot, that he may deliver Him up,
3 Jesũ nĩamenyete atĩ Ithe nĩamũheete ũhoti wa maũndũ mothe, na atĩ oimĩte kũrĩ Ngai, na acookaga kũrĩ o Ngai;
Jesus knowing that all things the Father has given to Him—into [His] hands, and that He came forth from God, and He goes to God,
4 nĩ ũndũ ũcio Jesũ agĩũkĩra, akiuma hau maarĩĩagĩra, akĩruta nguo yake ya igũrũ, akĩoya taurũ, akĩĩoha njohero.
rises from the dinner, and lays down His garments, and having taken a towel, He girded Himself;
afterward He puts water into the basin, and began to wash the feet of His disciples, and to wipe with the towel with which He was being girded.
6 Na aakinya harĩ Simoni Petero, Petero akĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Hĩ, Mwathani, wee nĩwe ũgũũthambia nyarĩrĩ?”
He comes, therefore, to Simon Peter, and that one says to Him, “Lord, You—do You wash my feet?”
7 Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Ndũngĩmenya ũrĩa ndĩreka rĩu, no thuutha-inĩ nĩũrĩmenya.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “That which I do you have not known now, but you will know after these things”;
8 Petero akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Aca, wee ndũrĩ hĩndĩ ũngĩthambia nyarĩrĩ ciakwa.” Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Itangĩgũthambia, ndũngĩgĩa ngwatanĩro na niĩ.” (aiōn g165)
Peter says to Him, “You may not wash my feet—throughout the age.” Jesus answered him, “If I may not wash you, you have no part with Me”; (aiōn g165)
9 Simoni Petero akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Mwathani, ndũgaathambie o nyarĩrĩ ciiki, no gĩĩthambie moko o na mũtwe!”
Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also the hands and the head.”
10 Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ wĩthambĩte mwĩrĩ abatairio nĩ gwĩthamba o nyarĩrĩ ciiki; mwĩrĩ wake wothe nĩ mũtheru. Na inyuĩ mũrĩ atheru, o na gũtuĩka ti inyuothe.”
Jesus says to him, “He who has been bathed has no need except to wash his feet, but he is clean altogether; and you are clean, but not all”;
11 Nĩgũkorwo nĩamenyete ũrĩa ũkaamũkunyanĩra, na nĩkĩo oigire atĩ ti othe maarĩ atheru.
for He knew him who is delivering Him up; because of this He said, “You are not all clean.”
When, therefore, He washed their feet, and took His garments, having reclined again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
13 Mũnjĩtaga ‘Mũrutani’ na ‘Mwathani’, na ũguo nĩguo kũrĩ, nĩgũkorwo ũguo nĩguo ndĩ.
You call Me the Teacher and the LORD, and you say well, for I am;
14 Na rĩrĩ, kuona atĩ Niĩ, Mwathani na Mũrutani wanyu, nĩndamũthambia nyarĩrĩ-rĩ, o na inyuĩ nĩmwagĩrĩirwo mũthambanagie nyarĩrĩ mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ.
if then I washed your feet—the LORD and the Teacher—you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 Nĩndamuonia kĩonereria nĩguo mwĩkage o ta ũguo ndamwĩka.
For I gave to you an example, that, according as I did to you, you also may do;
16 Ngũmwĩra atĩrĩ na ma, gũtirĩ ndungata nene gũkĩra mwathi wayo, kana mũtũmwo agakĩra ũrĩa ũmũtũmĩte.
truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his lord, nor an apostle greater than he who sent him;
17 Kuona atĩ rĩu nĩmũmenyete maũndũ maya, nĩmũrĩrathimagwo mwameka.
if you have known these things, you are blessed if you may do them;
18 “Ndiraaria ũhoro wanyu inyuothe; nĩnjũũĩ arĩa thuurĩte. No ũhoro ũyũ nĩ wa kũhingia maandĩko marĩa moigĩte atĩrĩ, ‘O ũrĩa tũrĩĩanagĩra irio nake nĩangarũrũkĩte.’
I do not speak concerning you all; I have known whom I chose for Myself; but that the Writing may be fulfilled: He who is eating the bread with Me, lifted up his heel against Me.
19 “Ndĩramwĩra maũndũ maya rĩu matanekĩka, nĩgeetha hĩndĩ ĩrĩa marĩĩkĩka mũrĩnjĩtĩkia atĩ niĩ nĩ niĩ we.
From this time I tell you, before its coming to pass, that, when it may come to pass, you may believe that I AM;
20 Ngũmwĩra atĩrĩ na ma, ũrĩa wothe wamũkagĩra mũndũ ũrĩa ndũmĩte nĩ niĩ mwene aamũkagĩra; na ũrĩa wothe ũnyamũkagĩra, aamũkagĩra ũrĩa wandũmire.”
truly, truly, I say to you, he who is receiving whomsoever I may send, receives Me; and he who is receiving Me, receives Him who sent Me.”
Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in the spirit, and testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you will deliver Me up”;
22 Nao arutwo ake makĩambĩrĩria kũrorana marigĩtwo nũũ gatagatĩ-inĩ kao aaragia ũhoro wake.
the disciples were looking, therefore, at one another, doubting concerning of whom He speaks.
23 Ũmwe wao, mũrutwo ũrĩa Jesũ endete, aikarĩte thĩ etiiranĩtie na Jesũ.
And there was one of His disciples reclining in the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus was loving;
24 Nake Simoni Petero akĩheneria mũrutwo ũcio, akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ta mũũrie araaria ũhoro wa ũ.”
Simon Peter, then, beckons to this one, to inquire who he may be concerning whom He speaks,
25 Nake mũrutwo ũcio, agĩĩtiirania na Jesũ na akĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Mwathani, ũcio nũũ ũraaria ũhoro wake?”
and that one having leaned back on the breast of Jesus, responds to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
Jesus answers, “It is that one to whom I, having dipped the morsel, will give it”; and having dipped the morsel, He gives [it] to Judas of Simon, Iscariot.
27 Judasi aarĩkia kũrĩa mũgate ũcio, Mũcukani akĩmũingĩra. Nake Jesũ akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ũrĩa ũkiriĩ gwĩka-rĩ, ĩka narua.”
And after the morsel, then Satan entered into that one. Jesus, therefore, says to him, “What you do—do quickly”;
28 No gũtirĩ o na ũmwe warĩ metha-inĩ wataũkĩirwo nĩ gĩtũmi kĩa Jesũ kũmwĩra ũguo.
and none of those reclining to eat knew for what intent He said this to him,
29 Na tondũ Judasi nĩwe waigaga mbeeca-rĩ, amwe magĩĩciiria Jesũ aamwĩraga agũre kĩrĩa kĩabataranĩtie nĩ ũndũ wa Gĩathĩ, kana aheane kĩndũ nĩ ũndũ wa arĩa athĩĩni.
for certain [of them] were thinking, since Judas had the bag, that Jesus says to him, “Buy what we have need of for the celebration”; or that he may give something to the poor;
30 Nake Judasi aarĩkia kwamũkĩra mũgate ũcio, akiuma nja. Na kwarĩ ũtukũ.
having received, therefore, the morsel, that one immediately went forth, and it was night.
31 Na Judasi aarĩkia gũthiĩ, Jesũ akiuga atĩrĩ, “Rĩu Mũrũ wa Mũndũ nĩagoocithĩtio, nake Ngai nĩagoocithĩtio arĩ thĩinĩ wake.
When, therefore, he went forth, Jesus says, “Now was the Son of Man glorified, and God was glorified in Him;
32 Angĩkorwo Ngai nĩagoocithĩtio thĩinĩ wake, Ngai nĩekũgoocithia Mũriũ arĩ thĩinĩ wake mwene, na amũgoocithie o narua.
if God was glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself; indeed, He will immediately glorify Him.
33 “Ciana ciakwa, ngũkorwo na inyuĩ o gwa kahinda kanini. Nĩmũkanjaria, na o ta ũrĩa ndeerire Ayahudi, no taguo ngũmwĩra: Kũrĩa ndĩrathiĩ, inyuĩ mũtingĩhota gũũka.
Little children, yet a little [while] am I with you; you will seek Me, and according as I said to the Jews, I also say to you now: To where I go away, you are not able to come.
34 “Ngũmũhe rĩathani rĩerũ: Endanagai mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ. O ta ũrĩa ndĩmwendete, o na inyuĩ no nginya mwendanage mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ.
A new command I give to you, that you love one another; according as I loved you, that you also love one another;
35 Ũndũ ũyũ nĩguo ũrĩmenyithagia andũ othe atĩ mũrĩ arutwo akwa, mũngĩendana mũndũ na ũrĩa ũngĩ.”
in this will all know that you are My disciples, if you may have love one to another.”
36 Simoni Petero akĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Mwathani nĩ kũ ũgũthiĩ?” Nake Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Kũrĩa ngũthiĩ, mũtingĩhota kũnũmĩrĩra rĩu, no nĩmũrĩnũmĩrĩra thuutha-inĩ.”
Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, to where do You go away?” Jesus answered him, “To where I go away, you are not able now to follow Me, but afterward you will follow Me.”
37 Petero akĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Mwathani nĩ kĩĩ kĩngĩgiria ngũrũmĩrĩre rĩu? Niĩ nĩngũruta muoyo wakwa nĩ ũndũ waku.”
Peter says to Him, “Lord, why am I not able to follow You now? I will lay down my life for You”;
38 Nake Jesũ akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Atĩ no ũrute muoyo waku nĩ ũndũ wakwa? Ngũkwĩra atĩrĩ na ma, ngũkũ ĩtanakũga, nĩũrĩngaana maita matatũ!
Jesus answered him, “You will lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you may deny Me three times.”
